Open, spacious and scenic. You get big Mediterranean views, the Sierra Blanca range framing the inland holes, and fewer trees than you'd expect on a parkland layout, which means wind can be a factor, especially in the afternoon when the breeze picks up off the coast.
The quick course take (for the golfing geeks)
The land is gently sloping, so it's more walkable than some of the hillier Costa layouts. You'll find plenty of room from the tee, but it's not a "just lash it" sort of round. The cleverness tends to show up on approaches and around the greens where subtle elevation and contouring defend par. Accuracy off the tee pays when you're trying to set up birdie chances or avoid awkward lies on the second shot.

The greens are large and the fairways are relatively forgiving, but it is essential to avoid the strategically positioned bunkers that are a constant threat. Santa Clara is a relatively gentle walk, being quite flat, while the highlight undoubtedly comes around the ‘Santa Clara Corner' starting from the 12th; this picturesque sequence of par 3, 4 and 5 holes will challenge every golfer to come up with some gutsy shots, and can result in triumph or disaster.
The combination of fascinating holes and stunning scenery will ensure that every visitor to Santa Clara as part of a golf holiday will leave satisfied.

Amazing place with fantastic facilities. A little hilly and buggy needed, greens were tad slow. However, I’m being picky! I’d go back in a heartbeat 😊. Great recommendation.

This course was probably my favourite however Calanova was probably the best. The facilities were brilliant and the staff were so accommodating to us with it being a quiet day. The course was in brilliant condition and the greens were brilliant

Nicer course for Mid handicappers. Bit more open so scoring was better across our group. Some great holes. However maintenance work had just been carried out on every green, all had been punched and were very sandy so not ideal conditions there.

Best of the week even though the greens were being treated. Loved the course and facilities- only time we had a starting brief by a Marshall/starter all week- nice touch. Explained all the pin settings and etiquette really well. Decent priced food and drinks also. Would definitely return to play here .

Awesome course , one little hiccup the Marshall came round telling us to hurry up and watching us for a while put us under pressure, I tried to explain to him it’s the people in-front off us and he then came back to apologise other than that absolutely stunning course
