Set in the heart of Worcestershire, The Abbey Hotel Golf & Spa enjoys a prime location in the Midlands, surrounded by acres of rolling countryside. It is the ideal spot for a short break for golfers across the UK. The resort is blessed with a completely reconfigured 18-hole parkland course, which is set to reopen in May 2026. The new Par 70 layout (approximately 6,000 yards from the yellow tees) features two exciting new signature Par 3 holes, six new tees, and a state-of-the-art irrigation system for pristine year-round greens and tees.
With water features on six holes, the course combines natural beauty with variety and strategy. Although slightly shorter in length than the previous layout, it remains a great challenge for all abilities, encouraging quicker play while still testing every club in your bag. The redesign is fully integrated within the existing footprint, preserving the course's mature character while adding a fresh, modernized feel that ensures a truly must-play experience.

From the championship pegs, Steel's creation measures a shade under 6,700 yards, making it a genuine test of ball-striking ability, but with hotel visitors in mind, there are tees to suit golfers of all abilities. The main obstacles en route to a good score are the mature trees that line the fairways, and the lakes which are all too ready to welcome wayward golf balls.
The Abbey Golf Course layout includes mature trees, lakes and on the whole the fairways are wide with the rough not too punishing, the picturesque 6th is a 200 yard drive from the medal tee with the green surrounded on three sides by the River Arrow. The 12th is a challenging uphill par-4 drive between two mature oak trees at 250 yards with the green concealed out of sight at the top of the hill.
The Abbey Hotel & Golf Resort has invested an additional £500,000 into its Inrange Driving Range, making it one of the most advanced practice and entertainment facilities in the UK. The new two-tier, floodlit range features 26 bays equipped with cutting-edge radar tracking. This technology provides golfers with real-time shot data and club distances, performance practice modes to accelerate improvement, and a variety of fun games and global competitions for groups of all skill levels.

Getting a little tired in places.. We had a group of 18 booked in for dinner and only one poor waitress serving us all.. we ended up waiting a fair while for food in-between courses... and the food was not the decent quality we would expect...perhaps a little lazy on menus. The staff were very friendly and apart from the 'below standard' and not staffed dinner they extremely smiley and fun and didn't feel we couldn't ask.. they were also happy to keep the bar flowing at the late hour which was greatly appreciated. Perhaps some larger tables in the bar area would be useful as a large group congregating in the small area was a little intrusive for others.

Rooms clean , staff helpful . Food really good. However my sister booked a spa treatment but had to sit in a bar area which was full of male golfers in her dressing gown which made her feel uncomfortable. It would be better if the ladies that use the spa could order food and drink (which is part of the package) away from the golf bar.

Easy access from M42, the hotel has plenty of parking. Obviously well used, the hotel has spacious rooms that are clean and comfortable with all necessary facilities you would expect. Staff were very welcoming and happy to help and advise. Access to fitness and spar facilities was available with treatments bookable if wanted. Very good buffet breakfast and both lunch and dinner menu choices sufficient and tasty when food arrived. Bar prices were acceptable and choices of beers and wines good. Check in and check out a simple process.

Dinner took 1.5 hours to come out after ordering. Large group booking 50+ group over run the hotel, terrace bar was closed off for this group , had to travel out to another premises to watch the football Spa was very busy and not available due to the large group, spoiled our two days tbh , then the split the group starts at hole 1 and 9 meaning after we reached hole 9. And the group were late. We had a massive delay in our round !!! Really disappointed !

The accommodation was minimal, same as a holiday inn.The first night the fish and chips meal was disgusting! The fish was frozen processed , wouldn’t feed it to my pets. Inform the manager in the restaurant. The food wasn’t good at all. They Need to look that there menu. If you wanted to buy the fish and chips it was £19.50p bloody joke.

Easy to get to, not far off the motorway. Hotel staff all very helpful and friendly. My room (standard double) was comfortable and clean, overlooking the golf course. Food choice and quality was very good. During my stay I didn’t visit the spa/swimming pool or gym so unable to comment them. Overall a very enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend to friends and return again myself.

The hotel is nice overall and the staff could not have been more friendly. The rooms are small and could be cleaner but considering we spent 6-7 hours actually in them it was more than adequate. The toilets outside the rooms are absolutely awful. They smell terrible and need to be deep cleaned before they would be even close to acceptably. The hotel restaurant is nice with a good selection of choices on offer. Overall an okay experience with lovely staff but definitely room for improvement

I’ve organised tour of 16 a number of times at the Abbey. Most of the party are in their 70s and the hotel is showing some wear and tear. Particularly in the restaurant where I suggest they place the chairs on a large bonfire as they are literally falling apart. The staff and food are first class. However the hotel is obviously understaffed which was demonstrated in the Tawny Owl section where incredibly only one member of staff was manning the bar on the early evening of Friday. There was a huge group of youngsters finishing their Golf resulting in having to wait ages to be served in fact several of our party walked to the restaurant bar to get served because it was quicker. Goodness knows how much income the hotel lost as it just wasn’t worth the wait. During the second night we were situated in a separate room ( like the youngsters were the previous night) perhaps they thought we were being a noisy? The staff left us to our own devices and we had to get our drinks at the bar as we had no drinks service in that room. The staff were great and the food was delicious and absolutely no complaints there. Over the previous years we have a 20% drinks reduction but unfortunately not this year which has tipped the scales to us not returning next again.

We were dissapointed with the hotel, tired, run down, and in need of some TLC, spa area was disgusting!!! Broken tiles, broken grills to the jacuzzi, toilet and changing are need a good clean. Lockers all broke!!! Staff encouraged us to go off site. 8 lads who wanted to stay on site and have a beer and couldn’t watch football on the only tv because they had a 40th birthday function, then a wedding!!! Really frustrating TBH

✓17 Jun 2023
The hotel in general was very good, just a couple of things that let it down. The hotel was busy when we went, and the size of the hot food area for breakfast was just too small, which meant they were constantly running out of items and having to refill, and the size of the tea/coffee urns are not large enough to cope either. The food itself was good. Room was very comfortable with a good shower. The terrace bar was not serving any food so after our round finished at 2 we had to wait until dinner to get something to eat, that was a definite opportunity they missed out on. I must mention that the restaurant front of house lady in the evening was fantastic , and the rest of the team were friendly.

✓12 Jun 2023
We stayed on a one night DBB and 2 rounds of golf. Good Rooms clean and spacious Staff very friendly Food very good Service efficient Golf course was challenging and not ideal for high handicapper Good quality greens and fairways The Bad General area around the hotel needs some TLC Tee boxes were very untidy and not well kept Holes were very similar with not much scenery and variation other than a couple of holes. The 17th being the best. Both rounds took over 5 hours. We were waiting on every tee. This was likely due to lots of trees and thick rough on both sides of the fairway and players spending too long looking for balls. If you don’t mind 5hr plus rounds then this will be an average golf break but not for us and we will not be back. There are many higher quality facilities and courses for similar cost.

The Hotel is not large, it wasn't overly busy, the staff were all friendly, and helpful. We were 4 guys playing golf, we didn't try the spa, or the gym. There is a sports bar above the golf shop where you can watch football on a large tv, the beer is £5.50 a pint. It tends to close early 10pm, but they left the tv on for us, you just have to fetch beer from another bar. The breakfast was good, and help yourself, so it's plentiful if that's how you like it. The evening meal choice was reasonable, served very quickly, and was enjoyable. The rooms were clean, and comfortable, with the occasional angled ceiling, so mind your head. There were no complaints from any of us, a good, pleasant stay.

Charlotte was exceptionally helpful in organising the multiple groups in the restaurant and ensured everyone was happy. Also Georgia and Alberto were very efficient. All staff were friendly and accomodationg. Dean at the golf shop was very helpful, ensuring the ladies in our group had their buggies or pull trolleies. The swimming pool, gym, spa and bar were very convenient and most of used one or more of the facilities. We had a great time at the Abbey , food was excellent, but after meals getting food was tough ,considering it was a large hotel . Rooms were very good and spotless . Seemed very short staffed especially on the course . Spa and pool were very good . Golf club was very ragged around the edges, driving range had no one to pick up balls so closed it after first day . Greens were very average could have done with a cut ,so slow . No raked in solid yard bunkers ,lots of complaints from players . Overall we had a great stay but wouldn’t go back there as a golf resort as course was in desperate need of attention, could’ve been an amazing course with some TLC .

Saddened as we have been visiting here for 15 years. The rooms had not been fully serviced up to standard- there was a dirty cup and the tea tray had not been replenished in one room, various items from previous guests found discarded in another room. The shower in one room only ran luke warm and although we raised this with reception on the first day it was not sorted out. The evening meal on the Friday was lovely but breakfast on the following morning was a shambles: no coffee for twenty minutes, ran out of hash browns and pastries, no sauces… and the evening meal on the second evening was a joke. We waited over half an hour for our pre-ordered starters and then over an hour for some of the mains to arrive. Nearly two hours later, we were still waiting for the other 3 main courses to arrive. The quality, when these did arrive, was not to the standard of the previous night with some vegetables overcooked and others stone cold. We then abandoned waiting for our puddings as it was past 10pm by this point. I could go on but I feel this is already enough! Every member of staff we encountered was lovely but nothing ever really got sorted out.

Your Golf Travel were not at all helpful once money was paid. There was a mix up between YGT and the Hotel/Golf Shop, getting the incorrect days we were playing. I phone YGT 6 times, spoke to as many people, and not once did they sort things out or come back to me. I eventually sorted things out direct with the Hotel/Golf shop. Not even 1 star for YGT, all I ever got from them was how busy they were. Appalling service once money paid!!!!!

The rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious however, the windows did not open fully and the aircon was not working. The food was good and the staff could not do enough. One of our senior group members needed medical attention and for me the staff at the spa, especially Zandie Lennox, were exceptional when caring for the gentleman and we were very much appreciative of this. There was an issue with the 'in resort' spending money as we were led to believe that the money could be used 'anywhere in resort', this was not the case as the ONLY place you could use it was at the bar. I was really disappointed with the attitude of the professional in the golf shop as he was contacted the day before regarding this and he said he was not sure but did not think we could use the money in the pro shop and said he would get back to us, which he failed to do. Considering we spent nearly £5000 on the booking this, in my opinion, was unacceptable. We were expecting to use the spending money as prizes for the two golf days and then had to use our own money to fund this, which was REALLY unacceptable and when the golf professional told us that we could only the money at the bar as "there is more profit in alcohol" I was really annoyed to say the least. The manager was apologetic and very understanding however there was very little the manager could do and said they would give us some leeway when we booked next time. I have spoken to Your Golf Travel and they stated they were led to believe the money could be spent anywhere in resort. This leaves us with a very bad taste in the mouth as we basically used the money to put wine on the tables at the main meal which put a spoiler on the Away Day.

First of all the staff were great, I had a little problem with the interpretation of 20% off drinks, evidently it was restricted to the terrace bar which meant if you wanted a pre dinner or during dinner drink you had to go to the other bar (which closed at 9).. a bit of a jaunt... and carry it back to the restaurant bar or the dinner table until I had a word with the assistant manager who eventually allowed our group of 8 to get the discount at the restaurant bar, not so for the group of 28 , I won’t be rushing back to this venue

With The Abbey always having been my favourite place to stay, I was excited to be visiting after not having been for a couple of years. Much of the updating of the hotel is lovely but the service was not as it had been in the bars and restaurant. Customer service did not seem to be top of the list with us almost feeling we were annoying to some staff just by being there! Tables outside were left uncleared all morning and it almost became a standing joke between us as to what they were going to run out of next! On the Monday morning, breakfast was chaos with not enough staff and food not being replenished to meet demand. The food in the evenings, however, was absolutely delicious and did not disappoint at all. It was sad to see the previously stunning gardens and grounds splattered with weeds and rubbish and overall just appearing unkempt. The staff on reception were spot on however (as were the housekeeping staff when it appeared there was a shortage of toilet roll!) and it was a breath of fresh air to see Annie back in the Tawny bar too!

Our hotel experience didn't start well. With 13 of staying at the hotel and teeing off at 1132, I asked if they could provide breakfast for us to purchase at around 1000 on the Sunday morning. I was told that as breakfast finished at 1000, we would have to take pot luck with whatever might be left. Luckily, the Beefeater restaurant 3 minutes down the road was much more accommodating and we were able to get an excellent breakfast there. Once we had played our round, booking in was very efficient and the lady receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were ok but I'm not the tallest person at 5' 10" and the sloping roof that came halfway across my bed was particularly annoying and resulted in the inevitable coming together in the middle of the night. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we all enjoyed our dinner and breakfast. At £5 a pint, we felt that the bar was expensive but the service was good. Overall, a 4 out of 5 and we would visit again.

We were a group of 17 lady golfers. Our rooms were spacious and the Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful catering for all our various needs. The bar and restaurant staff were efficient and attentive, the meals were OK, not spectacular. We were warned that a children’s club used the pool etc from 4 - 6 which rather put that out of limits for us, too busy. A couple of ladies enjoyed a very good massage. The staff in Tawny’s Bar were also extremely helpful, all in all we enjoyed our stay.

A superb hotel and golf course. The room was large and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. It was good that there was a bath and a separate shower in the en-suite. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our only criticism was that the service was extremely slow at dinner. We had to wait nearly half an hour for our table but we were given bread and olives in the meantime, then it took 2 hours and 45 mins to have a 3 course meal. However, all four of us were really impressed with the excellent food.

The hotel was sufficient for a weekend golf tour and our party of 19 generally enjoyed their time. The thing that spoilt the weekend was the quality of the evening meal and the very poor service delivering it. The food was all pre-ordered so the kitchen and staff new exactly what had to come out and when so there was no excuse for the ridiculously long time it took to get the food out on each table. The quality of the food was extremely poor. The most popular choice was the steak burger which was dry as anything in a plain white bun, an attempt at a side salad with no dressing and a few chips that looked like they had been cooked 2 hours earlier and left warming somewhere. Everyone requested either ketchup or mayo to try and make the meal at least edible which eventually turned up after 20 minutes when everyone had near enough finished their meal. The pan fried fish option was served with an undercooked risotto that was still crunchy and a side salad that was brown on the edges. The only redeeming option it seemed like was the chicken. The service was extremely poor and I put the blame squarely at the management for a complete lack of training and understaffing which is unforgivable when they already knew how many they had to feed that night. Also both bars at the clubhouse and the main hotel bar had only one bartender and at the busiest time after everyone had come off the course there was at sometimes 3 or 4 deep queuing at the bar. Overall, although the rooms were ok everything else was spoilt by the hotel managements cost cutting in the areas of staff training and allocation of staff numbers which I communicated to the actual manager that evening. We wouldn't book this venue again.

Rooms at the Abbey where large and very comfortable. But we did have a upgrade to superior rooms. Overall the the hotel was very good but will soon be in need of a major facelift. The most disappointing thing was the lack of staff running the bars. On or first day the sports bar only had Boddingtons on draught, all the other draught beers where not available and we had to make a trip to the restaurant bar to get the likes of lager or Guinness. Food was very good, both dinner and breakfast.

We visited purely for the golf, so didn't use the spa facilities - which I guess helps to gain the star rating. The 1st floor rooms have dormer windows, and you need to watch your head! Hotel and catering staff were polite, but mainly inexperienced, which led to a few hiccups in billing, etc. However, a pleasant short trip.

Extremely poor greens. Such a great layout with some superb holes to navigate... to then reach a green that has no reception for a golf ball...the ball doesn't roll when you putt.. they are not rolled or cut properly and were very very disappointing.. I was told the course is decreasing in size soon so clearly the golf course is being left to disrepair.which I think..a little bit off when groups are still paying and playing... we probably would have looked elsewhere had we known. The Tees have not been managed at all in some time too which cosmetically was very displeasing and unfortunately this is not the quality of golf course we were looking for. Definitely will not be playing here again. Wheres the chipping green? As already said.. lovely setting but now just a 'cheap beginners course'

The course was the thing that let the place down. The greens were nothing short of terrible. Old holes weren't replaced properly and just had a load of sand chucked in. Cracks everywhere and different lengths of grass. Bobbly would be an understatement. Shame because has the potential to be a top course but has clearly been neglected. Playing out of bunkers like hitting off concrete as very little sand in them.

✓23 Oct 2024
The ground was very wet and clay soil, so many areas were soft, however there was no standing water on the course. But the pathways and leads onto fairways were very muddy and it was not possible to avoid them. So trolleys, shoes very muddy with no water wash to clean them. There is a air jet, but even that was dirty around about, so more mud picked up when using the equipment. Nowhere to store golf clubs/trolleys overnight. So golfers' experience was below expectations. I suspect in winter the course will not be much different. We will not go again.

Course was pretty good and considering the rain they had was in pretty good condition. The bunkers were full of water but that was not the fault of the golf club. Day 1 was good we were fortunate that nobody was in front of us and got around really quickly . The pro staff were superb and really helpful getting my 80 year old Dad a buggy which was much needed . Sadly day 2 was so busy that it took us over 2 and a half hours to play 8 holes and we decided to walk in as it was so slow. It may have been unfortunate timing and we picked a date when there was a large number of societies . However I would like to reiterate that the staff at the golf course were really helpful!

Good facilities include a driving range and large practice green. Well stocked golf shop. Trolleys and buggies available, though buggies charge at £36 per round probably could be less or might be an inclusion in the offered golf packages? Tees were in some instances a little rough but fairways and greens in excellent condition. Course was not too busy so a walked round was about 4 hours and buggies enabled us as 3 ball to complete in just under 3.5 hours (two 20 and 28 handicap). Overall with good weather a good golf break was had.

✓6 Aug 2024
The course was very hard, No golf balls landed on the greens, just rolled off! You hit your ball 10/20 feet shorter than the green to get it on. The bunkers look fabulous in the magazine, no sand and hard as concrete. We didn’t see one green keeper for the whole of the weekend. Due to me not been able to walk far, buggies were £36.50 per day x 3 days = £109.50 A lot of money for a buggies. Members £19.00 per buggy. Golf guests getting ripped off. I will not be recommending Abby hotel to my friends and family. The pool area was with young children running around. being too crowded. The sauna, steam was alright. The Terrance bar was nice looking over the 18 hole. The comment of the day was “ Micky mouse course” with below par dining at night!

Our group consisted of 4 mid handicap (10-21) ladies. We all really enjoyed the course although some of the bunkers were in need of maintenance. A couple of the par 3s were difficult to get on in particular the 10th over water! The pro shop was small without any ladies clothing although very few pro shops do have any ladies clothing! The golf pro himself was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to friends and return ourselves.

The course was pretty good (definitely above average) being varied and well presented. It interestingly winds its way around and through a lovely housing estate. Some good challenging holes and plenty of water as well. The front 9 feels shorter than the back. Importantly, the greens were proper greens (very true and quick!) The only downsides being the bunkers (which were either GUR or hadn't been raked) or a few pin positions which were only a few yards from the edge of greens in places. The practice green was great but if there were any other practice facilities I must have missed them. I would definitely recommend this for a 2 round, one night get away with friends. At this price point it is superb value. Our group of eight ranged from 3 to 19 handicappers. We would come back again sometime in the future I'm sure.

I was quite disappointed with this course. 8 of us played two rounds and were really unhappy with the condition of the fairway which at times had a closer resemblance to a field than golf course at times. We literally could not tell where the fairway even was as there was no major difference between the rough and fairway. Our group lost countless balls in the "fairway" which led to a lot of frustration. We weren't expecting perfection but hitting the fairway in golf should be rewarded . Being in the fairway on this course most certainly was not a reward. I cannot complain about the greens though which were very good as if these had been bad we might have abandoned playing all together. The putting green is also great. The range too was nice although we could only use it once as the ball pickup machines broke on our second day! My advice is to find somewhere better for your money
David
✓14 May 2024
The layout and potential of the course is fine but the condition was very poor. The greens had many small areas of damage, the tees were scruffy, the semi rough was lethal with so much old cut grass several balls were lost just off the fairways. The majority of the bunkers were choked with weeds and should have been GUR.

Really poor condition. Fairways badly cut with random clumps of long grass. The greens are a disgrace. Ever green covered in pitch marks, impossible to putt properly. 1st round took just over 6hrs due to an 8 ball of non-golfers playing infront who were doing shots before each tee off. We won’t be returning or recommending this place

✓21 Apr 2024
Absolutely terrible course - every person I spoke to lost over 10 balls each. The rough has not been managed at all and the grass off the fairway was unplayable and meant lost balls all the time. And the greens were full of divots, pot holes and were bad. I would like a refund of the golf part of this trip.

✓24 Sep 2023
The rough at the side of each hole was really unforgiving. Many times a good drive would roll a few feet off the fairway and be almost impossible to find. My group both lost and found many balls as we searched for the ones off the fairway and I know other golfers had the same problem. The greens were good and well kept. Like most courses at this time of year, the bunkers were full of hard wet sand. The buggies were also expensive at over £30 a round!!

No second cut on any greens or fairways. Bunkers very little sand. As the Hotel needs some TLC.
Paul
✓11 Sep 2023
Our party have played this course over the last few years. Unfortunately the rough has got too tough with any shots just off the fairway probably resulting in a lost ball. It’s a tight course made tighter with holes on the 13th being restricted with out of bounds reduced on the left. Presumably a cost cutting exercise. The bunkers were inconsistent most with very little sand. The fairways were alright in general but masses of cut grass on numerous areas and it easy to lose a ball even if you hit a good shot! Because of our age group we are reliant on buggies which cost us £35 each buggy cost us £840 for 8 buggies per day which was a bit costly and we paid the same for the Friday. A minor hiccup was we had to wait until just before we were due to tee off as someone hadn’t charged them up apparently but we did get off in time. There was no food/ drinks buggy on the course which was disappointing particularly as the temperatures were in the the 30s C. The greens were excellent when we we’re lucky to get to them.

This was a lovely course which really made you think about you shots, no massive advantage for really long hitters. The greens in general were good, a few had areas that were cracking due to being dried out. The greens were hard and could of done with watering , which meant that it was almost impossible to get any approach shots to hold on the green. The only other things to mention were that there were not enough bins , and the ones out there were overflowing for the 3 days we went. They should also look into having either a halfway hut or a drinks buggy service, it was very hot all weekend and they would of made a killing. Overall we did enjoy the course.

The course was already wet from days of rain, not as we use them but it was too wet to consider buggies. Along with it's other hazards, it has a number of sneaky ditches to catch you out, and the par 3s are tricky. we were 4 x 18 - 24 handicappers, it has mostly wide fairways, but puts up a good challenge for our level of play. The greens were pretty good considering the dampness. It rained on all of our 3 days, would love to try it again in good conditions to give a better judged overall rating.

We had 3 rounds and on the wet Friday took nearly 5 hours as we got stuck behind a four ball who had let a two ball through who then held everyone up. We then became pals with the four ball. Saturday followed the same four ball out and the course was busy and no one was going anywhere but a nice sunny day. We met two couples on most tees so with banter with the four ball and the two couples great day. Also had a bit of humour with the marshal who told us a two and four ball 3 groups ahead were holding everything up. We met up with the fourball we had followed in the bar for drinks and banter. Sunday morning didn't have to wait on any tees even though the course was busy. There are a couple of difficult holes over water that can hold things up and the long wispy grass meant people spending longer looking for balls. Only things we would change was the sports bar that had lack of atmosphere, didn't show any golf and during the England game the TV went down so went back to room to watch. And the amount of rubbish people leave on the course, especially beer battles, crisp packets and chocolate bar wrappers.

Nice Parkland Course with a good selection of holes, very good greens. A easy walk with nice water features to make you think your way around.

We've been to the Abbey twice before which is why we went again. Since our last visit several holes have changed which made it different for us which was good. The only gripe we had was on the last day. On several occasions we noticed there was long gaps between groups despite being told the course was rammed. When we asked about moving up our tee time it was refused despite 8 groups not turning up, being told they might turn up late when obviously they wouldn't. Despite this all 7 golfers ( 2 tee offs easily moved up) enjoyed the weekend.

Really nice course. We were told the course was busy on Saturday & Sunday and that it would take approx 4.5 to 5 hours with buggys but both rounds only took 4 hours. There wasn't too much waiting around for other groups in front.

In view of the weather during the previous day, the course was in remarkable condition although there were no buggies on day one, but after a dry night, they were available on day two. found the walk through the housing estate a bit quirky.

Fantastic course, quite flat but still had plenty of challenges for all levels of golfers. Could do with a few extra signs to direct golfers to the next hole around the course. We had a buggy and they were clean and well kept. Would definitely go there again...

Quite a nice course but it was so busy and was unable to play with any fluidity. Constant stop start, there were just to many people crammed into the days golf which meant I did not enjoy the day.

First of all I have to say that the staff were great and very knowledgable and helpful.... I know the weather wasn’t good but generally the course lacks a bit of TLC teeing off from mats this early in the year is unusual 100,150&200yard markers were small plaques in the fairway, most courses put marker posts at the side of the fairway which is more visible therefore speeding up the game, the bridge connecting the 17th tees with the fairway which meant a trek down the 16th and around the lake to get to your ball which was of course caused by the severe rain fall the night before, again a lack of TLC the bridge couldn’t have been strong enough in the first place, if I was a member of the golf club I would be a bit wary of the lack of long term investment in the course. Again I won’t be rushing back to this place

Was a shame that the golf course was closed from 1pm on the Sunday (so unable to play) because of heavy rain & flooding which couldn't be helped. however the course was open the following day & the condition of the course was good.

Good course, only disappointment was the bunkers, very little sand. Have to try and avoid them better. Very helpful professional.

Although the course is relatively flat - it was narrow in parts and tricky in places - definitely a thinking mans course!

Our group of 13 had a range of handicaps from 8 to 28 with most of us around the high teens and we all enjoyed playing this course. The course was in good condition despite the lack of rain last year and was already showing signs of good growth. In fact, the grass immediately off the fairway is long enough to hide a ball and we last a few balls because of that. I know that its our fault that we didn't keep to the fairway but for the ball to roll off and get lost is very frustrating. The greens were in excellent condition and whilst not too quick, were consistent and they were certainly challenging. The position of the lakes was excellent and really made us think about our shots. We still donated a few balls to the water gods though. The proximity of the housing estate to some of the holes was interesting and we were extremely impressed that the course boundary was marked simply by white OOB marker posts rather than any ugly fencing. The seamless transition from golf course to garden in a few places looked so much better that it might have done. Overall, an excellent course and we will definitely be back to play it in the future.

We were very lucky with the weather! The gentlemen in the pro shop were helpful with advice on holes for nearest the pin and longest drive. Some rounds were slow but on the whole OK. The greens were on the slow side and there was little run on the fairways but it would keep on raining! We all enjoyed our stay .

The course was in good condition, with true greens and decent fairways. My only issue was with the length of the 2nd cut grass - it was too long, meaning time was wasted trying to find balls that were only slightly off-line. Similarly the rough was too extreme - you could guarantee spending the full time allowed searching every time a ball went in it, further slowing down the round. A lot of courses these days seem to be cutting back on the severity of rough to speed up play - I think they could benefit from doing that here.

We had two rounds of golf and thoroughly enjoyed both. The greens were a little patchy and offcuts of cut grass were on the greens. Apart from that, very enjoyable.

Course was as expected for this time of year. Greens had been treated so were tricky but overall enjoyed our two rounds.

It’s an excellent, quite demanding course with every hole offering interest. We were disappointed that there wasn’t a marshall on the course as the pace was painfully slow. We played Saturday and Sunday, both taking over 5 hours. We hadn’t played the course before and were amazed that there were no course planners for sale in the pro shop, nor any hole plans on the tees. The fareway markers were discs on the ground which were hard to spot...post markers would have been much easier to see.

Nice course where the greens were in very good nick. The only minor problems were they had every par 3 hole on temporary tee's which is ridiculous when the ground was still firm. The signage to the next tee around the course is also poor if you haven't played the course before.

Great course with very challenging par 3s all supposedly high handicap holes, but all played really hard. A great selection of holes which made us all plan or way round. The most disappointing aspect was very poor golf shop for such a large complex. No starter on course and unhelpful member of staff in the golf shop.

Kept in good condition, and great variety in terms of holes. There was a few blind holes, but interesting all the same. GPS watches don't quite work on the course, so can only assume they have altered the layout recently.

Played the course twice, and enjoyed both games. As expected, play was slow, because our two=ball was sandwiched between lots of 4-ball visitors. But the weather was great, so no problems!

Staff in the yawned bar were excellent went out of the way to help & as it was overbooked they made a huge effort to compensate for this Overall it was a good weekend with great friends but not a place a would recommend to return Hotel looked tired & in need of updating Several issues in the room like shower needed repair temperature gauge wouldn't change. Main issue was that we were booked in the restaurant both nights but we were put in the yawned bar for the first night & menu was not what we were expecting Cannot though express how great the staff are in this bar
