Hotel, Food, Drink & Golf
The Sofitel Marrakech Lounge & Spa still is a magnificent Moorish palace that maintains its traditional regional character while offering all the furnishings and amenities of a top-end hotel. The Sofitel is perfectly situated for exploring the city while affording views to the snow-covered peaks of the Atlas Mountains.
Mazagan Beach Resort, situated 60 miles south of Casablanca on the Atlantic coast, is perfect for those seeking luxury by the seaside. The hotel is a sight to behold, bordered by an amazing swimming pool and palm trees and overlooking the ocean and golf course.
The rooms at the Tikida Golf Palace in Agadir are particularly lavish and guests have easy access to the hotel’s own private beach as well as the three distinct courses at Golf du Soleil.
Golfers of all abilities can enjoy the course at Mazagan Beach, which is designed by nine-time major winner Gary Player. The immaculately conditioned course is challenging enough for good players while still being forgiving enough off the tee for the higher handicappers.
Away from the course, there’s loads of choice for eating (the resort boasts eight restaurants!) plus an on-site nightclub and casino. Pickalbatros Hotel Du Golf is another good quality 4* resort with an on-site course, plus it’s only 15 minutes from central Marrakech.
If you fancy making the most of an all-inclusive package, then the Riu Palace Tikida is a terrific option, particularly with three golf courses to experience.
Ksar Anika Riad is a beautifully decorated hotel that offers guests supremely peaceful surroundings while being situated close to the souk and other local attractions. Terrific value for a traditional Moroccan stay.
Sofitel Essouira Mogador Golf & Spa is home to a brilliant Gary Player-designed course that is never too busy, so a great course for beginner partners. Located just south of the town itself, you can also explore the ancient city on a day off. Riu Palace Tikida represents the best value in Agadir - which is probably the most expensive Moroccan resort - with all-inclusive packages to enjoy from its beachfront location.
One of the real drawcards for golf tourists visiting Morocco is the fact there is so much to take in away from the course. There are few more pleasurable ways to spend time in Marrakech than wandering around the seemingly endless maze of markets in the Medina, with its souks and snake charmers.
Essaouira, located about a 90 minute drive west of Marrakech, is a vibrant seaside town that has been occupied since prehistoric times. There is plenty of history worth checking out in the town, not to mention the popular leisure activities of wind and kite surfing if you’re up for it. The Sofitel Essouira makes a great base to take it all in.
Morocco is great for All Inclusive golf holidays, Marrakech is the focus, courtesy of having the greatest concentration of courses, but it’s by no means your only option.

Rory plays golf at Assoufid in Marrakech, Morocco. Teeing off from the 10th Hole, Rory talks about the difference between “Championship Golf” playing from the back tees, and “Resort Golf” playing from tees more suited to your handicap.
After 26 holes over 2 courses the previous day in Marrakech, Rory was a combined 3 over par, with 23 pars on the card. Can he keep up his form on what, in theory, should be a much more demanding golf course?
