Set in the heart of Camiral Golf & Wellness Resort, Hotel Camiral is surrounded by spectacular golf courses and gorgeous countryside views. Inside, the look is contemporary and uncluttered, with spacious, stylish spaces and every amenity you could want for a golf break. Check-in is slick and the team are used to golfers, so early starts, late finishes and group arrivals are all handled without fuss.
Rooms come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen satellite TV, air conditioning, Illy coffee machines and elegant, roomy bathrooms. There is space to spread out your kit and unwind after 18 holes, and the beds are the sort you will be glad of after a day on the Stadium course. Step outside the room and the resort comes into its own, with plenty of ways to eat, drink and relax when you are off the fairways.
The 1477 restaurant is the main event, serving exquisite European cuisine with a Catalonian twist. Dine inside or out, which makes it ideal for a long dinner as the light fades over the course. If you have an early tee time, breakfast service is well set up for golfers and the staff are used to tight turnarounds, so you will not be left waiting for coffee when the starter is calling.
Afterwards, head to the Lounge Bar to work through the exclusive cocktail list or sample the impressive whiskey selection. It is the ideal spot for a relaxed debrief with your playing partners, replaying the key holes and settling a few bets without needing to dress the place up. For groups, the bar and terrace are practical as well as pleasant, with room to spread out and plenty of seating when everyone arrives at once.
The Wellness Centre is built for recovery. Soak in the hydrotherapy pool or settle into the herbal steam room, then book one of the spa treatments designed to leave you feeling on top of the world. It is especially welcome after a day on the Stadium course, and a good option for non-playing partners who want a day of their own. If spa time matters, book treatments around your tee times early, as peak slots go quickly in season.
No Spanish trip is complete without some Mediterranean sun, and the 25-metre pool is the place to enjoy it. A poolside bar serves food and drinks, so there is little reason to move once you have found your sunlounger. It is a lovely way to spend a rest day between rounds, or to wind down on the final afternoon before your flight.

The hotel is wonderful and while it is very expensive the rooms, layout and staff are exemplary. Little personal touches help punctuate the stay but it is the best resort and location we have ever stayed in. Will be back for 3rd year on the bounce next year!
