The Bay Course at Costa Navarino is one of those layouts where you can tell the designer has really thought about how each hole sits in the landscape. Robert Trent Jones Jr has threaded the routing through established olive groves before opening things up towards the Peloponnese coast, with proper views over the Ionian Sea. It's the kind of setting that makes you pause on the tee, take a breath, and remind yourself you're here to play golf.

Jones has given you a proper test without making it punishing. The routing is intelligent, the fairways are generous enough to reward good strikes, and the greens have just enough movement to keep you honest with the putter. You'll find elevated tee shots that let you see the shape of the hole, approach shots that demand precision rather than brute force, and enough variety in the par 3s and par 5s to keep the round interesting from start to finish.

The Bay is the most playable of the four Costa Navarino courses. It's challenging enough for low handicappers who want to work the ball and attack pins, but it's also forgiving enough that mid and high handicappers can enjoy the scenery without spending the afternoon hunting for golf balls. The coastal holes bring the drama, and you'll still find a few more sheltered stretches than you might expect on a layout this close to the water.

The clubhouse deserves a mention on its own. This isn't just a functional building where you settle up and grab a sandwich. It's a modern design with floor-to-ceiling glass that frames the Mediterranean like a piece of art. Whether you're having a coffee before your round or a cold drink afterwards, the views alone are worth the visit.

Played from the whites a bit penal in parts with hazards being marked on only one side of the course. Wayward shots requiring a provisional or return to point of play. We chose to play all rocky and shrub areas as red stakes to keep the speed up. Some tough par 3's on this course, 6 of them in total.
