Olgiata Golf Club is one of the best golf courses in Rome having hosted the very crop of both amateur and professional tournaments since opening in 1962. The honours board includes the likes of Tony Jacklin, Dame Laura Davies, Edoardo Molinari and Ian Poulter so it is clear to see that Olgiata Golf Club is a course that has enjoyed a rich championship pedigree.

The West Course received a complete renovation in 2012 by Jim Fazio to take the course forward into the realms of Championship golf. Fazio’s work saw no less than 15 of the holes undergo renovation. With Italy set to become a very central part of this with The Ryder Cup set for Milan in 2022, Olgiata Golf Club is well placed to join this boom of Italian golf on the world stage. Located around 12 miles from Central Rome, Olgiata Golf Course is the perfect addition for anyone seeking a top quality golf course as part of their Italian golfing adventure.

Olgiata Golf Club

With Championship golf very much at the forefront of what is on offer at Olgiata Golf Club golfers are presented with a wealth of tee options and no less than 3 different pars to tackle of 71, 72 and 73 depending on how the course is presented. With the championship markers setting the course out at over 7,600 yards it is clear to see just how much space is available around this mature layout. Golfers heading for the yellows are in for a more sedate distance with the course closer to 6,600 yards.

The course has provided some fantastic scoring opportunities in the past with both Ian Poulter and Angel Cabrera sharing the course record at an incredible 61!

Expect a round of golf that meanders through mature umbrella pines, similar that you’ll see on the very best courses in The Algarve or Costa del Sol, as well as offering subtle undulation changes as you find yourself playing onto fast greens that’ll test your putting to the max. Olgiata Golf Course is consistently well regarded and is currently ranked 7th in Italy by Top 100 Golf Courses.
