West Course at La Manga Club

Amazing experience, course was beyond us tbh but absolutely fantastic experience. Course was quiet so we able to take our time and fully immerse ourselves, glad we took the buggy!!

No staff when we arrived nowhere to get a drink when staff arrived he apologised and gave us bottles of water transport from the hotel didn’t turn up made us late for tee off guy from the shop had to take us in his car not his fault down to the hotel we sat in very small car with clubs across our knees

Same as before condition of bunkers was poor but they had had heavy rain 4 days before we played it.

Short shuttle bus to/from the hotel to play this course. Few difficulties in working out where to get the transport but mainly due to language barrier and business of pro shop. On arrival at West course, one person is there to provide buggies and was absent for a short time leading to confusion but eventually sorted. Course is tight and tricky compared to the North and South but provides a great challenge. Not quite in as good condition as the other course due to closing during Covid but still decent. View from the elevated 18th tee is the highlight of the round.

West Course was unfortunately storm damaged from night before.Alot of debris on the fairways apart from that it had some lovely holes.There are no facilities after the golf,you have to get a taxi back to the North and South clubhouse.

This course is hard if you had not planned it before. It was tight and short meaning having hit a good drive down the middle to fine it in water was disappointing. Its a one of those courses where course management is the most important! But we enjoyed the course!

This course is the most difficult of the three courses and makes you think your way around which I enjoyed. The West course is a short drive from the other courses and nothing was open there. Again, course wasn’t in great condition for the price of green fees but good fun!

Absolutely loved the West course very tricky, narrow fairways much more interesting holes- views were amazing. You definitely had to think about this course.!!! Would play this course again and again.

What a course by the way. Favourite course iron play course only apart from the 18 (unreal view off the T) Tight tricky and not for giving. Make sure you know your yardage’s

A lovely course. I had an off day so struggled. This is extremely tight and you have to be good off the tee with your irons, true target golf. The facilities at the course were extremely limited.

Tough course, would play again, greens were tough.

best of the 3 and great views, very difficult with blind shots but again fairways/greens need improving for the standard they set, very slow all 18 holes with no marshall to speed things up, disappointing overall.

The West course at La Manga is quite tricky requiring careful club selection off the tee with lots of hazards and interesting features to avoid. Beautiful location and well kept.

Fabulous course weaving through the undulating woods. Very different from the other 2 courses. Very tight, only used driver once, you had to be in the right spot or you struggled to score. Lots of lost balls! Only issue is lack of facilities, you can’t pay for buggies or trollies at the course, you have to pay at the main North/South reception so had to get the transfer bus to take us back there to pay. No bar for post round drinks other than a vending machine although it did sell beer.

Really tough course, tight with no room off the fairway but very enjoyable, just challenging. No facilities though, no clubhouse or anywhere to get food or drink except vending machine. Go prepared.

Too many blind holes and hidden hazards for a first time player.

The most technical of all the courses at La Manga so be sure to take plenty of balls with you. Facilities very limited but as long as you have transfers very easy to be back to the club

Short trip via hotel shuttle. The least played of the courses but arguably the best - not as long but very hilly (slope about 140) so buggy useful. Again, lots of trouble - ravines, etc - and some big downhill doglegs, some very tight driving spaces between trees, and a couple of very challenging uphill par 3s (against the wind one was driver distance). No course map seemed to be available. Final hole spectacular from very elevated tee. A unique course, not to be missed.

This course is still undergoing building work, which interfered with all using the course. when it's finished it should meet the standard of the other ciurses.

There is still work being carried out on the West course but it isn’t up to the standards of the other two courses. It is a tougher course for the average golfer but is a little rough around the edges. Disappointed that you couldn’t get a coffee before or after playing and the vending machines weren’t all working. The coffee machine required coins which no one had and the soft drink and snack machines worked intermittently.

This course was so different to the other two and not in such good condition. Lots of blind shots, so tricky if you don’t know what’s ahead, very tight fairways and fairly steep slopes. The advice from the golf centre was to leave the driver in the bag - definitely a course for precision and accuracy!

The course has been significantly damaged by wild boars... particularly around the greens. Many signs on each hole to alert you to this fact but no advance warning before booking. With greens that are far from the standard of the North or South course, it is perverse that they are charging the same green fee rates as the N & S courses.

Not in very good condition

No facilities other than a machine. I think this is poor considering the cost and it’s attempt at being regarded as a high quality resort.

Very hard

Very tough but a great experience and fun course. Very quiet, we got on early and saw no one for the full round. No clubhouse or eating facilities which was disappointing given its in the middle of nowhere. A bit under invested compared to the North and South

a beautiful but tough course! One that you really have to plot your way around, which is not easy when you haven't played it before. Tight fairways, narrow approaches and a lot of penalty areas make for a stunning but hard course. Good greens, again with some areas of disease, but that took away none of the enjoyment.

Shorter course , but very challenging and very tight on most of the holes! Would Definitely recommend a course guide as there are a lot of dog legs where a driver is to much club! A great challenge and suitable for all golfers

We always return to The West Course hoping that time and money has been spent on it. Sadly for the last few years (possibly since Covid but maybe before) this course has felt unloved. From tee to green, there never seems to be any routine maintenance going on and this year, the automatic sprinklers made certain areas really boggy. The greens are awful given the reputation and price. It’s such a shame as it has so much potential, if looked after. This course is definitely needing some serious investment and for the time being, it has run out of chances for us.

The course is in terribly condition. Would not play again.

Hardest course I have every played. Slope 139 Lots of sand, very narrow. All the staff were apologising about the condition and bits of it were not good. Very sun damaged on some greens but obviously was a very nice course lovely views. Buggies 53Euro but a great round of golf and very quiet presumably because of the condition. Worth playing all the same.

A very tight course which required a lot of course management and accuracy. The course could do with a lot of work as a lot of the greens were diseased and paths around the course were in bad repair.

had to get a taxi from the hotel to the West course and back. I would have expected transport to have been laid on. problems on the course with wild pigs meant that some of the areas had been dug up, although the greenstaff were working hard to repair the damage. Tight course for the higher handicappers with some tee to fairways being a big hit and some narrow angles from the tees. Worth playing the course for the view from the 18th tee alone. The bar facilities were not open as we finished playing at 1500hrs and then having to wait again for a taxi to take us back to the hotel. Disappointing given the resort reputation

Difficult course with lots of woodland. Course needs some attention on the greens and around the bunkers but aside from that is fantastic to play! Very quiet when we went so didn’t feel rushed, and the scenery of the course is beautiful.

Enjoyed the course but some greens were not in the best condition and the bunkers were basically unplayable due to lack of sand & poor condition.

Memorable, possibly for the wrong reasons. Course is nicknamed the ‘Wild West’ for good reason. You need to hire a taxi to take you there and back. Difficult layout to understand, that said, the views from the 18th tee are spectacular.

Course was clearly neglected, paths etc requires some serious attention - we hired a buggy which wasn’t easy to drive on the pot holed paths. Bar, etc was closed and we had to pay for a taxi to & from the course which we’ve never had to do before.

Very challenging golf course when playing it for the first time given the number of dog legs which required the ball to be put in the right place off the tee.

Paths very uneven and in poor condition. Lovely setting but no facilities apart from a drinks/snack machine and changing rooms. Bar not open. More signage needed from green to next tee!

Overall a good golf course, par 3’s and 4’s very good…. however the par 5’s ruin it slightly (as a better golfer granted)… having to hit 7 irons and 5 irons off the tee on a par 5 because you have no more room to play with is a bit of a strange experience.

Quick as it was cold and raining! (Did have buggies) Rougher, rustic course ! Very challenging indeed. Needed talc especially path ways. We had to give up due to weather conditions! Long walk so would recommend buggies. Bottled water provided on buggy each day along with scorecard & pencil. All very efficient.

Muddy in places (but is was January). No facilities available after the round (understandable). Great course and so quiet we had it to ourselves - millionaire’s golf.

Shocking course. Should never have been open . The greens not ready, the approaches in need of attention.grass growing from the bunkers, no sand in the bunkers. Very disappointed, will not go back to the resort ever again.

Absolutely disgusting condition which we were not informed about until literally the last second after spending £25 each on buggies (20ppl) i then complained after the round to which I was told our booking agent (YGT) had been informed and green fees were free again as a group we saw nothing l!! Overall a shocking experience. Also upon arrival we were told that we couldn’t even buy a bottle of water

Not one of our favourites. Condition of course suffered from recent storm. Very difficult course with a lot of blind holes and long carries over bunkers. Definitely one to miss.

A fantastic course. Very hard and very tight. Leave your driver in the bag. Great views all around the course but the view from the 18th tee is stunning.

Lost a few balls this time, couldn't play to my handycap. Maybe will try again but not sure.

Buggies are needed but price on all courses is 48 euros which is very high . The price seems to increase every year .Course is very difficult and therefore a lot of lost balls slowing play .The condition of the course has improved over the last few years .It is a course that is a very good test .

This is definitely not a course for the beginner or the faint hearted - often with ravines alongside the fairways as well as to be carried and with very significant elevation changes on the back 9 holes. Greens were in much better condition than either North or South courses - which could be because either those who play it are serious golfers who understand etiquette - or because few golfers wish to play it twice so volume of play is much less!

Completely different experience to the other 2 courses. The layout is through trees with lots of blind shots and positional play a must Tee boxes were poorly maintained

Some obvious damage from the storm three weeks ago but the course held up well.

The most difficult of all the La Manga courses. Our round here took 6 hours to complete. The course was extremely busy so a lot of standing around waiting to get on with the game.

Considering the storm conditions of the previous days, we were lucky to play at all. Staff are well informed and very helpful. Everything needs some TLC but we enjoyed the course. It's a tight course when accuracy is more important than distance. Some great views.

Greens still showing signs of previous maintenance work. But great work by the staff to get the course back in shape after the recent storms. Staff are great at the caddie shack.

Hardcore never had so much fun losing (8balls in my live) each hole is a great challenge. Everyone came of this course not quiet believing what they had just experienced slow due looking for yours and every ones balls brilliant must play again with a cart of balls. One tip leave the driver at home

Quite a technical course if you love your driver you may be disappointed this is a course management course for sure , challenging fir higher handicaps

Very unusual course with waterways at very close intervals to each other making club choice difficult for the average golfer. Nice views around the hills and countryside.

buggy tracks need lot of repairs tees are very sandy slippy and greens cored which we tried to avoid by checking the maintenance schedule which had changed

The course wasn’t in the best of condition but this was the last day before it was closed for a week for course maintenance so I can understand why it wasn’t at its best, but still enjoyed playing it

This was defo the hardest course of the 3 but also the nicest looking. Expect lower scores tho and put your driver away

Precision target golf which should suit the better player, quite hilly and smaller greens than the other two courses, good course management needed to score well here!

The west course is not as manicured as the other two courses but it more than makes up when you consider the character. It is a course that you will love to go back to play again and again. It's not for the faint hearted !!!

This was by far the hardest course I've ever played.so challenging yet so beautiful.would only play this course again.

A stunning course but very tricky. Definitely no need for a driver here. Plot. Your way round and you'll enjoy it. Go to far offline and it's a lost ball. But still a great challenge. And the 18!!! Wow. What a hole.

Played West course twice as well Most definitely the hardest of the 3 courses but a must play if you go here Starts off easy but gets progressively harder as you get into the round Leave driver in your room when you play here as you need to be in fairway it’s not overly long but it’s tight with plenty of hazards to trip you up Par 3s are truly memorable and if you do make your par you will have deserved it Always aim for middle of the greens as going long ends in tears All in all it’s difficult but enjoyable at the same time Everything was booked through your golf travel and was spot on yet again looking forward to next trip with you Cheers Andy

The course plays quite short and only requires a driver on 3-4 holes. A lot of short dog-leg holes. Interesting variation on the holes. very enjoyable

As a three ball we got matched up with a fourth even after making a specific request to play as a three ball

My favourite course. Tough! Not too many unrepaired pitchmarks on greens. Organisation not great though as my fourball was sent out in the middle of a VERY slow competition and the Marshall was unhelpful as he did not recommend us to be let through. Disappointing round of 6 hours as a result!

Superb course in excellent condition.

Over 5.5 hours to go round. Incredibly slow at the start with no evidence of active marshals. This course should only be played by those who have a handicap certificate which is less than 20 for men and 28 for ladies.Poor meal afterwards.

This course is BRUTALLY hard in the conditions we played. Heavy showers and 60kph winds made this the hardest round of golf i have ever played. The course is super tight, tree lined, OB and hazrds everywhere. Throw in the winds and rain and you have a recipe for the highest score of the season, which i truly delivered. Not much in the way of practice facilities by this course which is away from the other 2, so if you have time hit the range in the main village before taking a shuttle or car the 5 mins to the West. We have some unfinished business here, will be back one day!! 1 small thing to note, our booking through Yourgolftravel had us down to play this course at 9.57am. When we arrived, we were told our tee time was 8.10 and that we had missed it. They did accommodate us and get us in around the time we booked, but there was some miscommunication somewhere.

More difficult terrain but still very enjoyable. Followed 3 ladies who I believe found the course very difficult, we were held on 12 tee's and not ever called through, needed a course marshal. Why are the buggy rental costs so expensive. Hope the greens get a rest, they need to recover from heavy use. It is evident that players spend a relatively long time on the greens.

A very tight test of your accuracy and course management - very enjoyable. Tee box on 18th was a crowd pleaser. Limited club house and facilities but fresh meat on a BBQ was a nice touch

The most difficult course of the three with very challenging left and right doglegs. Fairways needed to be landed on otherwise the result was usually a lost ball in the surrounding countryside. Enjoyed this course the most and if I get the opportunity to return I would play it twice. Some of the 'next tee' sign positions need improving for golfers on their first visit.

This course was hard particularly playing it for the first time and not knowing the many peculiarities that make it special. This is certainly not for the faint hearted,the view from the 18th tee is spectacular and goes some way to ease the challenging drive ahead of you.

Very tight narrow fairways, keep the driver in the bag except on the signature 18th. Slowest round I’ve ever played 5hrs 30 mins. 10-15 minutes wait on the tee on most holes. Greens not great because selfish ignorant golfers not repairing pitch marks. I maybe being a little critical as it was my worst round of the 3 ! On the upside really friendly typical pergola style Spanish bar at the club house

This course has improved in its condition over the last few years .Fairways the best I have ever seen them , greens also excellent .The course is very tough with a lot of holes which you have plan you way around . First three holes very tough and back nine has some excellent holes .This is a course you will never forget .

This course felt a little cheaper than The North & The South course with not much of a practice facility but hey we can’t have everything. The course is a real thinking course so the big furniture is rarely needed so tests you irons to the max. I liked it.

One of our party described it as 18 tees and 18 greens and messy in between!

4 of our group decided to play the west course the only slot they could get was 8am so off they went and when they arrived found that the buggy shack was the only thing open. no refreshments at all as the catering/drinks was closed. when they were out playing eventually at 11-30 the drinks cart arrived.they thought the 400 odd euros was quite expensive to pay but to have no refreshments to 11-30 was disgraceful.however we all enjoyed playing the course the day before and had a very good meal after we finished playing.

Very tough and challenging course but beautiful and well worth it!

Best of the three course as interesting and you have to plot your way around as you do not need many drivers off the tee. Organisation a little like 'Falty Towewrs' as there are far less staff in attendance in pro shop or the course in contrast to the North/South course. Big down side was I pre ordered 3 buggies but I was told these were unavailable when we arrive as all buggies were booked out!

Great course in great condition with fanstastic views, a thinking golfers course

Loved this course and some of the quirky holes, decent par 3's this course was most entertaining. Practice facilities not really available here, poor on course service by drinks wagon considering how long you are on the course for in the heat.
