Renowned for hosting an unprecedented four Ryder Cups along with numerous European Tour events, The Brabazon offers a challenging experience for parkland golf enthusiasts. The course is consistently maintained to perfection, featuring exceptional greens.
The excitement often unfolds at the short par-4 10th hole and the captivating 18th. These holes have etched themselves into Ryder Cup history, highlighted by Seve’s legendary drive on the 10th, Sam Torrance’s iconic putt that clinched the Cup on the 18th in 1985, and Christie O’Connor’s stunning 2-iron shot over the lake at that same concluding hole.
The PGA National stands out as the sole PGA-branded golf course in England. It proudly hosts two European Tour Events and is meticulously maintained throughout the year. The course features an inland design that offers a variety of challenges, including water hazards and cleverly positioned bunkers. Golfers who conquer the 18 holes will require exceptional shot accuracy and a sharp eye for navigating the quick greens, ensuring a rewarding yet challenging experience for even the most skilled players.
The Derby Golf Course may not have the same level of fame as its renowned counterparts, but it offers a delightful golfing experience. Stretching 6099 yards with a par of 70, this course caters to players of all skill levels, featuring a mix of water hazards and cleverly designed risk-reward holes. While it may not be the longest course out there, The Derby challenges you to use strategy during your play. It serves as a refreshing alternative to The Brabazon and PGA National courses, making it a great choice for those enjoying a golfing getaway at the Belfry.
The Belfry is home to some of the finest practice facilities in the country and visiting golfers can benefit from world-class tuition at England’s only PGA branded Golf Academy. Practice / teaching facilities at The Belfry include a 34 bay floodlit driving range, a superb putting green and dedicated short game practice area, as well as 5 individual custom fitting suites where golfers can make use of video analysis and launch monitor technology to better understand their games.
Named after Sam Torrance, who of course holed the winning putt at The Belfry in 1985, as well as winning as a Captain here in 2002, Sams Bar at The Belfry is a great place to enjoy a bite to eat or a well deserved drink after your round. With an elevated seating area, golfers can also relax while gazing out over the courses and during the summer months, a cold beer al fresco style on the terrace is hard to beat as you watch golfers coming up the 18th, as well as taking on the exciting tee shot from the iconic 10th hole on the Brabazon. A fire pit ensures you can enjoy al fresco dining even after the sun has started to go down.
NB - Reservations cannot be made for Sams Club House but with ample space, it is very likely you will be accommodated.
The Belfry recently undertook an extensive £26 million refurbishment programme which has restored the hotel and the resort facilities so that they match the quality found out on the courses. Making golf breaks at The Belfry a quality all-round experience.
Despite being set in 500 acres of tranquil countryside, The Belfry is just a short drive from the centre of Birmingham in Sutton Coldfield and can be easily accessed from the M6 and M42, not to mention being just 20 minutes from New Street Station and 10 minutes from Birmingham International Airport. If you’re leading a life of luxury, the resort even has its own Helicopter Pad.
While the courses are relatively flat and easy to walk, those who want buggies should book well in advance and check on buggy restrictions in relation to course conditions.
The Belfry hotel boasts 324 guest bedrooms, ranging from the more comfortable standard twins and doubles through to their superior rooms. For a particularly memorable occasion, there are 11 spacious suites and the Presidential Suite.
The guestrooms are tastefully decorated and well-furnished, while many offer excellent views over the manicured gardens or the golf courses. The 550 acres of Warwickshire countryside in the West Midlands make for a sublime backdrop, while spending time in the hotel will evoke memories of the superb Ryder Cup matches to have been staged at The Belfry, particularly when you pass the European and American team rooms, where so many rousing speeches have been delivered.
This special atmosphere pervades the whole resort, and only serves to improve the experience of your golf break at The Belfry.
For a more formal dining experience, The French Grill offers a superb menu featuring modern European cuisine and overlooks The Brabazon course.
Furthermore, the buffet on offer at The Atrium offers an endless array of delicious classic dishes.
Following a round of golf, try Sam's, which is ideal for the hungry golfer, alternatively head to the Brabazon Bar for a drink.
Health & Wellness at The Belfry offer a range of facilities that include a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa pools. In addition there’s a state-of-the-art gym with a range of TECA equipment from Italy, fitness studio, tennis and squash court.
Relax in the AquaSpa, a 90 minute journey through a series of 12 zones, experience hot and cold sensations with cleansing steam, piercing ice showers, aromatherapy mood lighting and a multi-featured hydrotherapy pool.
The Belfry is located in Warwickshire just off the M6 Toll and M42 motorways, 10 miles North of Birmingham Airport and International Train Station.

It was are 7th time there as part of yearly golf tour. Golf and hotel are great but we use local high quality restaurants for value and quality dining. Highly recommend The Belfry.

Hotel was well kept but was extremely busy in the bars and pool area. Our rooms weren’t on the main building and were in the new Brabazon building which was a little inconvenient. The food options were limited felt more like fast food options only during the day. We tried both à la carte and buffet for the evening meal that was average. We had some treatments at the spa which were really good

We were upgraded to the brand new Brabazon House alongside the 10th hole, amazing room and view. Enjoyed Sam's Bar and The Brabazon Bar watching the Ryder Cup. Only issue was 10% automatically being added to each bar transaction. Not a problem with tipping if the service warrants it, but they shouldn't assume.

They also sneak a 10% service charge on everything ( naughty) . Pool / sauna very nice . No fridge in the room was a surprise! . Very busy resort . Unfortunately no air-conditioning in room and security locks on windows so could not open fully. Staff very friendly and helpful, great facilities. Food in Ryder Restaurant at dinner expensive for a la carte, and buffet very much catering for the masses. Shame other restaurant was not open and next time would eat either in Sam’s Bar or elsewhere off site. After checking in found a bag of rubbish outside room door which remained there until the next morning.

The hotel / resort caters for everything you need during your stay. The dtaff are friendly and nothing is too much bother. The only thing I can gripe about isvthe hiked up prices in the bars and restaurants Tea 5.50 coffee 5.50 sausage roll 5.50 can of monster 5.50. They certainly have the monopoly on food and drinks as you are quite isolated. If your a bit tight there is a shop up the road if you can be bothered to drive there. Overall a great stay and well looked after .

✓30 Apr 2025
Overall very good, they certainly know what they’re doing when it comes to servicing a golf weekend. Room comfort lost a star as was a little too warm with no air con. Only ate breakfast, which was fine for the price we were paying. The main bar is very lively on a Fri/Sat night, which is fine if that’s what you’re after. Value for money - whilst the golf break price was very reasonable, the price for drinks was on the high side, particularly in the hotel bar.

The hotel was great for what we wanted. My only gripe was that I verbally booked 12 buggies for our large group to be told there wasn’t any reservation in place for day one, only day two. It turned out through heresy that they had over 20 buggies out of action. I felt rather fobbed off to be honest.

Lovely hotel, however the room I stayed in wasn't the best. Beds very soft and no locks on the wheels so very easy to move about. Disappointing lunch on arrival not served very hot. 10% service charge on everything at point of purchase without asking even when buying a pint at the bar without table service. Nice welcome .. easy parking .. lovely hotel and room .. bars are good .. breakfast in Ryder was excellent with good service .. Dinner was a bit of let down in Ryder .. we did not opt for the Buffett instead and went for the main menu.. service was excellthe food was not a great standard even though a fab choice of options .. also when booking they take 20 pound per person deposit but it does not automatically come off the bill end of night so when having a few wines it was easy for forget and so when remembering the next day .. and asking reception to remove they asked why I didn’t mention it to restaurant night before .. In the same token why is it not deducted automatically.. Otherwise great stay and will be back

I cannot fault the staff + Restaurant/bars. Everything on this side was 5 stars and more. Everyone we spoke to was smiling, bubbly and more than happy to help which was a really nice touch. I'm talking from when we walked in, to pool area, on the golf course or other staff we bumped in to. The Pool area was a little bit dated with a few repairs going on. Loads of funny noises and high pitched sirens in the steam room and things like this but nothing that would stop me from coming back. What is going to stop me coming back is the rooms.. (I wasn't the only one to complain about this) but the rooms do not have air con??!?! Only the Apartments and other areas do. So, they give you a Dyson fan in the corner of the room. We have just got back from the Belfry and it has been a storm weather warning so the humidity was at it's highest so that didn't help. So, in a really hot room with the loudest fan meant next to no sleep and the next morning we had the tee time for the Brabazon which we booked the trip for. Instead of taking it all in, we had about two hours sleep and wanted to get home. If, the sleep and the room was up to standard, this trip would've been a strong 9.5 out of 10. What a let down.

Fabulous and golf royalty. Very friendly and organised. A vast complex and very busy with golf being just one of the events happening. Expensive if you want more than one beer... Informed reception who asked them to be quite … this stopped but then started again at 3am where they were using the corridor as a putting green …the reception wasnt far and could be heard but they did nothing and i was sick of asking them to sort the group out … informed reception the following day and they did nothing not even an apology … this then spoilt day 2 as we were very tired Im so disappointed spent a lot of money for my husbands 50th birthday for this golf trip away its unacceptable that the hotel didnt do anything or recognize who this has impacted on our stay Im not rating the courses at this has spoilt the whole trip

The room was poor we were allocated a disabled room. The first night was poor as there was a generator running all night. At the same time we were next to a person who was scoring and gasping for breathe as though on some sort of a machine. This was not the persons fault but added to the disappointment of the first night. We were not able to be given an alternative room until the following day. We were moved the next day and refunded £66. Otherwise great venue and courses!

The hotel is huge rooms modern however had a Dyson air conditioner bit noisy . Bars full food nice drinks extortionate. Went to an empty room to do a presentation of our golf day and within 2 minutes security arrived & turfed us out! We had to go outside! Apart from that staff generally good.

Accommodation was poor this time around. No fridge in the room for drinks plus no air conditioning or fan, so we had to have the window open at all times but was put right next to a huge building site so constant noise!

Room was lovely and perfect size. Great breakfast options although the pink-haired lady was very officious and bordering rude. Be prepared to pay London prices (if not more) for drinks and food (which was sub-standard). It is what we expected: an expensive resort, but exactly what you need for a short stay.

The complex is great, sports bar is brilliant (especially with the open on) and the food was really nice. The buffet food was excellent, we were going to have something off the menu but we was first ones in and the food was fresh. The only downfall is that there is 0 air con in the rooms and they get really hot. There was a small fan but that wasn't doing anything. Pro shop is well priced too, a lot of places charge more for their writing on there but it was same price. I would defo return and recommend others too, the deal was very reasonably priced.

The belfry is just a building site ATM. Parking is a nightmare and the toptracer driving range is closed. Not good considering I wanted to set up my new driver before playing. I paid top money and was disappointed that we were not informed of this before we booked. The room did not get serviced. I asked and was told you have to request it. Which apparently you get told on email from the hotel but as we booked via you this again was missed out

The branazon played well really enjoyed our game, the PGA national was really dirty I felt disgusting after coming off the course, Hotel staff were really nice, For the hotel I didn’t enjoy my stay at all no air con the rooms were roasting hot a were put right above the late bar witch didn’t finish until 2 o’clock in the morning, none of our group slept at all we were really disappointed by this.

Hotel room was nothing special considering it’s called a signature room. Sams bar was good for the football, food was ok. Staff and customer fallout was happening in front of me when I queued for the bar, which made me feel uncomfortable, and for the customer. Was disappointed that every time I ordered a drink, there was a service charge added. £8.50 for a pint is very extreme….

This is a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The only issue we had was every time you order a drink at the bars they have a service charge even if you carry it yourself. Daylight robbery how can they add on a charge with no notification anywhere that they are doing it. Sneaky and underhand in our opinion

Upon arrival at our 2 day trip we came to notice that our golf tee times weren't booked in at all when conversing with the golf shop front desk. Among the stressful situation the golf shop assured us we still would get tee times during that day and the day after. But mentioned speaking with the reservations desk to double check out room booking. When visiting the hotel reservations desk and explaining the situation, the lady was sincere and apologetic. Offered us early check in, late check out in addition to a complimentary drink as an apology for whatever went wrong. Overall, apart from the stressful start, we had a great experience with the hotel itself. Staff were welcoming, friendly and generous in their service.

✓13 Nov 2023
The facilities were excellent but the application of a 10% service charge is just not acceptable but just wrong, it should be up to the Hotel Owners to pay the staff within the charge applied to the customer for service and facilities. It should be up to the customer to reward good service I’m sure I’m not the only person who has brought this issue up, most people we met during the weekend had something to say on this matter. Would not return to this venue and would advise others that might consider it about this issue, the price level for the food and especially drinks they are already a level or higher level to reflect the venue.

Initial welcome was very warm and friendly at hotel reception. One of the golf starters was similarly friendly and chatty. Beyond this, the rest of the interactions with staff was average. The hotel is amazing and staff are also brilliant! The rooms are very nice with some lovely touches however the single beds are a little small for most men and when comparing to other venues we have visited as a group, double beds have always been present in the twin rooms. Venue is a very good place for groups. The trip was spoilt by finding out a day before we had been booked in hotel not the parklands dorm area for 16.It would have been useful if Your Golf Travel would have confirmed this and the Belfry agree before we travel.Rooms are starting to look tired lights didnt work and fittings falling off.Smell of drains really poor.Food ridiculously expensive and the 20% discount also needs to be confirmed on the booking because wouldnt give us this on food and drink.Shame because the golf and set up extremelly good.

Good size twin room. Sky in the in room TV allowed to watch sports whilst getting ready You had to request housekeeping rather than it just being each day. A little odd, but one to be aware of. Staff very friendly and professional. Sam's bar. Nice atmosphere. Pints about £7 to 8 and a burger and chips about £20 to give you an idea. fine hotel, very friendly from front off house welcome to golf shop and bars etc. As we had buggies booked and not allowed on the course due to weather, felt we should have had the option of elect buggies, they were all booked out so we had pull ones we hired, had we known then may have taken our own elect trollies. perhaps the hotel/golf should have enough elect for bad weather as its premier place to play ?

Good accommodation but no aircon which wouldn’t have been a problem except we were in delivery central so noisy. Stayed a few times now hotel is nice but you are over charged on everything which is a shame Coffee 5.50 beer 7 pound and on top of that they add a service charge to every order and don't tell you about it.

Wonderful hotel, staff and facilities however once there the cost of everything is very expensive, £5.50 for a cup of coffee and £50 for Buggy hire. That being said, we will be going back!!

We had booked in February last year but were allocated 2 rooms as far apart as they could be. We had no pillows on arrival and having requested 4 times I sat in reception until 10pm before pillows were provided. The food was adequate but not exceptional and the alcohol extortionate 3x G and T £60 with a service charge added even though I collected myself from the bar.

Venue was incredible, facilities good. Rooms where far too hot and no way of cooling them down. bars decent too. Only negative was them adding service charge on drinks / rounds at the bar. No issues with it on table service so on but not having to go up and get your own drinks, we were having £70+ rounds and they added 10% on.

Everything was great. Spa, not fully working and in need of upgrade. Gym, great kit and very tidy. Room 1302, tidy and comfortable enough. BIG let down, the constant stream of drunk people passing and partying in the corridor from 11:39-3:30am. One of my friends had to be relocated. This really was frustrating.

There was an automatic Service charge on your bill every time you got a drink or food. We found this unnecessary in this current climate we are in, it should be optional

The hotel was great with brilliant facilities all around. The bars and restaurants are superb and the rooms in the hotel are good. Most of the staff in the hotel are really helpful and pleasant but one or two staff mainly in the restaurant didn't seem to be aware of when we had finished our food. The staff at the golf course were very helpful and polite. Just a few things that didn't go so well. We all found the bar prices at the hotel to be extremely high and quite a lot more than last year, also the rooms didn't get clean towels for the 3 days we were there.

Hotel great as always, this is the first time I have come across every golfer complaining about the bar charges. We got 20% off in Sams bar which is fine. then everyone got a 50p per drink Gratuity charge !!! That means 16 of us £8.00 charge per round !!!!!! something needs to be done about it. Everyone I talked to said they were not going back. Please pass onto the Belfry. Kevan

Overnight stay with two rounds of golf at a great price. YGT managed the booking every step of the way and sorted all my queries and changes as soon as they could. Course were great, food option were good and the staff at The Belfry were brilliant. Will definitely go back via YGT. One things I did notice, unlike other “Golf break” companies there was no hard sell or constant calls after making an enquiry. Got the quote and given time to send it round to the group to confirm dates, cost and location. Hats of to Freddie who dealt with my booking. Will use YGT for future bookings

Drinks & food were expensive (£26.50 for a 2 course buffet with fairly basic lukewarm food - eat less off A La Carte was a better option in our view - beer was mainly around £7:50/pint and double G&Ts were £12-15. On top of high prices the "believed new owners - from China?" are implementing a 10% Service Bill on every transaction everywhere. This includes when you go to the bar, order & collect your own drink. You also get charged this in the Halfway hut. The staff seem embarrassed by it and do advise that one can refuse to include it, but I am sure most people just accept it. We had a great waitress at one evening meal and removed the Service Bill and instead added it as a Gratuity (which we think she would solely get). Some staff thought the Service Bill is shared amongst all staff (but maybe with a handling fee), some said it has to go to staff under current laws, some were unsure. All in all it did not sit well with any in my party.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Belfry from the impressively stocked golf shop to Sam’s bar for a cool drink after our round to the central lively bar in the heart of the Hotel for a more relaxed time. All the staff were attentive and helpful and checking in was very accommodating with allowing us early access to our room checking and out was smooth. Lovely environment and feel about the place of which we plan to return ASAP.

✓12 Jun 2022
Lovely hotel, the only reason why ive given it 4 stars not 5 stars is there was only one dressing gown in our room and the smoke alarm was directly above the bed which flashed every 30 seconds or so keeping us awake!!! I understand the surroundings and the type of hotel we had booked in however £38 for a bottle of prosecco is a bit overpriced. The food was very nice and plenty of it.
Chris
✓8 Jun 2022
The hotel itself is very nicely appointed and the spa and pool are very good. The food we had both in the restaurant and Sams bar was of good value and plenty of it especially during the buffet. The breakfast in the morning was very good, when served was hot and of a good standard. The three issues our group had was lack of wi-fi availability and strength in Sam's bar which is the main golfers bar pre and post round. The other was the size of the standard twin room we all felt it was a little small in overall size especially when you have two sets of golf clubs in the room with associated battery chargers etc and the beds were a little too close together for comfort because of the size of the room. The check in for the rooms as it was a "stay and play" booking wasn't done at the main desk and I checked back through my emails and I couldn't see anything that gave me as the lead booker as indication as to where we complete this on arrival. It was actually adjacent to the pro shop ( a long way from reception I may add - 10 mins walk through the hotel) and there was only one person checking people in and out, and given there was a queue of 10 bookers like myself checking in up to 8 people at a time) this process took over 20 mins of queuing to complete which in my opinion is too long. Another thing as well as the room allocations i emailed to your company were not on the system on arrival so why ask for them before we arrive?)

Bed was very unconfutable and unfortunately on the second day I had serve back problems and only hit two shots on the PGA course. I returned to the pro shop and collected a buggy at a cost of £50.00 just so I could go round with the rest of the lads, Pro shop very expensive, Belfry ruck sack at £50.00, if the items were a little cheaper then more would be sold. I didn't buy one. Drinks expensive but overall brilliant few days away and would defiantly book again.

Arrived in plenty of time on the Sunday before tee time...pre-booked in at Pro-shop...for accommodation and each day's of golf...enjoyed a coffee and bacon roll good value. After golf went to room in Jacklin House.. twin room..all as expected good standard bed comfortable, tv,coffee and tea plenty of these with a bottle of water provided as well...bathroom had shower very clean therefore no issues, very pleased with the room. Restaurant was a bit disappointing in respect evening meal choice of food, picking a buffet, soup and salad were fine, but hot meal choice limited and had to wait for these to be refilled..however, drinks were a little more expensive compared to Sam's...but if going again may choose to go to Sam's bar and have a meal and drinks their instead of pre-booking an evening meal...but overall Restaurant value was good...but buffet food limited. However, the breakfast was very good..have no issues very good value and quality.

Checking in was easy. Staff very professional, efficient and courteous. We used Sams bar after our game and during the evening. Alcohol is a bit on the expensive side which is probably to be expected in a Hotel complex. We also had a meal there. The menu is a bit limited and again slightly overpriced as expected but the meal was very good. Staff in Sams. Bar were very nice although service a bit slow as it was busy. Only downside of our stay was that there was a dinner dance at the hotel whilst we were there and in some of the rooms you could hear the music which didn’t stop until 1 am. Checkout was easy.

The hotel itself had clearly been upgraded since the last time I was there. The room was very nice and comfortable although no AC which we didnt need in March. Issue I have with the hotel is the prices they charge for guests. £4.50 for a coffee is just crazy. £6+ for a pint of beer is again too expensive. This isnt Mayfair after all. Staff at reception were really welcoming. The staff at the golf shop were a little frosty when I had questioned why we hadnt been informed about the NO TROLLEY rule that day on The Brabazon - she simply stated we could get a voucher to return (unhelpful) or pay £5 to hire a carry bag! One of our party had a huge tour bag and a Stewart trolley and in the end had to go home after and not stay for his second round due to his back aching after carrying which he isnt supposed to do. The lack of empathy and sympathy was not good enough. We were there for 2 days so how is offeringa voucher acceptable? A simple email to me would have notified us about the restrictions and we could have accommodated that before travelling.

Service in the bars and restaurants is second to none. Rooms are a little basic and small, with our biggest gripe being that they were not cleaned (no fresh towels or anything) for 3 nights. Not what you expect in a 4 star hotel. Also some things are obscenely expensive as you expect from a resort

Didn't spend much time in the hotel room. Perfectly serviceable. Had a shower and a bed, didn't need much more. On a golf trip so ended up only eating in the sports bar. Food decent enough if just a touch on the expensive side. Be nice if chips came included with burgers etc or the portions were a touch bigger but guess what you'd expect from big corporate hotel. Later drank in the other bar and again drinks just a touch on the expensive side but probably what you expect. Staff very friendly and did take some money off our bill when something minor went wrong which was much appreciated.

The service in the bar and restaurant was very slow, approx 15 minute wait for drinks after paying. We had no maid service until the day we left, upon checkout there was no conversation from the receptionist if we enjoyed our stay etc, very poor for the money that we paid and spent that weekend, I would like this feedback to go to the hotel and for somebody to contact me please.

Extremely disappointed that our group of 8 who still spent a lot of money were not given 20 percent discount Extremely disappointed that our group Had to eat on the last night in Sam’s bar because neither yourselves or the belfry warned us to pre book restaurants Friday night we had to eat at 22:00 The disconnection between yourselves and the ignorance of the belfry is unbelievable really when you’ve spent £3000-£4000 and the age group is 50-60 who don’t want to travel and go round town especially in COVID times 2 of our group travelled home Saturday evening

Fantastic location and beautiful surroundings. Superb services in hotel, golf and restaurants. Our room was extremely hot with a window that does not open further than 6inches. Your golf travel makes the booking so simple, been with these guys for years now and never had a problem. The courses at the belfry were a bit boggy but it was November, and we had all that rain previously so no gripes there, all I can say is if you’re going to book a golfing holiday, these are the the guys and girls to use. 10/10

Overall we had a very enjoyable weekend. The staff are excellent both in the hotel and on the course. The food in the buffet restaurant was excellent, the breakfast was a little disappointing, mainly due to the restaurant being very busy. Our room was not the best for views (3 blank walls!) but generally was comfortable and clean. Would go again, but try to stay clear of the weekend.

When checked in to hotel we didn’t receive our room keys until after finish first round of golf what I understand after them been very busy. Apart from that everything was great.

The hotel itself was lovely and the staff extremely helpful however the room we were allocated was dark and most certainly not worth the money we paid for it. We also pre paid £34.95 for a three course evening meal on both nights and once again we could not fault the staff, especially June, a lovely lady who looked after us in the restaurant, the food was average and the main meal not good at all, we were extremely disappointed in the standard of food in the Ryder Grill. The golf courses were great and the men thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Spa was overcrowded by hen parties which did not make for a relaxing experience at all. Overall we enjoyed our weekend as a family but there were downsides. I normally do not like to complain but I felt some things needed to be said.

The ‘family room’ we got given was not as expected. On photos it gives the idea of having a living room with bedrooms coming off. When we go to our rooms we was greeted to find out that the living area shown on the photos was in-fact a communal living area shared between at least 7 rooms. The room was 2 single beds with a poor sofa bed, if I do return I will be requesting different rooms!

Fantastic. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier and helpful. Offered to oversee our clubs while we had a drink before round on day 1. We were allowed to check into the room 5 hours before check in time. Then arranged a taxi to a nearby curry house which they also booked. The rooms were clean and pleasant, no complaints. Sams bar was great for watching the football after the round on day 1 and reasonably priced. Upon return from the curry we went to Bel Air which was far busier than we expected. Unfortunately it wasn’t the younger crowd (20-25) we were hoping for and was mainly middle aged adults. It was still very fun with a large amount of cheesy and pop music. The main bar in the hotel had a great atmosphere for a late night whiskey or two. Breakfast was well presented and tasty for our 9:10 tee off time and check out was very efficient. Overall the hotel is well equipped for the golf clientele with lots to do in the evening in the many bars, restaurants and leisure facilities. We had a fantastic time and considering making it an annual trip.

For one night the rooms were adequate, although they seemed to be set up for one person. Only one glass, towel and shower gel. It was no problem getting them as we only had to ask and they arrived promptly. The open fire was a lovely welcome when we arrived from a chilly round of golf.
Richard
✓3 Dec 2018
the hotel room let the whole stay down as there was a smell in our room as we entered it, and we later found it to be the blocked drain once i took a shower which then caused the whole bathroom to be flooded. I Called the receptionist and informed them but no maintenance came to the room so it left my colleague without a shower after a round of golf in the rain which didn't make him happy. went straight down to the front desk and told her again and said that it will get sorted. we then went out for a curry off site and came back to the room still smelling and that the blockage had been resolved but the shower tray was left with all the black dirt/sludge etc and the toilet had the paper towel which they had made some sort of effort to clean it but hadn't flushed. with this then made me gag. this let the trip down.

✓30 Oct 2018
The hotel was great, the rooms were big and clean, very comfy and only a short walk to the gold club. The one thing that was disappointing was the prices in the golf bar. I paid £10 for a chicken wrap which I was expecting to be filled to the brim and filling itself but very disappointed. I would however recommend paying the extra £10 to include dinner if you go on a dinner B&B rate. It was an all you can eat buffet that was delicious! 100% recommend this rather than the golf bar.

The belfry is amazing, all you would expect for a golf complex of this nature, the Ryder Cup history is all around you and the booking in system looks to have improved since I was last there as the resident golfers can now book in at a desk at the back of the club shop next to Sam’s bar. Food and drink is expensive but you get what you pay for

We were put up in one of the out buildings which are designed for large groups of golfers. Room was very cold although heating did eventually come on in the morning. Room itself was a good size, had a good shower and plenty of cupboard space. As usual with these hotels drinks are way overpriced - £5 for a coffee!! Never thought a motorway service station coffee would seem cheap. Hotel has excellent facilities, plenty of parking and excellent staff.

We both loved being at The Belfry. The whole atmosphere of the hotel, the excellent facilities, our bedroom and most of all the magnificent golf courses made it a dream come true for us because we are such avid amateur enthusiasts of golf.
The layout of the two courses we played – The Derby and PGA National – were both so different, but so fantastic too...we couldn't fault either and even managed to play fairly well much to our surprise.
We loved the brilliant screens in the buggies too, giving us all the desired information regarding, yardage, warning us about where to place the ball, scoring etc. In fact anything we wished to remind ourselves about the course was there to view on the screens.
We found The Belfry so attractive and pleasant but also exciting.
Our accommodation was superb, the staff were so helpful in every way and the location of the whole complex so very easy to find, so well signposted for visitors.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel, facilities, golf courses; in fact the whole package which we got from Your Golf Travel. In fact we’ve already have done so to a number of our friends.
We can't thank YGT enough for all your help & speedy information. We can't wait to get back to you for a future golf holiday.

Had a wonderful time at the Belfry but with one reservation. The Brabazon course was great (as expected) - only lost one ball in the water (not as long as Seve!). The Derby was a disappointment - we were unfortunate to visit just as the greens were being hollow-cored (if we had known in advance we would have tried the PGA National instead). The building work going on did not disturb us but did mean that the pro-shop was decanted into a small space. The staff both in the hotel (reception and bars) and at/transporting to the first tees were helpful and friendly.

The course starter on the PGA national course was grumpy and didn't say anything other than "can I have your ticket". The rough on the PGA course was ridiculously high. It was actually above our knees, which caused slow play and made it less enjoyable. The hotel was ok but check in was painfully slow. The drinks prices were also ridiculous, more expensive than Gleneagles, Celtic manor and to all the golf resorts we have been to. The Brabazon was much better. I would play that course again but not stay.

Just a great golf course, playing part of history always gives you a buzz. The Brabazon is always in top condition, no matter what time of year you play. We played the PGA course the day before, and it was also a really fantastic course which again, will test your golf. Fairways on both courses are a must off the tee. This has been my 4th visit on the bounce and I look forward to it every year. I also must mention that YGT has everything spot on. Party of 36 went to the Belfry in 2012, we played the Brabazon and Derby courses. We had a fabulous time so booked to go back in 2013. This time we played the Brabazon and PGA courses and everyone agreed this was the best package. The recession appears to have kicked in because the free bag tag given out first time round was no longer available, there were less staff to organise and the quality of the food was not as good. Booked Celtic manner the following year and I would recommend that before the Belfry.

Played the Brabazon course- poor condition of the bunkers, with large stones in several of them. One of us damaged his sand wedge playing out of a bunker. Also slow play, with the guide times not being adhered to by the group in front of us. We were approximately 25 minutes outside the guide time after 9 holes. I brought this to the attention of the course marshal at the 10th hole, who took no action. The above split the day that we had looked forward to.

Hotel and facilities were fantastic and the courses were in great condition. Although the courses were also challenging, they were not too difficult for a 19 handicapper to enjoy. Standing on the first tee the feeling of 'this is it' hit me! All the modern Ryder Cup greats have hit that shot- Seve, Watson, Faldo, Woods and now me. The blood was really pumping as I tried (in vain) to drive the 10th. However, the scrambling par got me a '4 for 3' The new(ish) par 3 12th is a beautiful hole with nothing but water to admire. When we finally arrived at 18 (the 18th, some would say), my partners tell me they've never seen me so intense on a drive (I really wanted a 4). Anyhow, my missed four footer condemned me to a bogey and it was off to Sam's Bar for beers and endless chats of what might have been.

The derby is a bit boring compared to the PGA but it is still a good warm up for the Brabazon. The Brabazon is tough, long and you are punished for missing fairways or greens with plenty of water and long thick grass. The renovations to the bar area are great and the accommodation is fair but not great. An evening meal and breakfast was included on previous trips but on this trip the evening meal was gone and the bar prices were too high which was a shame. I always enjoy the trip though.

My son and I played both the PGA and Derby courses over 2 days. Initially, we had an hour at the driving range- the auto ball feeders are brilliant. On both courses we were able to stay as a 2 ball, however it was very busy, bad queue at the Derby tee off, and constantly being closely pursued by the following playing group. Both courses and greens are very good. Golf shop and staff/reception staff were very good and welcoming, and the allocated bedrooms are excellent.
The Belfry restaurant is quite expensive and Sams Club house appeared to be a better option. However, it was under staffed with disgruntle personnel. The food when it appeared, was nothing special. I played the back nine to par and played a four iron from Christy O'Connor's marker to four feet from the pin on 18th. If you like food, you'll love the food here. Some brilliant rooms and the staff can't do enough for you. Tip: use your handicap, practice your putting before you play and don't use your driver.

PGA-hole 3 was favourite.
Brabazon- all greens of superior speed and quality. It gave our group of 16 an insight into the type of greens that the pros face week in week out. They beat us up. Our best score was 30 pts stableford for our group of touring Kings Lynn golfers. Glutton for punishment. Can't wait to return to be beaten up again. No weak holes but some are a welcome relief. The obvious gems are the 9th and the 18th.
For anyone playing for the first time there are potential water hazards all over, so bring plenty of balls. Don't travel far to play the Derby. Hotel was excellent.

The course was fine, although the fairways were not of the standard I was expecting. My main concerns relate to the hotel and service. We were unable to have dinner as it was fully booked (you did warn us) and frankly I felt the whole ambiance of the place was lacking 'soul'. In addition there was nothing else to do at the venue such as pool, table tennis, etc.

Very much enjoyed our trip to the Belfry. The two night bed and breakfast break in the hotel, with a round of golf on each of the three courses was ideal and great value for money. Particularly enjoyed the PGA National which is a great course and less tough than the famous Brabazon. All courses were good tests of golf and in excellent condition. Staff at the club and in the hotel were very helpful and courteous. Rooms in the hotel were very clean and comfortable. The drive down from Scotland was straightforward, fairly quick via the Toll Road, and the resort easy to find. Would definitely recommend the Belfry for a golf break and hope to return soon. Have been there three times and despite it being summer, is has rained or snowed (yes, snowed on!!!) on each time. Hotel is OK though it has since been refurbished. The food is fresh, plentiful and with good variety. Bar prices are high but not London levels. The changing facilities were small but well appointed.
I don't rate the Derby Course - unimaginative and no better than many a municipal. PGA is as at least as good as the much vaunted Brabazon. My party thought the Brabazon is a bit over-hyped and a bit of a slog. Perhaps getting soaked coloured our perceptions! We did in fact get snowed off in July and got vouchers to return and play again. The shop staff were somewhat dour.

The problem with The Belfry for me is the impersonal nature of the hotel complex. It is far too big and busy for a quiet golfing weekend. I hate to say this (and I am not naturally snobbish) but there were a large number of rather oikish people staying at the hotel on this occasion. There were also some rather badly behaved golfers on the course. An example: being practically knocked for six when walking through some swing doors by a rough type who didn't even apologise, then holding open a door for a guy carrying a tray of drinks who didn't even look at me let alone thank me. On the course we were pressured from behind in a rude way when there was a group in front of us within range. So don't go there unless you can avoid these types. I would love to play The Brabazon again on a quiet day with no pressure.

The Belfry was £99 for a B&B and 2 rounds of golf. Lunch and dinner with drinks added was £85 for 2 people. The biggest pro shop with the latest gear was impressive & we were served efficiently and politely.
The Derby, the easiest of the 3 courses was flattering to my game. The back nine are more interesting than the front and the course is good for all abilities. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in ok condition. The PGA national: great condition, challenging and had character with water/ditches and some lovely vistas of great English countryside. No pin positions on either courses.
Pull trolleys were expensive at £7.50. The range was excellent with automatic ball tees, great large mirrors and £5.50 for 50 balls which was ok. We ate in Sam's clubhouse which was reasonable for food (pizza £10), but pricey for drinks. A large Cappucinno was £4.95 and a pint was about the same. Staff were very helpful.

The hotel was undergoing extensive refurbishment at the time which we were not told about. This time we played the Brabazon and the Derby. It was a better package when it was the Brabazon and the PGA. Dinner seems to have been removed from the packages which is a shame because the process remained the same. Nevertheless, great fun playing the Brabazon and recalling the Ryder Cups. The 10th hole is iconic but my favourite hole is the last where you have to decide how much corner to cut off the tee and then over another daunting lake to fly onto a 3 tier green. If in doubt play safe off the tee and lay up with your second. We played a 4BBB on both days which is a fun way to play the courses, especially the Brabazon.

The Brabazon is a fantastic course, and certainly met expectations. On day two, we played the PGA National. It absolutely poured with rain, and there were high winds, and it was absolutely no fun whatsoever! I doubt I broke 150. My advice- if it rains, go to the bar. I remember the tees were at the back and looking at a 180 yard par 3 over water, thinking I may as well just throw this ball into the water. The 12th was a real low. Straight into the gale, it was around 550. It should have been a par 8. We all took at least 6 to reach the green. The hotel wasn't in great condition, however I believe it has been renovated recently. Overall, I'd recommend.

Obviously 10 and 18 stand out in the memory on The Brabazon even if you have only ever watched them from the Ryder Cup. The quality of the greens and bunkers are immaculate, not to mention feeling guilty whenever you take divots from the fairway. Played it 3 times now and can't wait to go back again, especially now they have refurbished the hotel it's even easier to talk the wife into going!

The Brabazon should be on your list of courses to play. It is hard but really worth the effort to get round it. As an old member said as we came off the 18th of the derby course the day before, 'take plenty of balls and you'll really enjoy it'. In the end I was 3 balls down but having birdied to 10th I will be back again some day soon. The food is excellent, and the accommodation was certainly better than most. There has been construction works during my 2 trips to the belfry but at no point did it affect our stay or play.

Do not be overawed. Treat the course with respect. Do not complicate your playing of the course, keep it simple. Down the middle and center of the green will get you round. Play within your ability. The hotel was fine, breakfast was very good, with very helpful staff. Preferred to drink and eat in the Sports Bar next to the Pro shop. I found the benefit of using a Buggy on the Brabazon, outweighed what I considered to be the expensive cost.

The Brabazon does have an ambiance of its own with memories of past Ryder Cup matches. However, if you are not as old as me I don't think you would feel the same way. Hotel was terrific. I would recommend arranging dinner before you go. We played in a shotgun start on the Brabazon on the second day and teed off the 18th at 7.45am having had a late night, which was slightly daunting! Great fun playing all the holes that we are so familiar with from the Ryder Cups in the 80's and early 90's. One negative was the sat-nav yardage on the buggy wasn't working properly, and no discount was offered when I pointed it out at the end of the round. Very enjoyable and a great trip for a group.

My favourite hole is the 4th on the PGA National Course. Although, the Brabazon is my favourite course on the complex. The advise I would give anyone playing for the first time, is to play your normal game, take your time and don't try anything too spectacular. It is very easy with the reputation of the course to let it get the better of you, as I did my first time. The whole complex/hotel and staff are amazingly very friendly and helpful considering the amount of people they have to deal will. The complex is very popular because it caters for your every need. With it's bars and night club, there is no need to leave the complex once your there.

Having stayed at The Belfry on an overnight golf and spa break for my 50th birthday, we were made very welcome throughout our stay. We were greeted at the door by a lovely, very polite gentleman and checked in only to find that they had upgraded us to a signature room as it was my birthday; a very nice touch!
The room was very clean, spacious and the facilities were excellent. We used room service too which was excellent. Sam's Bar is amazing and very welcoming too. We ate at the buffet with friends and were well looked after. The food was delicious with plenty of choice and excellent value for money too.
The Derby Course was great to play, with the course well looked after. The golf shop is the best I have seen and the choice is exquisite.
We could not fault our stay and even indulged in a fire and ice treatment which was excellent. Thank you very much for the help in organising our golf break.

We all had a really good time at The Belfry and were incredibly lucky with the weather; it didn't rain on either day, which was excellent.
The PGA National was a challenging course; very open and very links-like. It was in good condition, although the greens had just been hollow-tined so were a little inconsistent. I’d say it’s a good course for golfers of all abilities, with little prohibitive water or length.
The Brabazon course was fantastic, with some truly awesome holes, in particular the 10th and 18th of course. The greens were in excellent condition, with a lovely roll and pace and I couldn't fault it at all. I would say that it is a much more challenging course, and golfers playing off 18+ may have a hard time with it.
After the golf we all got stuck in at the club house where the service was good and there were plenty of screens showing the rugby and football throughout the evening. The beer was cold and tasty and there was a good mix of bitter and lager. The prices were reasonable (compared to London).
In the evening we ate at the Ryder Grill, which was lovely. The food was excellent and the service was attentive. The wine list was great too, with good options at all price levels.
After dinner we hit the cocktail bar, which is a cool lounge style bar, and had some cocktails, which were great. Again the service was faultless and the prices reasonable.
Bel-Air nightclub exceeded expectations too! It was not just full of middle-aged golfers as we'd expected, which was nice. It’s actually a good club and again the bar was decent and the music was great.
None of our party had any trouble finding the Belfry, as it is well signposted and not far off the motorway.
The service from Hannah at Your Golf Travel was timely and efficient, I would certainly recommend them to a friend and use them again in future.

We have just arrived back from our trip to The Belfry and I have to say the 16 of us had a great couple of days.
The Brabazon was fantastic and the enjoyment was written on the faces of us all when we had walked off the 18th green. To stand on that 10th tee box and see where Seve had hit that famous tee shot from and hit the green was awesome. Needless to say we loved the experience and would recommend it to anyone who loves golf.
We thought the hotel was very good too. We used Sam’s Bar in the evening and were looked after very well by the staff, who were very attentive and sociable. They couldn't do enough for us and the food was excellent, even though the prices are not what we are used to paying. No one complained though. After all, we were away for a couple of days to enjoy ourselves and every one of our party totally 100% enjoyed the break.
When I first decided to book the trip I scanned the internet
looking for a good deal and decided to use Yourgolftravel and I’m glad I did because
you made the whole booking process so easy and your help throughout was
invaluable.

A brilliant two days! The golf courses were in good condition. It was a bit windy on the second day but everyone wanted to play the course again and we think it was well suited our range of handicaps which went from 8 – 24.
The staff throughout the resort were very friendly and helpful, the hotel rooms and restaurant were faultless and definitely of a 5 star standard. Bar prices, as we expected, were a little steep but to be honest, after a day’s golf, once you had eaten, you just need your bed!
We’d suggest a 10 out of 10 rating for The Belfry and definitely a 10 out 10 rating for YGT.

Anticipation was high for the playing of the 'Durran Bowl' (a competition considered as a 5th Major among the 3 of us vying for glory) at The Belfry.
Upon arrival at the entrance and driving down a well signposted route to the golf centre, you are immediately struck by the size of the resort and that you have arrived at a serious golf facility and a 4 time Ryder Cup host.
I had hardly got out of the car before I was greeted by a member of staff welcoming me and immediately pointing out where I needed to go and a general overview. Upon walking through an extensive pro shop with an array of attire and equipment to please any golf addict, I exited through the other side and entered a very nicely appointed bar and restaurant facility with wonderful views over the PGA National’s 1st tee and 18th green.
We decided to have an arrival pint in the bar area in order to discuss checking in for our 1 night stay, confirming our tee off time, arranging buggys and generally settling in.
The hotel and rooms are very well appointed, reflecting I imagine a full refurbishment of the facility. A warm feel pervades through the resort and the very efficient, friendly members of staff certainly didn't go unnoticed among my group.
We played the PGA National which is a challenging
golf course and our only disappointment was the greens which
weren’t in the best shape. The following day we played the Derby
Course which is a delightful course. Well laid out and interesting throughout
with greens that were far better than those on the PGA. The Brabazon
Course looked amazing but will have to wait until another day. We will be back!
