The Open 2027

About The 2027 Open

There is no tournament in golf quite like The Open, and there is no venue on earth like the Old Course. From July 11–18, 2027, golf’s original major returns to the legendary Home of Golf for The 155th Open Championship.

This isn't just another tournament; it’s a historic pilgrimage. The 2027 championship marks the 31st time the Old Course has hosted the event, arriving exactly five years after Cameron Smith’s unforgettable final-round 64 to capture the Claret Jug at the historic 150th Open.

Furthermore, 2027 marks exactly 100 years since the legendary amateur Bobby Jones triumphed here in 1927, adding yet another layer of deep history to the week.

Beyond the tournament ropes, the surrounding Kingdom of Fife offers the ultimate playground for any golfer; you can walk the championship fairways by day and tee it up yourself on legendary local links like Kingsbarns or Dumbarnie Links.
