The Old Course at Nefyn is one of the United Kingdom's best kept secrets, and rivals almost anything in terms of its spectacular situation. A tiny promontory that juts out from the Llyn Peninsula into the Irish Sea is the setting for ‘golf on the edge of the world', as Nefyn has been dubbed by many.

Similarly to Old Head at Kinsale, Nefyn offers amazing sea views on three sides from the promontory, and keeping your eyes on the course in front of you can be the biggest challenge. Originally a nine hole course, Nefyn was extended by the revered duo of James Braid and J.H. Taylor, and now boasts 26 holes. Unusually, Nefyn has a standard outward ten holes, and two different inward sets of 8 holes, which adds much to the experience.
Heather, blind drives and devilish bunkers are among the hazards that await the hardy Nefyn golfer, who on a clear day may be able to spot the peaks of the Wicklow Mountains across the Irish Sea. There are few more amazing places to enjoy links golf in the UK, so make Nefyn Old Course a priority on your next golf tour in Nefyn and Harlech.
Nefyn Golf Club is ranked as one of the best courses in Wales

Day 2 and it's warmer and sunny but still breezy. Played the championship 18 not the spectacular point. Scored well and coped better than Royal St David's with the conditions. Another great days golf making for a brilliant trip for our four-ball. Greens were dryer and quicker and rolled true. A good test of golf with beautiful scenery that frames most holes. Plenty of photo opportunities available to help save the memories of the visit.

Stunning views and a really interesting first few holes playing against the rocky coastline. Definitely Pebble beach vibes! The clubhouse and pro shop are no frills but nice and pleasant enough. Driving range was closed which was disappointing but the course made up for it.

Very windy so much harder, front 9 against the wind, brutal. People walking through the course a bit which we knew, held us up a bit

We played 10 holes on the championship and then 8 on the headland. The 3rd on the headland / old course has been lost to storm damage and the 4th has a temporary green, shortening the hole by 50 yards. Good experience to play the headland old course, very tight!!

Beautiful views and the course is fabulous. Unfortunately we got stuck behind 2 4 balls who seemed to be oblivious to the queue forming behind them
