The Summerhill Course, the 18-hole layout at Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club, is a par-70 test that allows spectacular views of the hills to the North of Dumfries. With rolling fairways, this offer the golfers a gentle walk will offering a challenge. Slopping greens mean accuracy helps and don’t always be past the hole.
Dumfries has 2 courses and then only a few miles away you encounter Southerness a fabulous Championship course. These courses over you a great tour in the area, staying at the Holiday Inn this delivers an extremely cost-effective trip.

The fairways are generous, and the course is well-conditioned, ensuring a good test for golfers of all standards. Designed by Willie Fernie, the course is relatively flat throughout, which being in the Scottish Lowlands isn't surprising, and at just over 6,300 yards is a very enjoyable, relaxing experience. Don’t put the long courses on your list play the ones that compliment your game. With dog-legs challenging the golfer, it makes you think and club selection is important off the tee. Don’t hit it too far or through the dog-leg. DCGC, offers all levels of golfers the chance to perform. Their Scottish PGA pro-am brings out many golfers over a weekend from morning to late afternoon, a perfect course and hospitality to enjoy while in the area.

This was the ideal course to warm up on. It is a Parkland course and I am glad that we played it before venturing onto the links courses.

A parkland course that was more than satisfactory. A few 'blind holes' but we all really enjoyed ourselves.
