Opened in 1959, the course was originally designed by the brilliant architectural partnership of Cotton and Harris, however over 40 years later the course was in need of some amendments to protect its international reputation. This task was undertaken by Peter Alliss in 2000.

The 6,542 yard layout has hosted a number of prestigious professional events, as well as the Italian Amateur Championship, and provides a good test for visiting golfers of all abilities. The easy access to the city makes Bologna Golf Club a firm favourite, especially with those enjoying a golf holiday based in the delightful medieval city.
