Coulsdon Manor Hotel & Golf Club

Stayed in a twin toom. Really comfy bed. Tea and coffee available and television. Basic bathroom but we were there on a golf break so out most of the time. Stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast break plus 2 rounds of golf. Breakfast was great and plentiful. The dinner menu was very limited.

A great venue with a lovely course . The hotel whilst a little bit dated is great , clean and comfortable. The staff are always very friendly and helpful . Dinner was well organised for our group and was hot and tasty . Nice outside space for relaxing after golf

Hotel is showing signs of ageing. Food very expensive for what you get.

Our twin room served it’s purpose but I would have been very disappointed had I booked it for any purpose other than a golfing one. Very tired and uncared feel around the whole building. The 3-course evening meal was even beyond complaining about. 2 party-sized veggie samosas for starters filled by cod loin with vegetables ( barely enough fish to cover a tablespoon- not kidding either!) and a tangerine cheesecake which must have cost pennies to produce….. having said that, the breakfast was worthwhile and service was with a smile.

Was a very warm welcome from as soon as we arrived in the morning. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and got everything sorted for us. Rooms were clean & comfy. Food was great too. Will definitely return.

Traditional old manor hotel that might need the rooms to be modernized at some time. But all necessary facilities worked, although plumbing and electrics need priority improvement. Enjoyed the stay and can recommend for a budget golf weekend

The Management at Coulsdon are in the process of updating the hotel and golf course. In that knowledge we had a comfortable stay and enjoyed playing the course

Th hotel itself as many have mentioned previously is a little tired , but with a great location and really friendly staff more than makes up for it .Food was really nice and served up in a friendly and timely manner . Only adverse comments we had were the anaemic looking sausages at breakfast . Great place to stay and easy to get to .

the hotel its self is a little tired & dated. only 2 plugs worked in our room but they were clean & tidy. taps were so stiff we had trouble getting them to work.

Rooms very hot no air conditioning had the use of a fan to aid sleeping.Evening meal had very limited menu, but what was on it was very nice.Breakfast time food was a little dried up, eggs all hard so I asked for poached eggs which were provided without any problem

Adequate hotel a bit tired last here in 2019 would think twice about going back but mainly because of the golf course

Great value for money. Location was lovely and all the staff really helpful. Food was nice. Breakfast buffy with all that you needed and nice choice for evening meal.

All my friends enjoyed there stay great value for the money.

Much the same as the course, all looking very tired and in need of investment. No complaints with food and staff, all reasonable for price paid and rooms clean and comfortable.

Staff, rooms & breakfast all great, but one comment on the evening meal was "food OK but if in a restaurant it would not be"

Tired hotel No aircon, showers are poor , some lights didn’t work in the room , Breakfast terrible breakfast. Everything needed replenishing. No milk, no apple juice , no orange juice, no yoghurts, no bacon , sausages, beans, bread, butter, sugar. Had to complain to 3 people and finally spoke to manager when things then took shape but people weren’t happy. I would expect better service on a Saturday morning at breakfast. Course was In good condition and really enjoyed this.

Everything about the hotel is dated and tired.

Generally the hotel is okay but 'tired' in some places. New management is however actively addressing shortfalls with a modernisation and renovation programme. We did have some plumbing problems with the first room which was allocated to us but the staff quickly gave us an alternative room which was fine.

We had a very pleasant stay, yes the hotel could do with a bit of a refurb but it was comfortable and cosy, staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms very nice, clean and you did have everything you might need for a nice stay.

Great staff in hotel, golf shop have great team, so helpful. Course good and rooms great.

Cannot fault anything about Coulsdon Manor from reception to food and service and above all we all felt safe with the covid conditions that were in place a wonderful experience

Not 5 star accommodation, but great value for money for the price paid. Great service, particular shout out to Amy for tolerating Stauntsy.

The staff and food was excellent

Nice accommodation although we moved rooms due to the noise from a new fan which had been installed in the kitchen area. Food was excellent but the restaurant and bar are in one area so nowhere to relax after your meal.

I have been bringing a group of between 18 & 25 people to Coulsdon every year for 8 years. Although we love & always have a great trip over the period the facility has declined. The food portion sizes & variety decline every year despite our trip costing almost 20% more than it did 8 years ago. Plus the bar, restaurant etc need a damn good clean or lick of paint. Staff are fantastic, always have been.

Had to explain resturant staff,every day, that dinner was included and prepaid. A bit tiresom.

The hotel made a slight mistake by mislaying our rooming arrangements but they sorted it out in our favour and the whole staff from reception to waiting tables was very good.Only one thing was disappointing was lack of choices both in spirits and beer but it did not upset what was a wonderful stay

Rooms are clean and tidy and very adequate when you spend most of your time playing golf and ‘in the bar’

Comfortable basic rooms with decent beds ,bathrooms,and furniture.shower was very good cannot fault it although the hotel could do with an update before it gets too bad but I would still look forward to staying there again as would the people that were with me thank you

It needs to be brought into the 21st century. Tired and tatty decor. No proper dining room. Ate dinner one evening in a makeshift function room. Very poor, really. Food ok and room comfortable.

Great course. Good combination of long and short holes. Greens in great condition

Bitterly disappointed about the state of the golf course. I was told no course maint would be done but when we arrived we found out after asking the head pro that the greens had been verty drained the week before. The tees were disgraceful and the bunkers were appalling. Your team are clearly not visiting the courses beforehand to assess whether they should be on your books. I would like to speak to an agent regarding my stay as this it the second trip now that we have been disappointed with. I will also be reconsidering going elsewhere to book in the future. DT

This is our 3rd trip to this venue. Course looked a little worn , Im sure this was as a result of the weather the UK had over the summer . The tee's could be improved but overall its a great venue for a golfing break. The course suits all handicaps with some great holes . All our group enjoy the course .

Love this course becoming here for years

On day1 our round took us almost 5 hours and on day2 about 3&3/4 hours. Tee boxes were 2/10, fairways 7/10 and greens were full of spike holes which made putting very unpredictable-2/10. The course itself had some enjoyable and challenging holes. Would like to give it another go one day

Very well kept and lovely to play on

fairways and greens suffered from rain over the previous weeks. No buggies on the Saturday and very muddy, cleaning facility also defect but friendly pro shop and still enjoyed the golf. For the price can't grumble

Enjoyed the round

Course set out was perfect. Not too long for the higher handicappers but enough going on for our mid handicappers. Only downfalls on the course were the tee box’s and the greens. Tee boxes were long, ruined and all sloped or lumpy. Greens could have done with a little more care. Expected better for a manor course.

Despite problems with booking, buggy not reserved as instructed, also confusion that the actual booked tee times were not confirmed at the pro-shop we managed to rescue the weekend

As already mentioned, knowing how much work has been done and still needs to be done we were happy playing the course

A really lovely course that suited the golfing abilities of our society (hcaps 15 -28). Nice flat track with great greens and a nice mix of hole layouts . Only comment was that the Tee boxes were a bit rough but hey ho it didnt spoil our enjoyment . Friendly welcome from pro shop was appreciated .

tee boxes were very tatty & the bunkers were full of stones & flint & harsh sand.

Tee boxes were not very good it was very difficult to differentiate between tees boxes and main course sometimes. Lack of litter bins on course so by others bottles etc just left on ground, which I found annoying from previous players. Just take your rubbish back to clubhouse where there are bins like we did

Firstly I was promised a complimentary buggy didn't happen .fortunately I had booked buggies through golf club gets to course no buggies over subscribed eventually got buggy so first day not so good.

We are newbies, but we thought the course could have been better. The Fairways all need some TLC and the greens were bumpy and not well kept. The staff were lovely and helpful but we would not play here again

First day moved along at good rate. Second day had a five ball ladies in front of us who held the course up for five, four balls. Need to marshal the course.

Lovely old parkland course but the emphasis here is on the 'old'. Sadly very tired and neglected, tee boxes in awful condition with grass longer than my longest tee pegs! Greens scalped in places where the blades had clearly gone too low. Such a shame as could be so much better but guessing finances constrained.

Tee boxes could be better. Some bunkers that need repairing have been left too long would make the course a lot better fairway grass a little high But overall not a bad course We enjoyed it

Short and not too tough but enjoyed both rounds.

Is a good society course wide fairways, no water or out of bounds problems. Not the best time of the year, fairways grass to long.

Enjoyable, strange that they had a hit that served food and drinks but only for members. Why? Do they not want to make money for public ? Members being members and a few old guard unnecessarily making comments like they own the course. I’m a member myself and would make comments like that.

Bunkers full of weeds, poor condition generally. General feel of a failing resort. Only £24 green fee. Goodness knows what I was charged by you guys to play here, very poor value.

Like the hotel the course is being upgraded with work on bunkers starting soon. As a result, understandably, the bunkers weren't being tended when we visited, so there was grass growing in them. The rest of the course was in good condition though, a credit to the two greens staff looking after such a large course.

Felt the course was in good order considering, obviously the staffing level was less and it showed with the bunkers which were awful, plants and grass growing in most of them. However there are plenty of good interesting holes and the greens excellent condition all bit t a little long for my liking. It’s a hotel course and our party found that the going on the second day very slow with a 3 ball holding up the course so would be nice to have a Marshall but guess that costs money. All in all l like the course and will definitely be playing it again

Enjoyed every minute even though it rained all day on the second day the course held out really well

Again, great value for money. Not the Belfry but for what we paid it was a nice, varied course, which is pretty and well kept. Greens were a little slow but we were playing at the end of Oct and there had been a lot of rain. All in all, a very positive experience.

Really disappointed with your golf travel. Winter maintenance had been carried out on the greens and they were really unplayable. The hotel had informed your golf travel because they showed me the emails they had sent. I called your golf travel the day asking for someone to contact me - no reply. It seem your golf travel are happy to take your money but not happy to inform you of problems. Don’t get me wrong all courses have to undergo maintenance but if we had known we would have booked somewhere else

The course was in good condition pity your golf travel never in formed me that the front 9 would be closed on the Monday very disappointing

A lovely course in good condition. The play was a bit slow due to large society group bookings.

Good course - quite open and challenging greens. Basic practice area. Could have done with somewhere to buy a coffee / beer 1/2 way round

Fine and easy course, good value for money.

The course was in good order easy to find your way around from green to next tee and we were able to play to a good standard

The course was in good condition. The rooms were fine. Unfortunately the club house facilities were poor> They had very little beer choice, no change, no ice. In fact we did not have the evening meal.We went for a curry and a drink up the road. I feel if the bar facilities were up to scratch we would have spent more money at the club house. They seriously need to get to grips with their bar, staff motivation and customer care seemed very poor. Regards John

Go too far off the fairway and the rough is very punishing , keep it straight and the course is very enjoyable and ‘beatable’ Bunkers need improvement but greens are very good test, some with undulation that needs careful consideration!

Brilliant on day one but sadly the weather beat us on day two ,the rain was just too heavy to enjoy it so sadly gave up after nine holes but it hasn't put us off from going again in the future thank you
