Situated in the heart of North Cornwall, encompassing 230 acres of rolling hills and woodland, designated within an Area of Special Landscape Value, the Bowood Park Hotel & Golf Club was previously a portion of a 13th-century deer park owned by the Black Prince.

Since its opening in 1992, Bowood Park has established a reputation as one of the Cornwall's premier golfing destinations. The parkland layout was designed by Bob Sandow and was constructed according to USGA specifications to ensure that the putting surfaces remain playable throughout the year.

Bowood Park Golf Course

Bowood Park is a tale of two nine-hole loops; the opening half is relatively forgiving, but visiting players must negotiate the intimidating 7th hole, which at 600 yards is the longest in Cornwall.

Swiftly descending beyond the ancient Lanteglos church, the second nine leads golfers into the serene valley of the river Allen. This idyllic setting is adorned with alluring bluebell woods and babbling streams. The highlight of the course is undoubtedly the 12th hole, a challenging par four spanning 385 yards. Its island green can only be accessed via a covered wooden footbridge, reminiscent of the charm found in New England. As you progress through the course, you will eventually reach the 18th tee. Here, if you manage to drive your ball to the top of the slope, you will be greeted with a commanding view of the clubhouse. A well-deserved drink awaits you there, providing a warm and hospitable welcome.

The par-72 course is a true pleasure to play, and provides an appropriate challenge to golfers of all abilities, making Bowood Park one of the South-West's best golf break destinations.

The facilities include a covered driving range with ten bays, a spacious putting green, a chipping green and a fleet of 20 electric buggies.
