Founded in 1897, Barton-on-Sea is among the best established golf clubs on the South coast, and is a high quality addition to any player visiting the Bournemouth area.

Barton-on-sea Golf Course

Today, the current 27 holes are a combination of the original Harry Colt 18-hole layout from 1932 and the more modern 9-hole addition, in 1992, made by the renowned golf course architect J. Hamilton Stutt, who was a founding member of the Association of British Golf Course Architects.

Each of the 27-holes offers a great challenge for golfers of all handicaps with the added advantage of being able to boast a selection of three different 18-hole combinations with unrivaled views of the coast on each hole. The three loops of nine at Barton-on-Sea are named the Becton, Needles and Stroller respectively.

Barton-on-Sea is also able to boast a superb clubhouse, nestled next to the lake and an island green (one of the highlights of the course), which offers commanding views across the Solent to the Needles on the Isle of Wight, along to Old Harry Rocks at Swanage. It provides something for everyone - whether you are looking for a delicious lunch in the luxurious 120 cover dining room or just a relaxing drink on the balcony - the clubhouse at Barton-on-Sea is sure to impress any golfer on a tour of the Bournemouth area.
