Alamos Golf Course is one of the newer names in the Algarve and it's a cracking option if you enjoy a proper test that's shaped by the land, not just length off the tee. The course is beautifully woven into the rolling hills of the region, creating a flowing layout where accuracy matters far more than raw distance. The fairways don't sit still for long and the greens have plenty of movement, so you'll want to be dialled in with your yardages. It's the sort of course that keeps you engaged from the first tee because every hole asks a slightly different question.
What sets Alamos apart from many Algarve courses is the backdrop. Instead of coastal views, you're treated to striking panoramas of the Monchique Mountains, giving the round a distinctly inland feel with big skies, mountain views and rolling ground underfoot. The design requires precision off the tee and smart course management around the greens. Keep it in play and you'll score.
Alamos forms part of an excellent three-course rotation alongside Morgado and Salgados. Base yourself in Portimão and you can line up Alamos with Morgado and Salgados without burning time in the minibus, perfect for groups who'd rather be on the tee than on the motorway. Morgado Golf & Country Club is the standout base for this area, offering comfortable accommodation and easy access to all three courses.

The 6,600 yard layout was formulated by the highly regarded European Golf Design association, and while the course is relatively open from the tee, its large greens are extremely tricky. The enormous putting surfaces are noted for their severe slopes, and are guarded by treacherous bunkers.
The raised greens play havoc with club selection, while Alamos is also punctuated with a number of hazardous water features; in fact, the course is formulated around three large lakes, which provide both excitement and aesthetic beauty. Alamos has received much praise in its short time on the Algarve, and is a real pleasure to enjoy during a holiday in this golfing paradise.
Signature Hole: Hole 9, Par 3, 190 yards, SI 11
The par 3 9th hole is indicative of the test it presents, with a small but undulating green surrounded by tricky mounding and hazards.

Best of the two courses in the property. A mini adventure through the hillside and into some open countryside with exceptional views and some challenging holes. A must play if you are here and play twice if you can.

Amazing trip organised by Bradley, we wanted the trip to be organised as we had a group of 6 golfers some playing 3 rounds some playing 2 and a player playing the one round, Bradley organised this booking to allow that and everything ran smoothly choosing great courses for us and an overall great experience.

Different test to Morgato. A bit shorted but very well placed bunkers and other hazards. Narrower so needed more course management. Greens were more undulating with subtle breaks.

Not having buggies was a killer. Push trolleys only. Loads of hills from green to next tee. Made the experience a little disappointing. Course was good - tees we're a bit rough but greens were decent

The golf course itself is easy on the eye with several memorable holes, each different, yet in keeping with each other. Thankfully the greens were not that quick, as there was not a flat spot on any of them! Greenkeeper must have been in a bad mood when placing the pins, some were in ridiculously tough spots. We walked both rounds, couple of hills but not too bad.
