Sligo Park Hotel

9.6
Excellent See all 5 reviews

The Sligo Park Hotel is a smart, modern base right in Sligo town, handy for pubs, restaurants and live music if your group likes a lively evening after the golf. For a north-west tour it's a practical choice because you can get out to some of the best links in the region without constantly changing hotels.

You're well placed for County Sligo (Rosses Point), plus easy runs down to Enniscrone and over to Strandhill when you want something different. It also works nicely for a few scenic miles along the Wild Atlantic Way, whether you're pushing north into Donegal or heading south into Mayo between rounds.

Back at the hotel you've got the comfort levels you want after a day in the wind, with good food options on site and a proper leisure club for a swim or a loosen-up before tomorrow's tee time. If you're the type who likes to get the next day's plan sorted over a pint, being in town is a real bonus. In short, it's a central Sligo base that suits golfers who want strong links golf nearby without giving up the town atmosphere.

Who is this for?
Golfers planning a tour of the north-west who want a central, comfortable base with easy access to Sligo's nightlife, dining and a strong range of nearby championship links courses.

Who is it best for?
Groups and societies looking to combine serious golf with lively evenings in town, plus couples or small groups who value a well-equipped hotel with leisure facilities to complement their golf itinerary.

Accommodation at Sligo Park Hotel

Inside the Sligo Park Hotel there are 136 bedrooms, finished in a modern style with soft lighting and comfortable furnishings. Rooms include a complimentary refreshment tray, hair dryer, direct dial telephone and wireless internet access, which is all you really need for checking tee times, weather and travel plans. The layout and finish make each room feel like somewhere you'll actually want to spend time rather than just a place to drop your clubs and crash.

For food, the Hazelwood Restaurant is the main option if you fancy a proper sit-down meal at the end of the day. If you're after something more relaxed, the Rathanna Bar and Garden Terrace is the better choice for a drink and something lighter. It's a good set-up for golf groups, especially if you want to keep the evening easy and stay on site rather than heading back into town every night.

A real plus here is the health and leisure club, which comes into its own on a multi-day trip. There's an indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room, plus a gym and fitness suite if you like a stretch-out session after 18 holes. There are also outdoor tennis courts for anyone who wants a change from golf. If you're planning to play several rounds in quick succession, those facilities make the hotel feel more like a base camp than just a bed for the night. You'll notice the difference when you're heading out fresh for round three or four rather than stiff and sore.

The combination of town-centre location, proper recovery facilities and straightforward access to the best courses in County Sligo makes this hotel a sensible anchor for any north-west itinerary. Include Sligo Park Hotel on your next Sligo golf break and we'll help you build a north-west itinerary around Rosses Point and Enniscrone.
