Vilamoura Garden Hotel is a smart 4-star base in the Algarve for golfers who want quick access to the region's best courses, plus an easy route to the marina for a post-round drink. You're around 10 minutes from Vilamoura Marina and the beach, so you can keep the days simple: golf in the morning, a late lunch by the water, then head out again once the sun drops.
Vilamoura is one of Portugal's strongest golf hubs, with a proper spread of layouts close by, from pine-lined parkland tests to more open, wind-exposed tracks. With around 300 sunny days a year in the Algarve, it's a reliable pick for a warm-weather golf break, especially if you're looking to escape winter layers and play on proper greens when courses back home are waterlogged.
The hotel itself is geared towards comfort and convenience rather than over-the-top luxury. Rooms are modern, the atmosphere is relaxed and everything is set up for easy group travel, whether you're coming as a couple, a society or a mixed-ability fourball. If your priority is maximising golf while keeping travel time low, this is the sort of place that makes the whole trip run smoothly. Stay here and you can stack early tee times without worrying about long transfers, then still make the marina for sunset drinks.
Who is this for?
Golfers and groups who want a well-located, good-value base in Vilamoura with easy access to multiple championship courses, the marina and the beach.
Who is it best for?
Societies, friends' trips and couples planning a different course each day, with lively après-golf close by and minimal fuss on logistics.

Vilamoura Garden Hotel offers five room categories, ranging from 28 square metres up to 55 square metres, which works well for everything from couples' breaks to larger group trips. Standard rooms are available with garden or pool views and come with the essentials you want after 18 holes: air conditioning, a large TV and a private terrace for a cold drink while you recap the round. The terrace is a proper bonus if you're the type who likes to sit outside with a beer and go through the card before heading out for dinner.
For groups, the Family Room is the practical standout. With two separate sleeping areas in one larger space, it gives you the benefits of sharing without feeling on top of each other, ideal if you're travelling as a fourball and want to keep rooming simple. Importantly, the same modern finish and core amenities carry across the room types, so you're not trading comfort for space. All rooms are cleaned daily, and the hotel provides the usual in-room extras like tea and coffee facilities, a safe and a hairdryer.
On-site, the Tapas Lounge Bar is a handy option when you fancy a quieter evening. Expect Algarve-inspired small plates and a solid drinks list, which is perfect for an easy first night or a low-key reset between big golf days. The menu leans into local flavours, grilled seafood, cured meats, olives and regional cheeses, paired with Portuguese wines and cold beers. It's the sort of spot where you can grab a table, order a few plates to share and not feel like you need to get dressed up or commit to a three-course sit-down meal.
There's also a pool area and terrace, so if you've got a late tee time or you're travelling with non-golfers, there's somewhere to relax without needing to head into town. The pool is a decent size, surrounded by loungers and shaded spots, and it's quiet enough during the day that you can actually unwind rather than fight for space. The hotel also has a small fitness area if you want to stretch out tight backs and shoulders after a few rounds.
If you're organising a group, this hotel suits a straightforward routine: breakfast, golf, a dip in the pool, then either tapas on-site or a quick taxi to the marina. Breakfast is buffet-style with hot and cold options, including eggs, pastries, fruit, cereals and fresh coffee, giving you enough fuel to get through 18 holes without needing to stop at the turn. The hotel can also arrange packed lunches if you're heading out early or playing a course that's a bit further afield. Reception staff are used to dealing with golf groups, so they can help with tee-time confirmations, taxi bookings and any last-minute course changes. It's a clean, comfortable base that lets you spend your time where it matters: on the courses and out enjoying Vilamoura.

Great little hotel. Friendly staff, lovely pool area and a great breakfast. Its only a 2 minute walk to pinhal golf course and a 10 min shuttle to millennium. We took a 5 minute uber to the marina for drinks and food.

Enjoyed the hotel, transfers however aren't from here, they are from about 300yards up the road at the Hilton. Not too much of a stretch, but only on a two hourly bus run basis.
