Parador de Málaga Golf dates back to the early 1920s and its story is closely tied to the royal visitors who helped put Málaga on the map as a winter escape. Queen Victoria Eugenia spent time in the region and the club's origins are often linked to Princess Beatriz de Battenberg, giving the venue a heritage feel you don't always get on the Costa del Sol.

What really makes it work for a golf break is the location. You're on the edge of Málaga with the coast close by, so you can pair a round with the city's beaches, food spots and culture without committing to long resort transfers. It's also a handy option for short trips, especially if you're trying to make the most of arrival and departure days. Being so close to Málaga Airport, you can land, check in and get 18 in without losing a day to transfers.

On the course, expect a fair test that rewards sensible strategy. Keep it in play off the tee, respect the bunkering and you'll give yourself plenty of chances. If the breeze gets up, it becomes even more about controlling flight and choosing the right targets. The layout is largely flat and straightforward to walk, which makes it accessible for a range of abilities and keeps the pace moving.

Stay on site at the Parador and you've got a comfortable base for golf and exploring, with everything close enough that the trip feels easy from the first tee to the last putt.

Who is this for?
Golfers seeking a historic, accessible course on the Costa del Sol with strong year-round weather, easy airport access and the option to combine golf with city culture and coastal relaxation.

Who is it best for?
Mid-handicappers and groups who value a playable, strategic layout with royal heritage, plus couples or societies looking for a convenient, well-rounded Spanish golf break that balances quality golf with off-course appeal. It's also ideal as an arrival-day round for anyone flying into Málaga.

Parador de Malaga Golf

In 1925 and under the technical direction of Harry Colt (who also designed and built the Wentworth course) construction began on the primitive, 9-hole course. Later, and under the direction and design of renowned British architect Tom Simpson (whose hands have delivered such important and famous courses as Turnberry, Muirfield and Ballybunion) , it was expanded to 18 holes.
