The Benalma Hotel Costa del Sol is a modern 4-star beachfront base in Benalmádena, ideal if you want to mix proper Costa del Sol golf with sea views and an easy, resort-style stay. You're right on the shoreline here, so the non-golfers in the group can get their beach fix while you chase fairways, and it's a handy spot for ticking off a few different courses without living in a taxi.
On site, you have a strong choice of food and drink, from buffet dining to Thai flavours, plus a rooftop bar for a post-round sunset. Rooms are light and contemporary, many with terraces facing the Med, and the overall vibe is relaxed rather than stuffy. In short, it's a solid option for groups who want comfort, convenience and a holiday feel, not a golf hotel that happens to have beds.
Who is this for?
Golfers and groups seeking a beachfront base on the Costa del Sol with access to quality nearby courses, varied dining and a relaxed, modern resort atmosphere.
Who is it best for?
Couples and small groups who want to combine golf with beach time, good food and coastal views, and prefer a contemporary hotel with plenty of on-site options rather than a golf-specific resort.

The Benalma Hotel features 336 rooms across a range of categories, from Deluxe Double rooms through to Junior Suites. Each room is finished in a light, Mediterranean style with clean lines and coastal tones, and most come with a terrace offering views across the sea. The suites add extra space and separation, making them a solid choice for families or anyone planning a longer stay who values a bit more room to spread out. Air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and modern bathrooms are standard across all categories, and the overall feel is contemporary resort rather than traditional Spanish hotel.
The hotel's dining setup is one of its stronger points, with five distinct venues covering everything from casual poolside bites to rooftop sundowners. Bthai Restaurant serves Thai cuisine with the full spectrum of sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavours, while Seaview Kitchen runs a buffet operation built around local Andalusian produce and traditional recipes. It's the kind of setup that works well for groups with varied tastes or families who want choice without leaving the hotel.
For something more relaxed, Bonita Beach Restaurant sits right by the sea with Balinese-inspired decor and a menu focused on Malaga's coastal cuisine. The Lobby Bar on the main floor offers a quieter space for a drink or light snack, with both an interior lounge and a terrace that looks out over the coast. Up on the 12th floor, Nix Sky Bar is the spot for sunset cocktails and street-food-style bites in an open-air setting that's ideal for winding down after a round. Bonita Beach Restaurant and Nix Sky Bar are usually open from April to mid-October, weather depending, but the hotel's other dining venues remain open year-round.
Beyond the rooms and restaurants, the Benalma has a good pool setup, direct beach access and a spa if you want to unwind between rounds. The hotel also has conference facilities and a gym, though most golfers will be more interested in the terrace, the bar and the fact that you can walk straight onto the sand. For golfers, the Benalma works because it balances convenience with comfort. The nearby courses are varied enough to keep a trip interesting, the hotel has the facilities to support a proper break rather than just a place to sleep, and the beachfront location means non-golfers in the group have plenty to do.
If you want us to build this into a 3 or 4-night package with guaranteed tee times at Torrequebrada, Chaparral and Calanova, we can tailor it around your preferred travel dates and handicap mix. It's a straightforward, well-located option that delivers what a Costa del Sol golf break should: good courses, decent food, sea views and enough flexibility to suit different group dynamics.

Room was small but adequate. View was great. Astonished that the mini bar was working but we received absolutely nothing. Not even one single bottle of water. Nothing all inclusive about this There were several other things that were not included. The bar nearest to the pool had snacks but snacks were very limited limited. Restaurant was ok but certainly not the very best. Outside facilities were limited to about 20 loungers and nothing on the beach. Surely a must

We had a three hour wait after check out and the hotel insisted on removing our all inclusive wrist bands. This is the first time I have known this and found it harsh, as there were no late check outs available I would have thought they would let us still eat and drink until we were picked up. They did offer us a voucher for lunch after a bit of discussion but as mentioned this is the first time I have had this happen and thought it was a bit off.
