Vila Galé Cerro Alagoa is a smart, central base in Albufeira that works brilliantly for a golf break where you want beaches, easy evenings and straightforward comfort. With 310 rooms and a handy location close to the resort's restaurants and bars, it suits groups who want to play great golf by day then head out without relying on taxis all night.
The look and feel is modern and practical, with bright public spaces and private gardens around the pool area. You've got outdoor pools for adults and children, plus a kids' club and playground, so it also ticks the box for families travelling with non-golfers.
When you're done on the course, the Satsanga Spa is a genuine bonus. There's an indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, Turkish bath and gym, with massages and treatments available if you fancy an easy reset before dinner.
Albufeira gives you options. Spend an evening in the Old Town for cobbled streets, seafood and sea views, or head towards the Strip when you want late-night energy. It's a lively destination, but the hotel feels just far enough back to come home and switch off.
If you're after an Algarve base that keeps the planning simple and puts golf, sunshine and nightlife within easy reach, Vila Galé Cerro Alagoa is a dependable choice.
Who is this for?

7 Nights, 4 Rounds
Rooms here are modern and geared for an easy week away. All 310 come with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, minibar, safe, direct dial telephone and a private balcony, ideal for a post-round beer or getting kit dried out after a warm day in the Algarve. Space and style are straightforward rather than flashy, but everything you need is covered for a golf-focused stay.
For downtime, the outdoor pool set-up is simple and sociable, with separate areas for adults and children and gardens that give it a bit of breathing room. If you're travelling as a mixed group, the kids' club and playground help keep younger guests busy while everyone else heads to the pool or slips out for a late-afternoon nine.
The Satsanga Spa is the main extra, and it's a real plus on a multi-round trip. Expect an indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, Turkish bath and gym, with massages and treatments available on request. It's a good way to keep the legs fresh if you're playing several days on the bounce.
Food is centred around Restaurant Versatil, which covers a wide range of international favourites alongside Portuguese staples, making it easy to please a group with mixed tastes. For a relaxed finish to the day, Soul & Blues is a comfortable spot for a nightcap and a quick review of the scorecards before you lock in tomorrow's plans.
Overall, the facilities are strong without feeling sprawling, and that's exactly the point for most golf groups: you're well looked after on-site, with Albufeira's restaurants, bars and beaches close enough to dip in and out as you like.
One of the biggest reasons golfers choose Albufeira is the spread of quality courses within a short drive, so you can build a varied itinerary without spending your week in transfers.

Was a great hotel in 1980’s when last refurbished. Was clean and functional, breakfast good other food okay. Too far from the golf. Thumbs up to the cleaning team rest of staff were average and not particularly friendly… we always felt as guests we were a bit of an inconvenience.

We weren’t happy at all with this hotel the cleanliness wasn’t great, There was was construction work getting done right outside our rooms, 1 person had to get a room change because of a cockroach, I have to ask to have my room cleaned because it wasn’t cleaned in 2 days, we feel like we have definitely not got our value for money staying here.

Hotel is a bit dated, although clean & tidy breakfast was ok albeit in a darkened room. Pool area was nice and staff were pleasant.
