Forfar Golf Club 1

Forfar Golf Club is located in the charming heart of Angus, and is a delightful gem of a parkland course that can be a great complement to a tour of the coastline's links.

The club is steeped in history with it being the first 18 holes, thought to be delivered by Tom Morris in 1871. To this day the original layout still exists, with of course the normal tweaks all courses have over the course of their life.

Forfar sits perfectly on the route between Dundee & Aberdeen to allow you to stop off and have 18 holes before heading onto your next golfing experience. If heading to Carnoustie or Royal Aberdeen stop off and have 18 holes everyone will enjoy.

Forfar Golf Club

Founded in 1871, the original course was devised by Old Tom Morris of St Andrews, but the course as it is today owes more to the alterations completed in 1926 by James Braid. The Elie man sought to bring a touch of the links to Forfar, and the result is tight and undulating heathland fairways.

Forfar is well known for its excellent putting surfaces, and is a joy to play during the summer months. The signature hole is fittingly named ‘Braid's Best'; the 15th is a beautiful and testing par 4 that measures 412 yards.

The town known in Scotland for its bridies (approximately the Scottish equivalent of a Cornish pasty), also likes to hunt for birdies, so why not follow the lead and head to lovely Forfar during your golf tour in Angus?
