PGA National Course at The Belfry

Greens fantastic, a few nice holes but a few just looked bland , probably look better in summer if the rough was higher, bunkers & tee boxes need a bit of attention , scruffy in places

Much better experience than the Brabazon. An inland linksy type feel to it & some very tricky holes. Only gripe was the 18th hole - they've shortened it to make room for the new health club and turned it into a bit of an anti climax hole.

Great course. more a links type course but the half way house was brilliant and the speed of the round was much quicker.

We had one of our best 4-balls ever on the PGA. It is a really engaging course and not a punishing as the Brabazon. A real treat to play and we were not held up at all. Brilliant.

The PGA was a far better experience than the Brabazon. You could walk every fairway, and upto every green with very minimal restrictions. The PGA just isn’t as well maintained as the Brabazon but still a really enjoyable course to play.

Stupid group in front of me waiting for greens to be clear and they were mostly 350y plus into wind. Staff need to be more proactive when advising of pace of play

I think maybe this is the hardest course, especially if your not a long hitter, greens well protected by massive bunkers

Lovely layout to the corse, most greens were good a couple were patchy. Fairways were as to be expected following the hot weather throughout the summer.

The Ground was like concrete due to the recent dry weather and the fact that there had been a PGA tournament on the Brabazon Course so all efforts to water and maintain the course had been concentrated on that course. This was advised to us by the starter of the course so was a bit of a downer.

Harder than the Derby but well worth it. Preferred this course out of the two. Beautiful conditions. The bunkers are nothing like my course. Had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to come again

Patchy greens poor conditions on the fairways

A great mix of links style and parkland holes. Rough very long and easy to lose balls, fairway’s incredibly hard and fast, pity the ball always seemed to run into bunker or rough. Lots of work going on preparing for The British Masters.

A very different course to the Brabazon, being more links-like, which was a fun contrast. It had some memorable holes, though the conditioning was less good, especially the greens. The 18th hole has been cut down to a 260 yd par 4, to accommodate the new corporate building next to clubhouse, which makes for a disappointing finish to the round.

Enjoyable for a links course, not too long, with plenty of water and bunkers. Beautiful greens. I’m more of a parkland fan, but enjoyed this track.

Very enjoyable. Greeted by Terry at the 1st whom was very helpful. He was also course marshal and did manage to speed up slow play ahead of us. Terrific bunkers and some water. Testing but not ridiculous! Beautiful scenery.

Large group of none golfers in front slowed pace a little. But all have to learn.

the greens on the PGA National course were in poor condition,with unrepaired pitch marks, unmaintained greens (discolouration andunevenness), and even divots, particularly on the 16th hole. Additionally, both course tee boxes were unacceptable—with little to nomaintenance, uneven surfaces, and a general disregard for maintainingstandards. This is not acceptable for a course of The Belfry’s reputation. Both rounds took over 5 hours to complete, which is excessively long andsignificantly detracted from our enjoyment.

The staff in the pro shop, the guys doing the carts and bag drop and the starters are first class

I’ve averaged as I played better on this course but did find lots of bunkers, the Green seemed to be faster, but it was great fun

Great course and very interesting. Bunkers placed to catch you out. Slow round for us as the 3 ball infront of us " 4 ball" held us up from the 2nd hole. And never invited us to play through.

Bit more space off the tee versus the Derby course, but plenty of bunkers to keep you on your toes and plenty of second shots require a longer iron.

We had around 50 mph winds and very gusty on the day. Fairways, bunkers and tees need a bit more attention but greens were exceptional.

Felt course condition was very poor….bare patches on lots of fairway areas. Greens were better and bunkers light sand. Toilet at half way was dirty and had paint peeling. Disappointing for the Belfry in my opinion. Enjoyed the challenging course and deep bunkers but expected more from a premier course and location. My local club is far better maintained.

Little sand in bunkers which was disappointing. Greens were excellent. Pins in very difficult locations.

Lovely course with fast running fairways and greens, some really difficult holes mixed in with some slightly more forgiving.

Much better than the Brabazon due to the Greens, the closing holes are very ho-hum after a tough opening few and a solid middle section. The starter was also not the friendlies chap

Parkland/ links feel to the course. Recommend a trolley as it is a long walk. Lovely halfway house at 13th hole.

Nice course

Different experience to the Brabazon with a links layout. Bunkers all positioned exactly where you wouldn't want them and some are enormous. Greens were better than the brabazon but the pin positions when we played made approaches almost impossible.

My favourite course , my best ever round .

Considering the time of year, the general condition was very good. I enjoyed the links-type layout and the fact that huge number of fairway bunkers forced you into plotting your way around.

Liked the course decent condition and will enjoy the sunshine to get it up to scratch greens are fast and the course is challenging and fun with not too much water after the first 3 holes

Very nice course. Played pretty much from white tees due to winter. Halfway house good. 1 temp on the 18th which we weren’t aware of which was very disappoint as you come onto the 18th. Turned a great looking drivable par 4 to a 190 yard par 4 with a temp green on the fairway.

Great experience Pace wise a little slow but only as we were a 2-ball in a buggy behind a 2-ball on foot. Marshalls were fantastic in ensuring pace of play was ok. Roger and Peter top notch

Preferred the Brabazon

Had an amazing time. Golf course was in great condition considering the weather. Want to thank Sam from YGT. He was easy to book with. Definitely be calling him again to book our next trip. Thank you 5 stars.

The PGA course is outstanding, everything you'd expect of a course of that standard.

Everyone thinks the Brabazon is the hardest of the 3 courses on site its the most famous but PGA National is harder. The little touches were lacking for such a prestigious location, ball cleaners without water and loose tops etc. The biggest issue we had is that our group was split on the 1st of our 6 tee times meaning some of us couldn't play together, a complaint via the starter to the manager failed to rectify the situation and actually end up with the blame put squarely on YGT staff.

Long course, very nice condition

Loved this course. The 1st tee was moved forward because of the grandstands and turned into a par 3 but that wasn't an issue. We have Terry at the tee box to explain the course and how it plays and he was so lovely and gave us encouragement and tips for our round. The course plays 5 away from you and then 8 over a small road before you come back and play the last 5. It is a links styled course and it was so amazing to play. The course was in amazing condition and I couldn't fault it one bit. I would 1000% play this again. I actually preferred this to the Brabazon because I actually slept the night before!!

The wind was whisling and we found it really tough. Cavenous and numerous bunkers with shallow sand and only one rake per bunker (meant a lot of walking around the bunkers to retrieve). But that's a minor point. It was overall a tough and wonderful experience. Worth every lost ball.

I found this course the hardest of the 3. Too hard for a club golfer. Still very enjoyable, more like a links course.

A tough course, plenty of bunkers, I went in 10. Greens were great,quite a slow round.

Course in good condition greens were in good condition, not quite as quick as the other courses but true. the difference with this course is not to stray too far from the fairways as there is really thick and long grass usually meaning lost ball

Very slow at the start but did speed up during the back nine. It is a hard course but there are some great holes which test your golfing skills.

Very slow play - two groups on tee throughout

It was one of the hardest rounds I have had in the UK - largely due to the wind. The yellow tees were mainly off the whites so that made it extra difficult. The course was immaculate and a great test for golfers. Some holes felt a bit samey but it was a good links-style course with a lot of testing tee shots.

This is like what we are used to at home, as we play links golf and the rough is brutal in places. Some really good holes here.

As we arrived early we were able to change our tee time,this gave us a clear round.

Firstly really disappointed that the driving range and short game area were both closed, especially as yhe staff weren't aware, so we had a long walk to find a sign saying closed and locked doors. The course was great, however again quite a few bunkers were needing some sand in them.

Had the first tee off, and not paired up thank god. Was a great course, loved it 😍 Experience how it should be .

Goose poo everywhere! Some fairways in a poor condition. Bunkers did not have enough sand in them, just like the Brabazon.

If you are not a straight hitter.. just stay away, the moment your ball goes off the fairway you are not going to find it.. lost 12 balls in 6 holes and I'm a 10 handicap.

A much harder course with so many bunkers and water hazards - a big test for the average golfer but enjoyable

Another great course. Played it in heavy rain which made things more difficult. Got very wet under foot but still the greens were amazing.

Greens here were a little slower than the other two courses, and the condition was not as good as the other two when we played...Still, a good challenge!

Another long course but shorter and slightly easier than the Brabazon, though not by much, our scores were higher than on the first 2 days possibly helped by it being a calm day. In very good condition, greens very good and a more open course, not so many lost balls!

Considering the bad weather we have had this year, we didn’t have to play off matts and the course was in very good condition! Golf carts and trolleys were allowed! Greens were in very good condition.

For a group of social golfers who play occasionally, this was a hard course! The back 9 was easier though. Glad to have played it though.

The course was unplayable. It was like a marsh, we were expecting alligators to appear. The fairways were not cut, many greens had pools of water. The weather was dreadful. The course should not have been open. This was not a round of golf but rather an exercise of endurance and self restraint as we wanted to bitterly complain. We were so looking forward to experiencing the PGA course as we heard great things about its quality and challenge. We gave up keeping score as it was not golf but a misery of plugged and lost balls. I have never been so wet and covered in mud in all my years of golfing, we were thoroughly disappointed.

This course was carry only, but was a complete joke. We were ankle deep in mud, although the greens were ok.

You have to accept the course was wet and boggy in places but at least open. Carry bags only, difficult for me with a broken back. Greens lovely. With ball constantly plugging you lose the odd ball and course plays long. But it was playable

Terrible condition due to extremely wet and boggy conditions. Plugged balls in the middle of the fairway. Course was unplayable therefore overall experience and value for money was very poor.

Although the fairway conditions were poor and boggy, considering the amount of rain that we have had, it was still far better than many other courses we`ve played recently. That being said the greens were imaculate (on both courses)

The bar was set very high having played the Brabazon on day one. Terry was fantastic on the 1st Tee box(we had him on day one also) he kindly informed us not to expect the same conditions as the Brabazon. Greens were great, walking the course was extremely difficult, very soft and muddy under foot, loosing balls in the fairway for being plugged didn't help, overall finishing of the trip slightly down. Had we had known this information at the start we probably would have played the courses in a different order to finish on a high.

Simply ,the course should have been closed .In 50 years golfing, that's the worst condition I've ever seen .

It would be a great course in the summer, however everything plugged making it impossible to find the balls. Shots into the fairway were still lost due to the plugging.

The course was sodden and we lost balls on a number of fairways. There were times when the water levels were over the shoes and we ended up with wet feet. One of my playing buddies injured himself when his foot gave way due to the condition of the ground. In all honesty the course should have been closed.

It rained heavily the night before and it was carry only. One person couldn’t carry so didn’t play. The course was very wet and in my opinion unplayable, we should have walked off by the 6th really but carried on which didn’t make the round very enjoyable. When we finished it was explained that we could have been given adverse weather voucher for a return game, but wasn’t told this before hand. It wasn’t a good finish to enjoyable three days, waiting a reply from the belfry regarding the pga course

Considering this was the lesser course compared to brabazon, enjoyed this round more, the fairways were not cut at all though which was very disappointing. Good course

again very wet and the standards of this course were a lot lower than the Brabazon and felt like it was just a course that had been added to cater for the PGA with them being based there.

Terrible condition, the course was so wet your feet sunk. The fairways were as long as the rough and it’s a snot cut at all. The course should not have been open as it was too wet!

We visit after a lot of rain. Fairways were soaking wet, balls plugged. Hadn’t been able to cut the grass making life very difficult. Greens very slow and not in best condition due more to weather than lack of attention

Course was practically unplayable. Fairways were waterlogged and we lost numerous balls on the fairways with balls plugging. We were told at the pro shop on arrival that all local courses were closed, and it was obvious pretty quickly, that this course should have been closed as well. We were also told that the course had been like this for some time (due to constant rainfall) and as we had traveled some distance, it would have been nice to have this information prior to making the journey, so we could make an informed decision.

Magnificent course. Weather was good on the day. Course condition was still great considering the heavy rain we had whole week. Overall experience is really great and definitely playing there again.

It’s hard to judge based on the amount of rain we’ve had. The course was very boggy in areas and the greens had just been sanded so weren’t running particularly nice at all however at the end of November not sure what to expect. I would say the course did not wow us at all and probably couldn’t pick any particular hole as a standout.

The course was very wet and some fairway lies were unplayable. The bunkers had not been raked for some time and were rock solid. It was not a pleasant experience.

This course was presented in an extremely poor condition and it felt like it had not been properly maintained over a long period of time, the owners should be ashamed. The semi rough and fairways were non existent due to lack of regular cutting, balls were not only difficult to find but easily lost on the fairway which is just totally unacceptable. The time gaps of 5mis between groupings is way to short and you are have consistently have to wait until the group ahead has moved on before paying their shot as are they. Time spent looking for balls on fairway was bad enough but on semi rough just unacceptable, a lot of lost balls as a direct consequence, and wasted time. 5 and half hours to play this neglected course totally spoiled the golf and expectations it felt like we were taken for mugs. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE TOTAL RIP OFF

Greens were good and fast but fairways were not very well maintained with little definition between fairways and semi rough

It is my 5th time playing the PGA and considering the weather the course had experienced earlier that week it was in great condition, trollies and buggies were not allowed but for a small hire fee me and my son got carry bags, enjoyable as always credit to all the greens staff in keeping it playable in the toughest of circumstances.

not the courses fault but course was very wet. The derby seemed to be drier so not sure why there was a difference. That being said, a lovely course and would recommend.

Loved every minute playing this course, an inland links course that keeps you guessing all the way round, and yes, damned hard haha !! It was occasionally a bit slow but the wait times just meant you got to sit back ( I had a buggie ) and enjoy some spectacular scenery and remember where you were. This course was in excellent condition in every respect. I cannot wait t play it again.

Very nice course layout and design. There were many holes that made you think hard about how best to play them. Glad I got to play it twice. Inland links courses generally lack the scenery of a coastal links course. This one was no different. Greens very well maintained and very quick. Tee boxes less so. Regularly found tee off positions on sloping and uneven lies.

Too me personally, I think this is the hardest course, it's long, loads of bunkers, loads of undulating lies, and fast greens.

Excellent layout, great course only issue was the lack of sand in the bunkers.

Very good course but a few of the holes are very similar, but in great condition and not easy.

We had a disappointing start when we went to collect our buggies we were told that 8 buggies were broken so we were given complementary motorcaddies. It was a nice gesture but after most of us had spent nearly 3 hours in the car getting to the belfry and we saw a huge corporate group go off with all their buggies it was a little hard to accept. However when some buggies returned the staff did send some out and approximately half our group of 16 played the last 9 holes or so in a buggy. Moaning part over, The course was in great condition and played very well. It was obviously testing but you also had the feeling you could get after it! I would definitely be back to play the PGA National course. The starter Terry was also very informative and helpful! A great first course to start our trip!

The course was in fantastic shape. the greens fast but true. The pace of play was slow but okay.

We played the course twice in 3 days. Older players would be well advised to hire buggies.

Bunkers were hard with not much sand in, some patchy fairways and some tees were not flat. many of the semi rough around greens were patchy and inconsistent.

The course was wonderful, a great treat. The greens and fairways were hard and fast. The only letdown was the bunkers, some people weren't raking the bunkers and lack of sand in them made them a nightmare to get out off. Not pleasant

PGA was a good test and the greens slick but rough brutal in places.

Clearly a lot of foot traffic on this course, and still better than the Derby course. Tee boxes need work as most very uneven. Greens weren't in greatest of shapes either. Buggies at 50 seems steep, but captive audience.

The round was made harder due to the wind but as a group we preferred it to The Brabazon, but the greens were great and the fairways manicured, definitely will be back

It was very very wet when we played, so that's made a difference. Course was good but conditions made it difficult.

Bland, forgettable, few stand out holes apart from the most boring par 3 ever, the 11th, and the joke of an 18th. My GPS watch clearly had the old 18th green stored in it but it's now a 6 iron and a flick, which was ideal as I couldn't wait to get off in spite of playing well which is rare....long walks between greens and tees and signs to next tee non existent, would have been OK in a buggy but as so wet still even in mid May, no buggies so a tortuos walk made for a slow round. Fairways really long with no definition, like playing from semi rough, which with winter rules in place, made it ok for higher 'caps but not golfers used to better, tighter fairways. A few blind/semi-blind tee shots not ideal for golfers playing for the first time ie 14th hole being a prime example. Greens rolled well though. Bring your own drinks or be prepared to get your trousers taken down at the half way house....

Worst condition golf course I’ve played in a long time

good generally, felt like some general maintenance around the fairways could be done as didn't feel like a National course. fairways and greens were good, bunkers had old clogged sand even due to wet weather.

The course was it great condition considering the recent rain, seemed surprisingly long, but I think that was due to no run on the fairway

Very long the yellow markers were on the white plates almost & with no run it made it very long.

Inland links was quite windy on the day making holes even longer very wet on fairways greens slowest of the 3 couses but all in good condition Long walk

Despite the 5.5 hour round, and playing in the pouring rain, the course was a great challenge and good fun. The weather made it harder but the greens held up well and ran smoothly. Didn’t see a single Marshall out on the course despite the slow play. Took us just under 3 hours to finish the front 9. Almost missed a dinner booking that was 6 hours after we teed off.

Difficult weather condition made the course a slog.

Wet fairways in places

Very tough conditions. Windy and parts of the course boggy. Alot of rain overnight meant buggies were not in use. So, a bit unlucky there. Greens were very fast. Lets say it was challenging in those conditions.

Really disappointed we had not been informed that trolley's were not allowed on course. we had to hire carry bags. If we had known we would have brought our own. Not what we had expected at a premium course. This certainly didn't help the overall experience.

I think it was a little to early in the year for this course.

Great condition, played all 3 courses and this was the worst for drainage on the fairways. However still good compared to most

Trolleys allowed on course today, greens were in better condition than the brabazon only because of the essential maintenance taking place, which is understandable

Again very disappointed the course was open and had to play in the condition the course was in,Standing water all over the fairways,couldn’t take a shot with all the water,very disappointing,only played some of the holes before walking off.

The on course greens were outstanding although not having a practice putting Green open on the whole resort was an issue. Given the time of year the course condition was fair, nowhere near as well manicured as the Brabazon but playable. If you’re a player that likes to see the bottom of the pin on approach shots then this is not the course for you, most of the greens are raised and undulating!!

Tee time booked was different to what The Belfry had us done for. We booked in at 11:15 for our 11:55 tee time to be told we should have gone out at 11:05…

Should never let people tee off at 12-05. The pace of play was very slow and had to walk the last two hole’s because of the light. Not happy at all. Very disappointed

Overall course conditions were fabulous apart from the bunkers which were like clay. Due to heavy rainfall bunkers should have been played GUR

Loved every minute of this course, tough in places but played really well. was a little slow but it was busy so no issues at all.

Certainly easier than the Brabazon but very enjoyable and still a wonderful challenge. Less trees and water than the main course but some huge bunkers and a green linkys feel to the holes.

On a windy day its more of a challenge, par 4's into wind just never end. Great course

The PGA course was in good condition and the greens were good. We enjoyed playing the course.

The course was in decent condition but more work can be done on the fairways and bunkers. The tees were ok and the greens were very good.

Greens were true and in fantastic condition, the rough seemed to be cut down to the hot weather we have had over the summer, but the course was a Good challenge and really enjoyed playing it.

We played off of the white tees and it was windy. But we all got round ok some long par 3's none less than 185yds.Greens were fantastic but could do with some extra signage to show you the next tee.

The course was fantastic! Very wide fairways to help us big hitters out.

Links type course. The fairways were not watered so were running fast and hard. Greens were fast.

Would have been 5 star for condition but we played the Brabazon first which was superb.

Enjoyed the course, but we were stuck behind a group of 4 who spent more time looking for balls than hitting shots and had very poor course etiquette. This slightly took the gloss off the experience overall.

Long grass each side of fairways where you will lose balls. Main part of course is un-manicured with no wow factor. The greens were patchy and poor compared to what I am used to playing on all over Surrey. The 17th is a nothing hole; on 18th beware those with GPS as the green has been foreshortened to make way for a bar/childrens area which looks un-used (maybe due to Covid) but can that excuse spoiling what was a good finishing hole - our view was to play the last two holes off white tee and keep left off 18th tee as water/pond on right is long to carry.

Very hard course to play eapecially in high winds. Obviously time isnt put into this course as much as the brabazon. Half way hut shut just as we arrived at 17:00. I wouldnt play this course again.

What a different course this was the the Brabazon, an in land lynx style course with undulations everywhere! The greens weee quick and very difficult to read, but what a day, just brilliant again!

Enjoyed our round on the PGA with some challenging holes and some troublesome bunkers to contend with( must improve). Thankfully a sunny day for us to enjoy the course which was in great condition.

Our group favourite course of the two we played, the greens were superb, very quick and overall the course condition was excellent...no complaints only praise!!

Great course with bunkers placed exactly where you don't want them. Testing greens that are fast with undulations and grain that really need a careful examination before pulling the trigger.

Was a fair course for all of our players. Enjoyable round.

This course was very busy on a Saturday around midday, but the course is exceptional. Highly recommended.

It was our first time here and we thought the course was amazing. The greens were really fast. The bunkers are well maintained. It is a beautiful course to play on.All the staff were helpful and gave good advice before we played. We thoroughly enjoyed our two rounds.

Lovely enjoyable difficult course modelled on a links course , fairways and greens in excellent condition the only thing for me that let it down were the bunkers which were very difficult to get out of due to the very thin layer of sand so found it hard to get under my ball which kept finding the bunkers , but that’s a very small moan !overall excellent experience

Sadly after the Brabazon. Playing the PGA is truly disappointing. Feels the money has been spent on the main 18 and the PGA sits like a little norther receiving the hand me down clothes.... Fairways weren't cut, the course is poorly manicured... In fairness the greens were true. But it's a fairly dull course without much excitement. Stick to playing 2 rounds at the Brabazon.

I found this course really challenging, there’s some long Par 4’s for someone of my skills. That said, the greens were excellent and you had to plot your way around carefully.

Excellent experience on a hard course

Course had, had a lot of traffic..some tees were very rough...greens were good ..but bunkers were not raked; but this was down to on Course previous golfers playing in front, who don't appreciate or respect the course and other golfers. But overall we played as a two ball and it was played at a good pace.

Group of 16 went and were all buzzing at how fast the greens were and how challenging the course was. Felt like you were on a proper course compared to what we play at our clubs

With a little bit of love and effort this could be a top track. You can tell all the investment goes into The Brabazon which is a shame but understandable I guess. The greens were very good much better that the Brabazon. Tee boxes were a bit scruffy similar to the Brabazon and plenty of areas where a bit of tidying up would have made a better impression. Overall enjoyed this course much more. One point to note, we had a single player attempt to join us on the 15th who had pushed in seemingly. He said he was playing the loop? He was wearing tracksuit bottoms and had airpods in which seemed strange - he then asked to join the 2 ball in front who also declined - Marshalls where are you..?? Clearly this person had not paid a fee and had simply walked onto the course.

When we first arrived at the shop we were very disappointed to find out no trolleys were allowed this time of year on the course. I suppose I could have checked with the Belfry but this maybe something you could notify before we leave. The fact we had to hire pencil bags when we all have carry bags at home had we known. The front nine was very slow due to delayed stay because of fog. This couldn't be helped of course. We did manage to move a little quicker back nine.

Tough course with alot of character. Enjoyed the course. Early fog meant people were sent out too quickly leading to a very slow round.

Easier than Brabazon - very enjoyable.

Unfortunately due to the weather the course was extremely wet and very boggy in places.

How it can be called a pga course I am not sure, felt like someone had put some greens in a field. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Nothing Anyone can do about the rain but the course was very wet underfoot compared to the brabazon which we played a day apart. Maybe drainage better?

An easier course to navigate than the Brabazon but still quite tricky, Terry the starter said don't go in the rough, you might find your ball but you won't be able to play it, he was right. Described as a links course and actually it played a lot like one and looked a lot like one, enjoyed it.

Better then The Derby, greens were lovely. Bit slower to get round but mainly I feel, because it was Saturday afternoon & more difficult to play then The Derby.

Course is a very hard test of golf and with the hot weather it played so much harder. More grass on the fairways would of helped. Pace of play was slow but again down to the weather and course conditions.

Best golf out of the three days. Course was a bit dry but was definitly a lot quicker than the other courses we played.

The course was very dry, which meant the fairways weren’t at their best. The greens though were in very good condition.

Greens could have been a little better on this one for the price of the round. Some great holes visually with a good mix of challenging and easy holes. Rough a lot more of a feature here - more links style layout. Disappointing that they shortened the 18th to make way for an outdoor bar area in the sake of more money, making the hole far less interesting

Lovely course if let down by the last two holes which are a touch underwhelming. Personally not far off as good as the Brabazon and certainly better value. These two are clearly a cut above the Derby which whilst fine and well maintained is nothing to write home about.

We found the course in the same excellent condition as the Brabazon. Probably not as much water so therefore slightly easier both playing and on the mind!!

Great course in great condition. Plenty of bunkers for those off line. Marshall’s ensure that the pace of play is good.

Enjoyable golf ..but surprised at what appeared to be lack of course maintenance T-off area not well kept very ‘divitty and lumpy.. and once again rubbish on the course . Overall quite disappointing in comparison to my previous visit.

The course punished anything not hit straight the rough was upto 4 ft high and anything in it was lost but the layout and conditions were superb

I find it harder than the Brabazon. Approaches to the greens are offset. Club selection is paramount

This is an excellent course, relatively forgiving fairways however if you are too wide the rough is very long and you will be lucky to find your ball! Definitely an interesting layout - no two holes are the same and they informed us they are trying to get the Ryder Cup on this course in the future. Worth playing!

Great condition, great way to warm up for the main event (Brabazon) had two non golfers in the party of ten and the staff/starters were more than happy to let them walk round with us. None of the stuffiness you sometimes get at big clubs just friendly, helpful advice. Thank you to all the staff.

This course is a gem. Breaks into a links style after a few holes and with the wind up it played like a true links. Only complaint would be the shortening of the last hole. Whilst it looks good the course deserves a better finishing hole. Only a small complaint as the round was very enjoyable. Lovely course.

Shot the round of my life with a gross 68 so can’t complain too much. The pace of play in front was slow but the Marshall assured us this was normal

As per the first day when we played the Brabazon, having stayed on an overnight stay for two, to play the Brabazon and the PGA and 5 minutes before Tee off, when we attended, the starting marshals hut, we found we were being paired up with another 2 Ball, to make a 4 Ball, who were complete strangers to us. I think this is very wrong, unfair and a serious health risk forcing strangers together given the current COVID-19 Pandemic situation and not advising this was to be the case, intention of the Club.

Hard course for an 18 handicapper but loved it all the same. Lots of fun bunkers to navigate my way out of but beautiful course, and in exceptional condition.

Very slow round 5 hours should of only taken 4 .

Possibly the most difficult golf course I have played but still very enjoyable and a great experience.

An excellent course. Was immaculate, well looked after. Hard course but enjoyed it very much. 5 and half hours was very slow waiting for other golfers.

Very disappointed ☹️ Are tee booking was for 2pm , we were informed on arrival that we would not be able to complete our round due to speed of play and sunset ,hence are round finished on the 15th green , contact through the all process has been poor . The Belfry said that YGT said they had informed me of this , you didn’t.

Not as good as Brabazon with regard to condition, would be with a bit of TLC. But a very well laid out course with some interesting holes.

The course is definitely an inland links experience and requires links type shots. Plenty of run on the fairways, bunkers positioned perfectly to protect where necessary. The greens were average and obvious signs they have an issue with leather jackets or something. They ran true but after the Brabazon no comparison.

Choose was in good nick considering the rain we had had. Stuck behind a very slow group.. eventually got through on 15th... had finished packed stuff away and on our second beer when they got in!!

I played this course the day after the Brabazon. Unfortunately it does not compare. The condition was a lot worse than the Brabazon and even though I called both The Belfry and your golf travel and was assured no temporary greens or course maintenance the 18th is not in play. The fairways were so waterlogged I lost a few balls that plugged in the middle of the fairway. The course should not have been open for play but i am glad it was. The greens were good and for the most part so were the tee boxes. The fairways had not been cut for some time and so were more like first cut of rough. The fairways are very wide indeed. I played from the back tees and that does make the course a bit of a challenge but for the most part you can swing wildly without too much fear of getting into trouble. It does make the par threes quite long especially into the wind as i was playing it. The course is ruined by a large power line running through it. I imagine in summer the course would be a lot easier than the Brabazon. While I may have been a bit scathing the course is a lovely walk and offers some great holes. I am sure anyone playing it in better conditions will enjoy the round it just is not nearly as good as its more famous brother.

I think this is the hardest course of all the 3 at the belfry. The brabazon is the most eye catching course with it’s water features and bunkers. But the pga is longer and undulated with massive bunkers, and unforgiving greens.

After playing the Brabazon this was definitely a step down. Tee boxes were uneven on some holes and it just felt like it wasn’t as well kept as the Brabazon. The greens however were excellent and very challenging. A tough course, enjoyable to play but not in the same league as the previous day.

A good inland links course but outshone by the Brabazon which we played the day before. Some very tricky holes!

Very disappointed that the handicap system not applying. No one checked or asked for handicap certificates. Paired on Sunday on the PGA course with someone who had only played golf since March. Only joined a club last month and has no and never had a handicap. This surely is not right on courses sat the Belfry .

A great course but probably too difficult for the average (15 handicap golfer) Accuracy was at a premium and the rough was very unforgiving. Some 30 balls lost in my group of 8 players. Not a complaint, but a very difficult and demanding course unless you are very straight.

The Belfry is not for wimps! However you cannot fault the course. It is hard but fair and in great nick. The overall views are something else, but you need something to take your mind off the water hazards!

4 hours 45 to play this round of golf, course ranger was absolutely terrible didn’t even try to move people on! Way to many 2 balls when stats on website when you play this course you play 3 or 4 balls! very slow and long day.

Great course, just a bit oppressive in terms of length. How many 420+ par fours can you take? Gorgeous condition and very challenging.

Really enjoyed the course. Yellow tees were well-worn; obviously taken a hammering from the traffic compared to white n red tees. Quite a quick pace til the last 3 holes where there was a long wait - Two 2 ball groups ahead of us waiting on the 16th tee, but they didn't join up.

For the average elderly Golfer it is more difficult than your usual course but that is the reason why we go. It I shall a fair golf course with a fantastic design.

Similar to our experience on The Brabazon, play is slow, golf etiquette is nonexistent, basic maintenance hasn't been done, the sad part is the course has matured nicely and has a genuine links feel to it

The course was in great condition and we enjoyed it although it was difficult to get used to the brutal long rough. Definitely a course to be played fairway to green with few risks.

Great but busy

A challenging course on which you must stay in play, the whether an inch or a mile in the rough your not coming out! A very good challenge where consistent straight hitting wins.

Looks easy to play, but not so easy to play a good score.

Course was in great condition considering the rain. Consistently great.

I can only describe this as a beast of a course, having not played it before, it played very long in the wet conditions and with the wind and rain it proved to be a real challenge.

Very similar to our experience on the Brabazon. The course was in good condition and very challenging but the equipment we hired let us down again (for the second day running), the sandwich buggy didn't have any stock so whilst the golf was good the support was woeful.

Incredibly hard course, we found. The condition was fantastic and really nice to play. The greens ran true. It is quite hard though.

1st few holes a bit same and last few. 5th-16th are better.

Really good course. Played it on a Monday and felt more relaxed. Was a drink cart on the 3rd but no other tea shack or snack bar spotted.

I enjoy this course more than the the first one we played maybe as it had dried out a bit but it just seemed a lot easier. Some holes were narrow so again you had to think about the shot you did, if it went into the rough you lost it so you had to make sure it was on the fairway but overall throughly enjoyed our two days would recommend playing here.

A disappointing 1st day. They had just holotined the greens which were awful. It was a fairly slow round as the course was very full. That wasn’t what hovered us tho. It was just the greens were terrible. Worse I’ve ever played.

I found my long drives put me at a disadvantage often finding a deep fairway bunker. My fault not the course design. Certainly attack it differently next time.

Good challenging course, but pace of play extremely slow - a lot of very high handicap golfers out on a challenging course. Greens superb but tees not the best (mostly put us off reds) and some “scabby “ areas on the course you wouldn’t expect on fairways particularly. No drinks buggy at all

Not much I can say about this course, best I have played bar none. Very picturesque and also difficult like I said in previous I am not a good golfer (consistent anyway) the first tee is nerve racking with a big crowd wat hing but I nailed it - on the 18th but went on to make par but very enjoyable next stop the Brab 😬 Thanks again to the guys who helped us book it, brilliant as always and the text on the morning of my rounds wishing me a good round was a nice touch 👌🏻

Good experience, lovely course, good bunkers and challenging.

Cold north wind blew this day making the PGA the beast it can be. Punishing rough. Large undulating greens. Forget your handicap and grind out the best score you can. We had a buggy and were glad by the time we finished. A true test of golf

We were sold a start time of 1450 28th September, played 14 on after sunset. Should not be selling at any more than twilight rate as round could not be completed on a busy course. Walked last two holes, horrible start to the weekend.
