1 Night, 2 Rounds
Set in 236 acres of Lancashire countryside and just three miles from Blackpool's famous promenade, Village Hotel Herons' Reach is a very easy north-west stay-and-play option. You've got the fantastic course on your doorstep, a modern hotel for the night and plenty to do when the golf's done, whether that's a quiet pint or the bright lights of the seafront.
The parkland course is a Peter Alliss and Clive Clark design and it's water, water and more water that shapes the round. Lakes, streams and ponds come into play on twelve holes, so it's less about smashing driver everywhere and more about picking the right club, committing to your line and taking your chances when they're there. If you're the sort who likes a course to keep you honest, you'll enjoy it. If you're having a wobbly day off the tee, it's the sort of course where a little restraint saves strokes and golf balls.
Off the course, Blackpool is ten minutes away by car for arcades, the Tower and a lively night out. If your group is mixed, Blackpool Zoo, Stanley Park and the Model Village & Gardens are within walking distance, which makes this a practical base even when not everyone is golfing.
Who is this for?

The signature hole is undoubtedly the 9th, a testing par-4 at 446 yards, with the famous Blackpool tower in the background. The course has been recognised recently by the English Golf Union, and been awarded the PGA North Region Championships, emphasising the quality of the layout.
In addition, there are also facilities for game improvement, including a 17-bay floodlit driving range, and a chipping and putting area.
Village Pub and Grill offers all day dining with a selection of pub classics, healthy options and a range of your favourite drinks. Get your caffeine fix at the on-site Starbucks serving all of your favorite hot and cold drinks and snacks.
In the summer, thirsty visitors can enjoy a refreshing drink on the outdoor deck and patio at Nineteen East Park Drive.
The Village Hotel sits right by the course, so you can keep the logistics simple: breakfast, a short stroll to the first tee and you're away. It's a modern, functional golf-break hotel with the facilities you actually use on a trip, plus a few extras if you're making a weekend of it.
There are 174 newly refurbished rooms, each set up for a comfortable night after 18 holes. Expect a Sealy bed, a modern en-suite bathroom, free Wi-Fi and Sky TV including Sky Sports, plus tea and coffee, a hairdryer and ironing facilities. It's not trying to be boutique, but it's clean, practical and geared towards golfers who want to sleep well and get back out there.
For downtime, the Health & Fitness Club includes a 21-metre swimming pool, a well-equipped gym and a squash court. It's handy for loosening up before you play or keeping non-golfers occupied while you're on the course. Food and drink is straightforward too, with the on-site Pub & Grill serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's ideal for post-round pints and an easy evening meal without needing taxis or a long drive.
If you do fancy heading out, Blackpool's promenade and seafront bars are around ten minutes away by car, while Blackpool Zoo and the Model Village & Gardens are within walking distance. The combination of on-site golf, comfortable rooms and easy access to one of the UK's busiest seaside resorts gives Village Hotel Herons Reach a flexibility that's hard to match elsewhere in the north-west. You can keep it quiet and golf-focused, or you can make a proper weekend of it with a night or two in town. Either way, the hotel gives you a solid base and the course gives you a proper test without being punishing.

Great accomodation can't fault it but they need to invest in air conditioning bit warm in the rooms

Everything is fantastic apart from when you want to get in touch with clubhouse by phone which is an absolute nightmare as goes through a central call centre for all village hotels and eventually it usually cuts you off

Course was under improvement so 8th hole closed but didn't detract. Teeing areas are bit rough but overall the course is exceptional and a delight to play.

Greens are immaculate a lot of work being done on some bunkers and one hole was shut because of this which is why only a three star rating but this is obviously temporary and will enhance the course more

Slow play first day. Got stuck behind Seniors Match. Second day mix up with tee times. Group of 80+ members of golf society in front with wrong tee times. Came in after 9 holes after 2.45 mins to do front 9.
