While the identity of the original course designer is something of a mystery, there is no doubting the legacy of the revision by Harry S. Colt, the British golfer responsible for some of the finest in the United Kingdom; Colt's astute eye is seen in the excellent bunkering, which is the ideal complement to the tight fringes created by the parasol pine trees.
A unique feature of a round of golf here is found between the 2nd and 3rd holes and 12th and 13th holes where you'll drive your buggy onto a small ferry to cross between the green and your next tee shot.
Despite being just moments from the beach and some of the most incredible properties in the French Riviera the course's mature umbrella pines mask this from view with a degree of privacy that'd you can only associate with a golf course so rich in history as Old Golf Course Cannes-Mandelieu can offer.
The golf course at Cannes-Mandelieu also offers a modern history with Ryder Cup and European Tour star Victor Dubuisson learning his golf here before going onto become one of the best golfers France has produced.
