Almyra has 189 contemporary rooms with air conditioning, flat-screen TV and room service. The look is clean and modern, with plenty of natural light and a calm, understated feel that suits golfers who want to switch off after a day on the course. Room types range from standard doubles to family rooms and suites, so it works for couples, golf groups and anyone travelling with children.
Many rooms have a balcony or terrace with either sea views or views towards the forest behind the hotel. If you can, a sea-view room is a lovely upgrade for a post-round drink while the sun drops into the Med. Family rooms are well configured, with separate sleeping areas for children and enough space to spread out, while the suites offer extra living space, upgraded bathrooms and a more premium feel throughout.
For golfers, the hotel works well because it's quiet, comfortable and close to the courses without being isolated. You're a short drive from both Secret Valley and Minthis, and the hotel can arrange tee times, transfers and club storage if needed.
Food & drink
Mosaics is the main buffet restaurant, with a wide international line-up at breakfast and dinner. The quality is consistently good, and there's enough variety to keep things interesting over a week-long stay. Notios is the smarter option, serving Japanese cuisine with a Mediterranean twist in a more intimate setting. Think sashimi, tempura and robata-grilled fish. It's worth booking a table here at least once during your stay.
If you want to eat out, the old harbour is about five minutes on foot, with plenty of waterfront tavernas for fish, meze and an easy-going night off. Agora and Loana are both popular choices, offering fresh fish, Cypriot meze and tables right on the water. If you're like me, you'll appreciate being able to finish 18, grab a quick lunch and still be on the harbour for sunset.
Leisure facilities
The adults-only spa is a real highlight, built around a central pool area with floor-to-ceiling windows. The treatment menu covers everything from deep-tissue massage to facials and body wraps, and there are also saunas, steam rooms and an outdoor rooftop yoga deck where you can join morning or evening sessions overlooking the sea. The gym is well equipped and offers personal training sessions if you want to keep up your fitness routine while you're away. Tennis courts are available for guests, and you can book lessons or simply play at your own pace. The outdoor pool area is ideal for an easy afternoon between rounds, especially in the warmer months.
Almyra Hotel is located on the seafront in Paphos, a five-minute walk from the old harbour and town centre. Paphos International Airport is 20 minutes away by car, and Larnaca International Airport is around 90 minutes if you're flying into the island's other main hub.
