The South Course is widely regarded as Real Golf La Manga Club's premier layout, and frequently hosts prestigious regional and national events, including the Spanish Open and European Tour Qualifying School. Originally designed by Robert Putman prior to opening in 1971, the South was reworked by the great Arnold Palmer in the early 1990s, and was sharpened up in 2004. As a result, this is now a fair but thoroughly exacting test of golf.
Real Golf La Manga Club's North Course presents a different test, with tighter fairways and larger greens, all bordered by the resort's famous palm trees. While this course may be for the higher handicapper, it makes up for its lack of challenge, which can be found in La Manga’s other two courses, by priding itself on its beauty, boasting some very attractive holes. It is much hillier than the south and many of the fairways are lined with palm trees, while imaginative greenside bunkering is sustained throughout.
The West course is unquestionably the pride of Real Golf La Manga Club, with an amazing variety of holes. A beautiful course with spectacular scenery everywhere you turn, it provides a demanding test of golf requiring a first-rate game management. Frequent changes in elevation and fast greens, can cause bad shots to be punished severely.
The practice facilities at Real Golf La Manga Club are second to none. The Golf Practice Centre is seen to be one of the finest in Europe, while the Golf Academy is known for its innovative and creative teaching techniques. The academy was founded by David Leadbetter himself, a coach to countless PGA Tour, European Tour, LGPA Tour and Champions Tour players and is now run by Anthony McCarthy. It has two swing rooms and four teaching studios for groups.
Real Golf La Manga Club contains two Clubhouse restaurants. 37 Spikes & Sports Bar, which can be found at the main golf clubhouse, offers golfer’s breakfast and lunch, with free Wi-Fi and a terrace overlooking the golf courses. By the West Course, is La Princesa Restaurant. It serves typical Spanish cuisine with a great choice of wine and lovely views of the course and surrounding pine woodland. Also open all year round, for breakfast and lunch.
The courses at Real Golf La Manga Club are always cared for, allowing the holes to be in optimum condition. It is no wonder that La Manga has won many awards, such as Europe’s and Spain’s Best Golf Resort in the Today’s Golfer Travel Awards from 2011 to 2020.
However, while the golf at Real golf La Manga Club is certainly the heart and soul of the club, Real Golf La Manga Club also offers plenty of other sport facilities. This includes tennis courts as well as football, cricket and rugby pitches.
The resort has a comprehensive golf academy, and also runs regular competitions that guests can enter.

Everything was lovely. The steak was mouth watering in the Steak House restaurant. The rooms were excellent. The spa was extremely relaxing and treatments excellent. Nothing was too much for the staff. The bar had music every night and we sang and danced with the pianist. The spikes bar was also welcoming. The breakfast buffet had so much choice from cereals, breads, fruit, salmon, hams cheeses to a hot breakfast with your eggs and omelette cooked whilst you waited. All staff were exceptional and nothing was too much. There were also lovely bars and restaurants in the nearby village a five minute walk. Cannot fault anything. We were 11 and all had a fabulous holiday. Would highly recommend.

Hotel was stunning. Staff were attentive and helpful from the moment we arrived. Great choice of food available at a variety of restaurants in the main hotel or various pool bars/spikes bar. Bed was huge in the King rooms. We have a king bed at home but this was larger. Great views from the balcony over the courses. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic Family Golf Holiday at La Manga – Excellent Service from Your Golf Travel We’ve just returned from a brilliant family golf holiday to La Manga, organised through Your Golf Travel, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. I travelled with my two sons (aged 13 and 17) and my wife, who is a non-golfer, and the trip was a great success for all of us. Everything ran smoothly from the moment we arrived — transfers were on time, the hotel was excellent, and the staff throughout were friendly and helpful. We did have a small mix-up with tee times which initially meant we were only scheduled to play two of the three courses. However, once we noticed the issue, the team at Your Golf Travel were fantastic — quick to respond and proactive in resolving it. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to play all three courses as planned, which made a big difference to our experience. Each course had its own character and challenge, and all were in excellent condition. The variety really added to the enjoyment of the trip. While the boys and I were out playing, my wife made full use of the hotel and spa facilities, which she rated very highly — a perfect balance for the whole family. All in all, it was a seamless, enjoyable trip, and we’re already thinking about when we can go again. A big thank you to Your Golf Travel for making it such a memorable experience.

The hotel was fantastic—recently refurbished, it offered modern, comfortable rooms, excellent dining, and relaxing pool areas, perfect for unwinding after a day on the course. A huge thank you to Nick and the Your Golf Travel team for ensuring everything ran smoothly. With 28 enthusiastic golfers, many of whom wanted to relax just as much as they wanted to play, Your Golf Travel took all the stress out of organising, letting us focus on enjoying the trip. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Arrived without golf clubs or suitcases. Staff were excellent in follow up efforts with airline to try and find despite their and our best efforts we only got our luggage on the 5 th day so we had to abandon 3 games of golf. The reception staff were super helpful and the golf department were able to move times around so we eventually managed to get a game in on each course. Room and verandah were very comfortable. The eating venues which we used were very good which is seldom the case with 5 star hotels which claim to offer fine dining experience but fall far short. One small personal dislike “ deep fried eggs at breakfast” A bit far from the nearby towns to do much sightseeing

Excellent hotel - genuinely 5 star but worth it. Staff friendly, good-humoured and very helpful. Several restaurants (Asian, Italian, Grill and Gourmet) all serving delicious food - need to factor cost of this however into overall budget. Sweet dessert wine well worth trying. Good mojitos too at the bar beforehand.

We thoroughly enjoyed our winter break at La Manga Club. The hotel was comfortable and looks good after extensive refurbishment. The staff were attentive, pleasant and evidently very well trained, without exception. Due to being out of season many of the hotel restaurants and bars were closed and choices for dinner were limited, however this gave us the opportunity to venture out of the resort and discover other great restaurants nearby. We will definitely return!

We paid extra for a room with a balcony overlooking the golf course. We arrived after dusk and unpacked before going for dinner. When we got up the following morning, we discovered that the "balcony" was no more than 2.5 foot wide and contained one small table and a single chair. With bedroom doors that opened onto the balcony, the table had to be positioned to the left of the open doors and the chair to the right with insufficient space for a second chair even if the doors were closed behind you. Having already unpacked and with golf rounds booked for every day, we honestly could not go through the unwanted hassle of complaining in the hope of being moved to a room with a proper balcony. Having studied the resort website before booking, we understood that not all the hotel restaurants would be open out of season but we were happy with the diverse choice of cuisine offered by the four that were open in January. When we arrived, we discovered that a German premiership team and Scottish premiership team were staying and that only one restaurant was available for other residents as the others had been sectioned off for the exclusive use of the footballers. The one restaurant open to other residents alternated each night between Italian or Asian cuisine on a take-it-or-leave it basis. The VIP treatment given to the football parties was clearly to the detriment of other residents with no forewarning or price reduction offered for this inconvenience.

From the moment we entered the hotel the staff were exceptional. We were welcomed with complimentary food and drinks and given an overview on where everything was. Rooms were spacious and had all you might expect, great views from the balcony too. Facilities were good and great choice of restaurants. A slight watch out on 'conplimentary" breads etc during dinner as they charge you for these each time. Along with water being 5euros each time - a bit much!

The hotel has just been refurbished and now has 5 restaurants in the hotel. We used four of them and they were all very good in all aspects although the buffet was a tad expensive. The whole trip was well planned from flights and transfers to and from Le Manga Golf resort. Hotel Felipe staff were all very helpful and couldn't do enough to look after us. The hotel itself was a bit tired but there were renovation in progress on the other wings and a slide show of the new facilities and rooms look great. Golf facilities were very good, plenty of practice areas and course well maintained. The separate club house very inviting and good food and drink on offer. Caddie master very helpful and looked after you bags overnight thus avoiding taking them back to the hotel. As we were on B&B we did go out of the hotel a few times as we found eating in the hotel expensive. We found a couple of restaurants and a bar up the road otherwise not much open due to the time of year. Thank you to the people from Yourgolftravel for their help in planning our trip. Keith.

We enjoyed our stay but we all felt that the hotel looked and felt very tired. The carpets and headboards were stained and we had an infestation of ants in a chair in one room. This was resolved by friendly staff who offered a change of room. We understand that a full refurbishment of the hotel is due this November which should address these problems. The food and bars were good and the staff were excellent and very friendly.

A great hotel deserving of its reputation as a five star hotel. food and drink prices were what one would be expected to pay in a hotel of this quality. The staff were very helpful in organising restaurants and taxis outside the complex. we should have been staying in las Lomas village but were moved to the hotel for a small upgrade fee. Just as well because no transport was provided to get from the village to the courses and this could have added significantly to the group costs in taxi fees.

Hotel is looking a little tired and a number of facilities / restaurants have closed, presumably because of Covid. The hotel no longer run their complimentary taxi service which is a real shame - worse still, there’s no taxi service that takes you down to La Cala restaurant - they drop you off at the top of the hill so we found ourselves having to walk the 40 min trek downhill whilst dressed to impress and the girls wearing high heels - the trek back in the dark was an even worse experience!!

Everything about the hotel whilst we were there was fantastic. Great location, Great breakfast in the morning too, room was cleaned every morning. Told golf rooms on floor one. Asked for floor two next to our friends, but told no as those rooms were an upgrade. The rooms are the same size, but better appointed, updated decor and had a separate walk-in shower and a Nespresso coffee machine!! They were with Golf Breaks! Our room 110 tired and in need of decorating, but functional. Kettle & cups but no tea or coffee. Safe didn’t work! Had to ring to ask for tea etc plus drinking glasses. But no Nespresso machine!! There were demonstrations by the housekeeping staff outside the hotel. Putting that aside most of the staff were excellent. Asian food served in The Piano Bar was superb. The main restaurant for breakfast was fantastic. Dinner in the restaurant perfectly good. Spa and pool closed. Golf tee booking good, buggies €53 ( a little pricey) One male receptionist was very rude about the room enquiry! It is supposed to be a 5 star hotel and it was when we last visited! If you need to go and eat elsewhere, we found a very good steak restaurant called El Rancho in Cabo de Palos. Taxis excellent and €20 each way.

✓18 Sep 2021
Had many lovely holidays here but the hotel is starting to look quite dated & shabby now. The staff are great (but thin on the ground due to Covid) & couldn’t be more helpful. Food in Amapola & Asia restaurants were excellent. The pool is great in the mornings but not for the feint hearted when the large crowds of male (unfortunately British) golfers descend at lunchtime when the afternoon activities seem to be to see who can drink most & swear loudest. We were woken in the early hours every night, without fail, by these people drunkenly wending their way back to their rooms with no thought or consideration for other guests. We will definitely return to LaManga but think we’ll rent a villa rather than stay at the hotel.

This hotel has steadily been going downhill for years and we should know we’ve been twice a year for the last 20 years. All the rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment, all carpets in all corridors need replacing ASAP, they are sticky underfoot with God knows what, they smell pretty awful and the whole place needs painting and redecorating. It’s no secret this hotel has been up for sale for a number of years, my understanding is it was sold just prior to COVID lockdown to a small chain of hotels allegedly cash rich, if this is correct then why were the renovations not carried out whilst the property was closed down. It is not now. 5* establishment and it won’t be again until the refurbishment is complete. I love this place so I really hope the decline doesn’t turn out to be terminal. It’s one saving grace is the staff, they are wonderful, every single one we met were friendly, helpful and professional down to their shoe laces, I applaud them all for that. Once again we encountered a number of large golf societies who behaved terribly and not just when drinking, I heard a number of them effing and blinding in the breakfast restaurant when children were around. Disgusting behaviour from the Brits which has been a perennial problem for as long as I’ve been going to La Manga. The hotel needs the income from these people so I don’t know the answer to this problem, I just hope it doesn’t become their bete noire. To finish on an upbeat note the north and south course were in great condition bearing in mind the amount of traffic they get.

Due to availability we had to have the superior room, no different to standard as far as I could see but nice and comfortable all the same. Prices in the piano bar are a joke €12 for a standard gin! Try La Barra and Dantes up the road, good food and better value. The courses were all in good condition and played well and not too busy in February this time. The new Corvera airport is convenient with similar travel time to the ‘old’ Murcia one as it is all dual carriageway. Thanks to Nick Bishop at YGT - all bookings as requested with no problems - a good value trip with nice warm conditions to boot!👍

Very enjoyable stay, good sized comfortable room overlooking the 18th. Breakfast not quite as good as I remember it but still good. Hotel restaurant and bar a bit bland, lacks a bit of atmosphere but still ok. Definitely worth a visit, we’ll be there again next year.

Great place to stay for the quality of staff and location central to golf courses. We hope to come again.

The facilities were excellent as were the staff. The self service Breakfast was rather chaotic and in my opinion could be improved. This was the only fault on an otherwise excellent hotel.

Good hotel but probably not 5 star, odour of drains in rooms an corridors.

Excellent all round although the hotel room and foyer could have been anywhere in the world in that it lacked any local Spanish flavour, but all in all I guess it’s set up to deliver a practical functional experience for mostly international golfers

The room was ok but it had a damp problem and you could smell this in room and carpet in corridor was stained and constantly wet. Also was supposed to get 15 euro room credit but hotel refused to honour this deal which was annoying when settling water bill (3 euros for small bottle) at end of stay.

Just a fantastic place and resort. easy to get about, we stayed in the hotel and you can walk to 2 courses with the caddy master looking after your clubs over night. The buffet breakfast was 5 star and a great choice of restaurants within 5 minute walk.

What a test of golf for all. You'll need to add more clubs for the up hill shots as the green eat the ball when they land. Par 3's what a variety of lengths. The 18th what a great hole to finish on.

Everything was as booked, collection at the airport was on time, hotel superb with excellent service, golf tee times were all as reserved - restaurants around the resort really nice with a free shuttle service.
Check-in is after 3pm and check-out is before 12 noon
The very best thing about La Manga, is that whatever time of year you visit you will always get a good choice of places to eat and drink. My tip; head for the hotel managed restaurants, from which I’d recommend the seafood restaurant La Cala which is located at the beach.
Sport is the name of the game at La Manga, a game of tennis at the tennis centre, a trip to the incredibly well equipped gym or my favourite, a day on a bike. There are great mountain bike trails within the resort, or hire a road bike and head out to the Portman Hills, complete with the Green Mile climb, after which you will have well and truly earned your beer!
Cartagena is only 15 minutes away, and offers a fascinating day out. Founded by the Romans, Cartagena was once Spain's Capital and to this day is one of its premier naval basis. The old town is awash with great little bars and restaurants, and dare we say it perfect for an afternoon bar crawl once you've seen the sights.
Head to either the La Manga strip (June-early September only) or Los Alcazares. Both places will keep you entertained until the early (or indeed the late) hours of the morning, with both being busier at weekends than during the week.
