The Chancery Hotel is a smart boutique base in central Dublin, just a short stroll from the Chester Beatty Library and the buzz of Temple Bar and St Stephen's Green. It's a great shout if your trip is built around golf but you still want city atmosphere once the clubs are back in the boot.
Inside, it's calm and contemporary, with natural materials and a clean, minimalist look that feels more quiet luxury than flashy. You've got the practical bits covered too, including concierge service, allergy-free rooms, complimentary WiFi throughout, an on-site restaurant and a slick bar for the first post-round drink.
From a golfer's point of view, the location works well for Dublin-based breaks where you're mixing standout golf with nights out, good food and a bit of sightseeing. You're well placed for headline days at The K Club, Portmarnock and Druids Glen, and you can keep evenings simple with dinner and cocktails back at the hotel if you don't fancy heading out. The airport and major transport links are close enough to make early starts and late returns manageable, which matters when you're squeezing in multiple rounds across a long weekend.
If you're organising a couple's trip, a small group or a society weekend, The Chancery gives you that city-centre convenience without the busy, impersonal feel you sometimes get with larger chain hotels. The communal spaces are inviting and thoughtfully appointed, creating a sense of ease from the moment you arrive.

The Chancery's approach to bedrooms is spot on for a golf break, quiet, uncluttered and genuinely restful after a long day out on the course. Rooms are designed as a retreat from the city, with a calm palette, minimalist styling and a real focus on comfort rather than gimmicks.
You'll see natural and sustainable materials throughout, from the bed linen to the herringbone hardwood flooring, which gives the rooms a warm, premium feel. Practical touches are well covered too, including bedside USB ports and VDA-controlled blinds, ideal when you're running on early tee time schedules and want to black out the room for a lie-in after a late one in Temple Bar.
Sleep quality is a big win here. The Irish-made King Koil mattresses are a serious upgrade if you've walked 18, or 36, and need to wake up fresh for another round. Bathrooms and storage feel sensibly laid out, so it works just as well for a couple on a long weekend as it does for a small group travelling with golf gear and a few outfits for evenings in town.
If you're the organiser, it's an easy hotel to keep everyone happy. You can lean on the concierge for local recommendations, and the overall feel is calm and grown-up, so it's a good match for groups that want a quality base rather than a party hotel. The location means you're never far from the action if you do want to head out, with plenty of pubs, restaurants and live music within walking distance, but you've also got the option to wind down quietly at the hotel bar after a big day.
Dining at The Chancery centres on Fawn, a bright, fresh bistro serving seasonal dishes built around top Irish produce with occasional Italian influences. The focus is on ingredient-led cooking that showcases the best of local suppliers, making it a strong option for post-round meals without needing to leave the hotel. The menu shifts with the seasons, so you're getting what's good right now rather than a static offering, and the quality is consistent enough that you won't feel short-changed if you eat there more than once during your stay.
The Chancery Bar offers a carefully curated cocktail menu, with all syrups made in-house and a selection that balances custom creations with expertly crafted classics. The setting is chic and contemporary, and the mixologists know their craft, making it an ideal spot to unwind with a drink after a round at Portmarnock or The K Club. It's the kind of bar where you can settle in for a couple of rounds without feeling rushed, and the quality of the drinks matches the rest of the hotel's attention to detail.
For early starts or quick refuelling, the Caffé delivers quality coffee from skilled baristas who can prepare anything from espresso to latte or cappuccino. Homemade sweet treats and pastries from Bretzel Bakery are available, alongside freshly pressed paninis, perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast or lunch before heading out to the course. The coffee scene in Dublin has evolved, and The Chancery's Caffé reflects that shift, offering a level of quality and attention to detail that matches the rest of the hotel. If you're the type who needs a decent flat white before you can function, you're sorted here.

Other than having a smaller bed than we are used to and no air conditioning in the uncommonly warm Irish days there, it was the bomb. Great live music too!
