The Springs Golf Club

The original design of the par 72 golf course was by former Ryder Cup captain Brian Huggett in 1998. Darwin Escapes put significant investment into updating the golf course by hiring leading course architect Tim Lobb to work in consultation with Huggett. The work concentrated on the bunkers and lakes, improving their placement, appearance, and aesthetic appeal.

The course now features well-manicured fairways, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards plus large, undulating greens. It also offers a mix of holes that are both challenging and forgiving, making it enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.

The signature hole is the 8th. A par 3 over water, which often has varying wind conditions to consider. Golfers will require anything from a mid-iron to a wood to reach a green that is not only surrounded by water, but also has bunkers covering any bail out.

the rooms and clubhouse were very nice and in great condition but the staff were unhelpful (especially the man in the office) and quite grumpy. Breakfast was nice and the bar choice was good.

We stayed in one of the cabins. The room per se is ok, but our experience was flawed by a few issues: - there were ants in the room - the cleanness could have been better: a few spider webs here and there, the toilet brush was dirty (and frankly a bit disgusting) - kettle hadn't been clean Also the restaurant, while generally of good quality, wasn't the absolute top: - the breakfast buffet was really minimal, with the bread slices kept all together in their sachet (so if you pick one, you touch another 3...) - no fruits at all - no sweets or pastries for breakfast Also sometimes at dinner some ingredients were missing (no onion rings, no spinach available, even no peas for fish and chips). Service is also generally quite slow (on day 3 we had to wait for 20mins for an Eggs Royale and an Eggs Florentine)

Poor
2.0

We wanted to play from the White tees but we told in a very rude manner (the booking did not state this and we chose the course on these as the yellows were quite short) that they were for members competitions only. Tee boxes were awful in most cases fairways were poor and greens were very bumpy, unkempt and unplayable to a good level in most cases. Driving range was for irons only and chipping areas were as poor as the on course facilities

People were incredibly kind and the course conditions were great. I would've loved a better driving range, or at least a net to warm up with my driver (the driving range is irons only).

Excellent bunkers, lots of sand. Greens rolled slick although had just had maintenance. Lovey lay out, a real fair course with some short par 4s but plenty of tricky par 4s. The only thing I thought is it seemed ‘muddy’ everywhere. Although this didn’t affect us du to it being dry, I got the impression it would be a very muddy course in the wet conditions. Overall, we are very pleased with the course and conditions.

The course was in good shape considering the weather on the lead up to the weekend. However it stayed dry and we had two good rounds just to note they doo alter the course for winter and take a couple of holes out of play and make 2 long holes into 4.There is quite a bit of water to negotiate and trees to make an interesting round of golf.

Quite a pretty course and greens were very good. All bunkers had consistent sand and all the holes were challenging and different.

The Tees are in good condition. Make sure you select the right course on your navigation systems (winter and summer courses). The fairways are okay, with plenty of bunkers to catch you out. The greens are in excellent condition with some very tricky placements on uneven greens. The pace of play was excellent and about on time. Good facilities for practising, such as putting, chipping and a range. The whole resort is laid out very well. Good pro-shop with helpful staff. We have an excellent Sunday & Monday.

Decent course, with some nice features and challenges. Greens were excellent, however the fairways were in poor condition, mainly due to the recent hot weather and lack of rain.
