Langland Bay is one of the Gower Peninsula's real treats, a clifftop course set on the narrow strip of land between Langland and Caswell bays. You'll get sea views from the opening stretch and when the wind gets up, it quickly becomes a thinking golfer's round.
Expect firm turf in summer, plenty of natural elevation change and a routing that mixes exposed coastal holes with more sheltered stretches inland. The prevailing south-westerly can be the deciding factor, so bring your flighted shots and be ready to take an extra club when you're playing into it. Greens tend to be on the smaller side with subtle movement, and you'll often find the slopes towards the sea can influence the read more than you expect.
This is not a course that rewards swinging out of your boots. Play to your angles, keep it in position and you'll give yourself chances. Take on the brave line too often and the gorse and coastal terrain are ready to punish anything loose.
Off the course, the clubhouse is friendly and straightforward, ideal for a relaxed post-round bite and a pint. It also fits nicely into a wider Gower itinerary, with Pennard, Ashburnham and Clyne all within easy reach, and beaches and coastal walks on your doorstep for anyone in the group who wants more than just 18 holes.
Who is this for?
Golfers looking for an authentic, scenic coastal experience on the Gower Peninsula, with a course that plays firm and fast, rewards strategy over power and offers genuine character without the formality or price tag of championship venues.
Who is it best for?
Mid-to-low handicappers who enjoy wind-affected, strategic golf and appreciate natural clifftop settings, plus anyone building a Gower golf tour who wants variety, value and a real test of links-style skills in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Though not long, Langland Bay can be very challenging, particularly when the prevailing wind picks up. With a standard scratch of 69, the course is tricky, but the excellent views are enough to redeem any ugly scorecards.
The signature hole is the long par-4 sixth, which was designed by the legendary James Braid - a certain highlight of any golf tour around the Mumbles Mile and Swansea.

They advertise it as the pebble beach of Wales and the vistas merit the comparison. I could see there would be a lot of walking up and down steep hills, so I called them the day before to book a buggy. Sadly all had been booked. It is a challenging walk but a lovely course. Definitely a lot shorter than the other 2 but we were made very welcome. Driving in and out of the club is a bit of a white knuckle ride. I would have preferred to play this on our 2nd day, as this was 25 minutes west of Swansea. P&K 25 minutes east of Swansea would have saved us nearly an hour when returning home
