Cabot Bordeaux Resort is one of the most renowned golf destinations in France, boasting two internationally acclaimed championship courses, the Chateaux and the Vignes, laid out over the famous Médoc terrain in the stunning wine region around Bordeaux.
Combined with the luxury 4* hotel, there are few finer resorts for a golf break. Only half an hour from the centre of Bordeaux, Medoc is in an excellent location for visiting golfers, only a short drive from the coast. Although both courses are worthy of a round their own right, the Chateaux is the true masterpiece.
A French Open host course, it is now ranked in the top 10 in France and top 30 in Europe.
With the purchase by famed golf resort group, Cabot, in 2024, golf within this region of France is set to welcome many new and past golfers to experience this excellent golf resort.

The Chateaux Course is a demanding par-71 stretch, which, when played from the championship markers, reaches 6,907 yards. American designer Bill Coore took much of his influence from the UK and Ireland's links courses, and as such the fairways at the Chateaux are lined with gorse, heather and broom. The stunning course is often affected by the stern Atlantic breezes, making it a formidable proposition, but one that will certainly be enjoyable.
The Chateaux was voted Best Course in France in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 by the World Golf Awards. In addition the site has been ranked 8th Best Golf Resort in Europe.
The Chateaux Course at Medoc is ranked as one of the best courses in France
The 6,802 yard Vignes is Cabot Bordeaux's second course, but it is certainly not inferior. Designed by Canadian Rod Whitman, the Vignes is distinctly different in character than the Chateaux, as it carves through the towering pines, with more of a parkland accent. The par-5s are particularly challenging, and Whitman's most notable legacy is his strategic placement of telling bunkers, which will only be safely negotiated by the most prudent player.
If you're game's not up to scratch, the golf complex has a range with 16 covered bays and up to 40 uncovered grass bays that are the perfect place to pound some balls.
In 2007, a 4-star 'MGallery by Sofitel' Hotel & Spa was added to the two Championship courses. The Hotel is a luxury destination, providing extremely comfortable accommodation, set in a relaxed and un-fussy environment.
Natural tones and simple elegance are the predominant influences on the hotel's style, where you will find 79 spacious bedrooms. Every guest room benefits from satellite television, en-suite bathroom, safe deposit box, internet access and the best modern facilities.
High class amenities at the hotel are perfectly complemented by the excellent service and attention that all guests will receive, and with the opportunity to experience the fascinating wine-producing region around Bordeaux, it is no surprise the Golf du Médoc Hotel and Spa has in its short existence already become one of the most popular golf holiday resorts in France.
The 4-star hotel has its own indoor swimming pool, but the most attractive feature is undoubtedly the spa complex. In addition to the sauna and steam rooms, you can treat yourself to a massage or reflexology treatment, while there are specially designed therapies tailored for both men and women.
Le Table du Médoc is the hotel's culinary highlight; the elegant dining room has a refined menu that is supported by the finest vintages from the Médoc region.
With views over both courses, the Clubhouse is the place for a relaxed meal or a well-earned drink, while the Salon Bar Bibliothèque is a great meeting point at the hotel.

Well designed Hotel Beautifully presented Excellent staff.Very helpful.Food and choice of food good,BUT dogs allowed in the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast. Not Acceptable. One diner left her dog at the table whist she wandered off to select her choice from the excellent buffet breakfast. Needless to say the dog started sniffing around our table for food The course was in great shape. The greens quite tricky. Wide fairways, quite forgiving. Buggies a bit expensive at 40 Euros

Great hotel. Excellent facilities. Varied buffet breafast and tasty lunch and dinner. Very helpful staff. Somewhat isolated and taxis required to go anywhere, but not unexpected when between two golf courses and the overall experience more than outweighed any inconvenience.

Easier than the Chateaux course but still challenging enough. Some quite short par 3 holes but still difficult as the greens are undulating.

Certainly a championship level course with water on several holes making it challenging. It is also deceptively long and tight in many places but excellent quality overall.
