Since opening in 1991, the Blue Canyon Country Club has been a fixture in every list of Asia's top golfing destinations, with two phenomenal championship golf courses that have been carved gently from the old rubber plantations and the abandoned tin mine that once characterised this beautiful Andaman Sea island.

Golf Courses at Blue Canyon Country Club

Canyon Course

Set against the backdrop of the majestic Phang Nga mountains, the Canyon Course is ranked as Thailand's number one, and rightly so. The club's owner, Yoshikazu Kato, was eager to utilise the natural character of the terrain, instead of imposing a man-made creation; as such, the Canyon is carved around the woodland, gorges and ravines that are native to the land.

The accolades were quick to come for the Blue Canyon's first course; the course has played host to the world's best for the Johnnie Walker Classic, including the 1994 event when a fresh faced Tiger Woods was the leading amateur, placing 34th. The remarkable layout is challenging, beautiful and enjoyable, and should be an integral part of your golf holiday in Phuket.

Lakes Course

Not to be outdone, the Lakes Course at Blue Canyon is a charming and demanding championship track. Opened in 1999, the club's second layout is best known for its enormous putting surfaces, whose Tildwharf Bermuda grass results in lightning quick greens.

Kato's commitment to retaining the integrity of the natural land results in water affecting no less than 17 holes, around what is the perfect complement to the awe-inspiring Canyon Course.

Another round spoilt by speedy caddies and got stuck behind another five ball - why do they allow these ?? The caddies don’t seem to have much etiquette and drive off while my wife was about to tee off or play her shots - always seem to be in a rush to finish the round so they can get off home

Lovely course. Be prepared for individual caddies that drive the buggies. Conversation is limited due to language problems.
