The resort has 491 rooms and suites set across landscaped gardens, so it feels calmer than you'd expect from a property of this size. You've got a clear spread of categories: Superior, Deluxe, Family, Family Deluxe and Premium Family, with warm wood and stone finishes and the modern comforts you'd want after 18 holes.
Because the rooms are dotted around the grounds rather than packed into one main block, you'll typically look out over greenery, pools and pathways. It also helps keep things quieter, which is welcome if you're back from golf and looking for an early night before another tee time. Families and mixed groups are well catered for thanks to the larger room options and flexible layouts.
On-site facilities are a big plus for golf trips where not everyone is playing every day. There are six swimming pools, plus four restaurants and two bars spread across the resort, handy for a post-round drink without trekking back to one central spot. The all-inclusive setup keeps the admin simple for organisers, with meals and drinks taken care of and a good spread of options across the week.
Dining covers different styles, from international buffet spreads to more focused à la carte menus, so groups can mix up their evenings without leaving the property. Hotel was superb. The welcome, the staff, the rooms, the food & the drink were excellent. The hotel, rooms & surroundings were clean & overall pretty quiet considering there were a few young children around. A lovely 10 min walk to the beach via a bridge. But it was up & down. Taxi needed to venture out. Perfect location for a base when playing golf.

Lovely hotel although probably would have preferred accommodation all together rather than bring in separate pods/buildings around the resort. We were quite a distance from reception. A comfortable lounge/bar area to relax in after dinner would also have been preferred. A real plus to get our AI bands on arrival at midday and not at the 3pm check in. Food was excellent. I do agree with other reviewers that the food wasn’t always that hot. The Wellness centre was great and did appreciate that it was open to all guests on AI and only spa treatments were an extra cost.

This resort is ok if you have kids under 12 yrs old because they stay for free. This is definitely not a hotel for adults without children. I wish I would’ve been told this before I booked the trip. It was not I pleasant. The food was not good. The drinks were marginal. Screaming kids everywhere. I would definitely not stay here again. I left and stayed at the epic sana resort which was fantastic. It was not all inclusive, but I would stay there again. One suggestion. When I book a trip with YGT, I would like to have concierge service with one dedicated person to get their opinion and thoughts. In this case I would have never booked a trip at the Tivoli Alvor hotel. It makes a difference.

The rooms were good … ours was a good location and bed very comfy… The hotel is definitely a summer outdoor living hotel and is perfect for families.. I would not recommend this hotel for any parties of golfers whatsoever… we will not go again
