Golf Barriere de Saint-Julien
Just ten minutes from the coastal resort town of Deauville is the Golf Barrière de Saint-Julien complex, where you can enjoy golf in the most beautiful country environment.
The main event at Saint-Julien is Le Vallon, the excellent championship course. Unlike many of Northern France's coastal courses, Le Vallon has the distinct feel of an American resort course, and will certainly favour the long hitters. The 6,638 yard course is not the most difficult in the local area, but the speed of the greens is renowned, so a tight short game is essential.
At the heart of the stunning Pays d'Auge countryside, Saint-Julien also has a tricky nine-hole layout. Le Bocage's par-33 track is the perfect practice ground for budding stars, while those looking to wind down their golfing careers will be equally at home.

The course has suffered from wet weather and needed to be mown more (perhaps we just went on the wrong day) - don't get me wrong - it is a lovely well laid out course and an enjoyable experience.

A perfectly acceptable course with a few 'stand out' holes including the first which, for a first hole was particularly challenging. It will not go down as one of the most memorable courses we've played but, on the other hand, it was a very pleasant round of golf. YGT arranged a club house 30%discount on drinks which was much appreciated and the welcome and service we received in the clubhouse was very good indeed. As the rounds were included in the overall cost of our package I can't tell whether it represented good value for money but we met a group who had arranged their holiday themselves and paid £65 per round which we felt, for the quality of the course was a little on the high side.

We played on a wet day and they were just sanding the greens in front of us so unable to putt properly, so felt very cheated as we were not advised this was happening. Course was not the tidiest no on course toilet facilities, would not recommend.
