1 Night, 2 Rounds
Belton Woods Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort sits on 475 acres of Lincolnshire countryside, just outside Grantham, and it's the sort of place you can build a proper weekend around. You've got two championship 18-hole courses, a handy academy layout for loosening up and a four-star hotel with a leisure centre and spa, so nobody's stuck twiddling their thumbs when they're not on the tee.
If you're travelling as a group, it's an easy win: golfers can get their rounds in, while everyone else has the pool, gym and Serenity Spa, plus activities like archery, quad biking and clay pigeon shooting. And if you're the organiser, the location helps too, with quick access from the A1, around 45 minutes from East Midlands Airport and roughly 40 minutes from Lincoln.
Food-wise, you've got two solid options on site. The Bar & Grill looks out over the course and has a terrace that's made for a post-round drink when the weather behaves. The Claret Jug is the more casual stop for coffee, snacks and a relaxed pint between rounds. For those seeking a night on the darts, be sure to check out the interactive darts in the golf clubhouse.
Who is this for?
Golfers booking a UK break with easy access, two rounds on-site and enough off-course options to keep non-golfers busy.
Who is it best for?
Societies, mixed-ability groups and mid-handicappers who want variety across two courses, plus couples pairing golf with spa time.

The Lakes Course is the more established of Belton Woods' championship tracks, and represents a formidable challenge for even the better golfers that visit. As its name suggests, it is crucial to negotiate the substantial water hazards, many of which are strategically positioned at the front of the putting surfaces, demanding high-quality approach play.
The 9th hole on the Lakes Course is one of the country's longest, at 609 yards - see if you can join the exclusive club to have found the green in two blows.

The Woods Course is Belton Woods' second championship layout, and underlines why it is regarded as one of the best golf resorts in the Midlands. The Woodside is widely regarded to be more playable for the higher handicappers, but there is no shortage of potential obstacles, coming primarily from the many lakes, which are designed to complement the natural undulations of the land itself.
Belton Woods also has a fleet of GPS golf buggies plus a 21-bay floodlit driving range with TrackMan, a flexible golf-ball tracking solution with tour-proven technology and the industry’s best Virtual Golf, Practice and Entertainment software.

The hotel has 136 guest rooms and has had a £2 million refurbishment, so the look and feel is modern and well kept, which is exactly what you want after 18 holes. Classic rooms are a straightforward base for a golf break, with enough space to stash clubs and dry kit overnight. If you're staying a couple of nights, the Ambassador rooms are worth a look for the extra space and golf course views, a nice touch if you're watching the sun set over the fairways with a drink in hand.
If it's a special occasion, the suites add a bit of luxury with marble bathrooms, whirlpool baths and a separate living area, handy if you're making a long weekend of it or mixing golf with spa time. The atmosphere across the hotel is relaxed and golfer-friendly, the kind of place where you can walk through reception with muddy shoes and nobody bats an eyelid.
On the food front, the Belton Woods Bar & Grill is the main dining room and it's a good one for groups. It overlooks the course and the terrace is ideal for a drink and a quick post-round debrief. The Claret Jug is the more relaxed option for coffee, lighter bites and an easy pint, and it's especially useful if you've got staggered tee times and people coming and going through the day.
Away from the restaurant and bar, you've also got plenty to do on site. The leisure centre includes a pool, fitness suite, steam room, sauna and whirlpool, while the Serenity Spa offers a range of treatments for anyone who'd rather swap a back nine for a massage. For something more hands-on, the activity company runs archery, go-karting, quad biking and clay pigeon shooting. Needless to say, it's a venue that works well for mixed groups where not everyone's playing 36 holes a day.
Belton Woods is located just outside the hamlet of Belton, two miles north of Grantham and within easy reach of the A1. East Midlands Airport is around 45 minutes away, Lincoln City is a 40-minute drive, and the resort's position in rural Lincolnshire means you're surrounded by open countryside without being cut off from major routes. It's a straightforward destination to reach from most parts of the UK, whether you're driving up from the south or across from the Midlands.

A different test to the lakes...I wouldn't say easier as suggested on handicaps, approaches to some greens were challenging but overall v.good condition again.

Summer golf with the ball travelling further made the course play a little shorter which was great. V.Good condition considering how dry and hot it's been.

Lakes course was absolutely fantastic! The condition and greens all played spectacularly. Only downfall on the day we played Lakes course was that it was a very slow round.

Greens paces on the Woods course were a bit all over the place, this could be due to sudden changes of weather too. Some were very slow, whilst others a very good pace.
