Situated less than 20 minutes North of central Marrakech within the Pickalbatros Golf Club is a 27 hole championship golfing destination which was put together by famed designer Robert Trent Jones Sr. As one of the world’s top golf course architects Trent Jones Sr has constructed many masterpieces including Ryder Cup venues Valderrama Golf Club and Hazeltine National Golf Club.

As Marrakech’s 2nd oldest golf course, Pickalbatros Golf Club has welcomed golfers since 1992. The course has become a popular destination as part of a Morocco golf holiday with golfers enjoying the excellent onsite accommodation and the challenge offered by this great resort golf course.

The incredible palm grove that frames the golf course dates back to the 11th century and was created by the soldiers of Almoravid Sultan Youssef ben Tachfine who returned from the Sahara with dates that made a 45-square mile palm grove that we can enjoy today.

Please note that a Golf Buggy or Caddy is compulsory for playing on the course.

Pickalbatros Golf Club

Measuring 6,835 yards against it’s par of 72, Pickalbatros Golf Club is a course that requires guile rather than distance that is the key to playing to your handicap here. It is popular with a range of players with many couples enjoying rounds here courtesy of it’s design.

Those who are playing Golfers can expect all of the hallmarks of Morocco golf course design with lush fairways framed by the Atlas Mountains as well as mature trees that provide a unique golfing experience.

The original 18 holes at Pickalbatros Golf Club were put together by Robert Trent Jones Sr, these nines (holes 1-9 - Jbilettes, 10-18 - Atlas) were added to in 2008 with a further nine holes (19-27 - Tensift) that were designed by Stephane Talbot who also contributed to the layout that is enjoyed just South of Marrakech at PalmGolf Marrakech Ourika. The newer nine are considered to be slightly more forgiving and perfect for anyone seeking a more leisurely golfing experience.
