Tynemouth Golf Club 4

The original golf course was only 15 holes and was designed by Wille Park Jr in 1914. The remaining 3 holes were not actually introduced to the golf course until 1952 and it wasn’t until that point it was a full 18 hole golf course.

Though Tynemouth Golf Club is located near the coast, and as its name suggests, near the mouth of the Tyne, it is a classical parkland layout. The course spans the gentle undulations of the delightful estate and is a pleasurable and relaxing part of a golf tour around Newcastle. This should be one that is on your list of golf courses to play in the Newcastle area and one that others something a little different from the rest.

Tynemouth Golf Club

The course itself is situated 8 miles from Newcastle-upon-tyne and is on the end of the historic conservation village of Tynemouth

From the championship markers, Tynemouth measures 6,343 yards, which makes it a manageable test for golfers of all abilities. The charming scenery is matched by the quality of the layout, which combine to form a delightful Newcastle golf tour venue.

This golf course is a great course for all abilities and has something different on most holes. James Braid had a hand in the design of this original course and the redesign so you will get the understanding that this course has been thought about and designed with the golfer in mind making it one that should really be played and enjoyed.
