Royal Norwich Golf Club was founded in 1893 and granted Royal patronage by Queen Victoria. The club has since moved to a new Ross McMurray-designed course, a milestone celebrated with a visit from Ian Poulter.
McMurray and PGA professional Peter Todd have created a modern parkland layout with a premium feel underfoot. Expect sharp green complexes, contemporary irrigation and bunkering that asks you to think from the tee. With five sets of tees, you can dial the challenge up or down depending on who's in your group, ideal if you've got a mix of handicaps on tour. Five tee options also makes it a smart shout for societies, you can set the day up so everyone has a good test without anyone feeling out of their depth.
The course sits within the 400-year-old parkland of the Weston Estate, so you get that classic English setting of mature trees, gentle movement in the land and plenty of space between holes. Off the course, the Stables complex acts as the clubhouse hub, pairing characterful architecture with the facilities you want for a relaxed pre-round coffee or a well-earned post-round drink.

The superb new layout measures a formidable 7,200 yards from the back tees but they have a large variety of tees to allow all golfers to enjoy this new and amazing layout.
It is a brand new course and has been 10 years in the making. It is now the place to go and one for the bucket list, a must play if you are in the Norwich area.
The club also boasts a 6 hole academy course for those wanting a warm up before the main event or it is great to help you learn this great game. As well as featuring state of the art practice facilities including short game area, practice bunkers, extensive practice putting green and range facilities.

Poor condition. Greens were very slow; having played 2 excellent courses the days before this was a come down! Fairways were scruffy with obvious weeds in most. A course that has potential and the feel of a lovely golf course but the reality did not live up to this. Very disappointing.

A great end to our trip. Compared to the links course much flatter but still a good challenge. Varied holes making for an interesting round. Perhaps unfair rating condition at 3 but still some bare patches & thin grass on fairways probably due to the harsh summer.

A fabulous golf course with a great variety of holes. Very playable whilst still being a good challenge given the sloppy greens and loads of bunkers. Huge modern clubhouse and great practise facilities. We had a slight worry when we arrived as the pro shop did not have our YGT booking in their system! But the guy sorted us out when I showed him our booking confirmation and mentioned Martin Leather who he said he knew well. He got us out only half an hour later than we were expecting to play. A good result given it was a busy Saturday. Really had a great time at Royal Norwich, a fabulous course to end our trip.
