Druids Glen Resort has been a headline act in Irish golf since day one, and being named European Golf Resort of the Year in 2005 tells you the standard you're dealing with. The place has only moved forwards since, with both the Druids Glen and Druids Heath courses continuing to bed in and mature. Druids Glen is the big draw for many, a four-time Irish Open host that's earned the occasional 'Augusta' comparison for its presentation and scenery. It's a proper tournament test, and you can see why it's hosted the Irish Open four times.
You'll find the resort in the Wicklow Hills, around 45 minutes south of Dublin city centre and under an hour from the airport, which makes it ideal for a quick long weekend or a longer Ireland itinerary. Co. Wicklow, the 'Garden of Ireland', brings the drama, with rolling woodland, clean air and proper countryside views the minute you arrive.
Off the course, there's plenty to keep non-golfers happy and golfers well fed. The spa and health club is a genuine selling point for groups mixing golf with recovery time, while Hugo's Restaurant has picked up two AA Rosettes. If you're weighing up options, it's also worth a look alongside other top stays in Ireland on our best golf resorts guide. It's polished without feeling stuffy, and it works brilliantly for golf groups who want everything on site.

Picture yourself standing on the first tee at dawn, morning mist rolling across the Wicklow Mountains while the Irish Sea glimmers in the distance. This is Druids Glen - a 360-acre sanctuary nestled between the majestic Wicklow Mountains and the Irish Sea, where every round feels like a journey through Ireland's most stunning landscapes.
Often uttered in the same breath as Augusta, Druids Glen may not have the character of some of the seaside courses on the east coast of Ireland, but it is one of the best parkland layouts in Dublin and the UK.
From the forest that once was home to the Druids, Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock have created a masterpiece, featuring numerous spectacular holes. The most famous may be the 12th, a delightful downhill par-3 where golfers play over the now famous bank of flowers in the shape of a Celtic Cross, but this is but one hole in a course of classics.

The Druids Heath course may be relatively young, but it has already garnered much attention from the golfing fraternity. The mixture of heathland, parkland and links makes this one of the most exciting and innovative golf courses to be built in the last few years, and has only cemented Druids Glen's reputation as one of the premier golf break destinations.
There are over 1,000 pubs in Dublin, and a visit to at least a few of them to sample the local brew is essential to any Dublin Tour.
Hole 12 (Druids Heath), Par 4, 492 yards, SI 1
At 492 yards, the 12th is an especially tough hole to achieve birdie. While the fairway starts by sloping uphill, it then turns to the right and starts sloping left to right towards a dangerous looking pond. To reach the green in two will be a tough ask for most golfers, not only due to the length but also because of the bunkering which surrounds the green from both sides. A fantastic hole, presenting a challenge for all and requiring risk reward golf to make par.

The 145 guest rooms blend contemporary comfort with traditional Irish character, each designed to feel like a retreat after your round. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views across either the championship Druids Glen Course or the rolling Wicklow countryside beyond. Egyptian cotton sheets, modern en suite bathrooms and thoughtful touches throughout ensure you'll sleep well, ready for another day on the links.
Rooms range from comfortable doubles through to spacious suites, with the same polished finish throughout. Many look out over the course or across the Wicklow landscape. The suites provide generous living spaces and panoramic views that take in the best of the surrounding countryside, ideal for groups or couples wanting extra room to spread out.
Public spaces maintain the same understated elegance. The lobby welcomes you with warm Irish hospitality, setting the tone for your stay from the moment you arrive. This isn't just accommodation, it's the foundation of a proper golf trip, somewhere you'll actually want to spend time between rounds rather than simply a place to sleep.
Hugo's Restaurant holds two AA Rosettes and showcases modern Irish cuisine built around local ingredients. Expect dishes that celebrate the best of Irish produce, locally sourced beef and fresh seafood prepared with skill and presented without fuss. The dining room's contemporary design and garden views create a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for recapping the day's golf over a bottle of something good.
The Garden Rooms and Bar is a more casual option, with an impressive selection of Irish whiskies and views overlooking the famous par-3 13th on the Druids Glen Course. It's the natural gathering point after your round, somewhere to share stories and settle bets while watching other groups navigate one of the course's signature holes.
Woodstock House sits at the 1st tee of the Druids Glen Course, providing another dining option with a fantastic setting. Whether you're fuelling up before your round or celebrating afterwards, the location puts you right in the heart of the golf experience.
Between rounds, the Elemis spa offers treatments designed specifically for golfers, targeting the muscles that take the strain during 18 holes of championship golf. The swimming pool provides a refreshing escape, while the fitness centre ensures you can maintain your conditioning even on rest days. The health club facilities are comprehensive without being overwhelming, everything you need to recover and prepare for the next round.
Druids Glen Resort continues to rank among one of our customers' highest rated resorts in the UK & Ireland, and once you've experienced it, you'll understand why golfers keep coming back. The combination of two championship courses, luxury accommodation and genuine Irish hospitality creates something special, with every detail considered to make your golf trip work.

The hotel was a disappointment. Probably it was a top 5 star hotel in the past, now tdhat’s long gone. It was crowded with screaming children and there were hardly any golfers. The Hugo restaurant is very medium quality. The 2 golfcourses are great but the hotel, the restaurants and driving range are very below standard.

To Early in the season, the greens need work flat but patchy, fairways had been sanded they must of scattered tons on them , if you caught the ground a touch heavy all you saw was sand , overall the course is not for beginners or even any one over 12Hc in my opinion, the front nine I just about played to my 13HC the back nine well shall we say it was very difficult, stroke index 1 the 13th the carry was at least 200 yards from the green tees and most holes on back were to hard , even if I had played it a few times, one mistake and your card would be wrecked , but glad I have played it , I would say play it in June you would get a bit more roll this may help , loved the par 3s overall very good , but been completely honest with my opinion. Thanks Mr M Gardner April 2026
