Galway's Only True Links....situated along the Wild Atlantic Way lies Connemara Championship Golf Links. Designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett, this is one of the most natural and true links courses in the world.

The fairways and greens are beautifully carved through the rocky rugged hills and dunes. The A&B Championship Course is 7055 yards off the Blue tees and a slightly less daunting 6739 yards off the White tees. With a predominate westerly wind sweeping in off the Atlantic Ocean it is a challenge to all.

The most unique aspect of this course is the landscape, Eddie did an amazing job of weaving the course around the scattered rocky land, add in the ocean views and you will begin to understand why Connemara is considered one of the most scenic courses in the world. The finishing holes in Connemara are truly spectacular, Tom Watson played here in 2000 and stated the back 9 were the best he had played in Ireland.

Although it is remote, the scenery along the way is beautiful, the welcome and tranquillity once there will empower your soul. It's well worth the pilgrimage to the rugged shores of County Galway.

We practically had the course of ourselves. It was raining sideways and the wind was howling. However, we wanted an Irish Golfing Experience and Connamara did not disappoint. Due to the extreme weather conditions, we played only 9 holes. We experienced the Wild Atlantic Way up close and personal. Once again we were not prepared for the vast distances we had to drive to get to this course. Staying in Loughrea really increased our driving time.
