The par-72 Championship Course has hosted the West Region PGA Championships on no less than six occasions. The 7,200 yard layout is set up to provide a stern test for even the most skilled players, with strategically positioned tees making for difficult driving. 12 water hazards are integrated into the course to guard the undulating greens and fairways.
The par-66 Dartmouth Course is a more relaxing and manageable test than its neighbour, but is built and maintained to equally high standards. With water threatening on a number of occasions, the Dartmouth is no walk in the park, but is great for larger groups as it is suitable for all golfers.
Dartmouth's Head Greenkeeper was selected to represent England and Ireland in the finals of the ‘Toro' Award for Excellence in Greenkeeping, explaining why the greens at Dartmouth are so excellent.
The excellent three-star hotel at Dartmouth boasts 35 excellent en-suite bedrooms, all linked directly to the clubhouse, and is set in the midst of some 225 acres of delightful Devonshire countryside.
The rooms are decorated in a traditional style, but are fitted with all the requisite modern amenities to ensure that visitors to Dartmouth experience the best in comfort. Many of the bedrooms afford outstanding views over the golf courses to the rural surroundings, while the outstanding service will make all visitors feel entirely welcome and relaxed.
The Dartmouth Spa is incorporated into the hotel, and features an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, sun shower, sunbed and a splash pool for the kids, while the fully air-conditioned gym is well equipped for some serious training. For those in need of pampering, Dartmouth Spa has a full range of treatments to suit you.
Dartmouth's newly opened clubhouse Bar & Bistro serves a range of snacks, light bites and meals during the day, and an exquisite a la carte menu for dinner, utilising the area's array of locally sourced produce.

The hotel exterior could do with some tlc, however, the rooms were more than adequate (we had 4 singles) and came with a huge double bed, walk in shower and was generally comfortable. The bar/restaurant area was adequate, again, a little dated but plenty of choice at the bar (quite pricey). One ‘sports bar’ was closed until further notice and we felt the pro shop was lacking with choice to buy. The leisure facilities we didn’t use however, having been there before with my wife, I can remember them being good! We were on half board, the evening meal choices were excellent and the quality of the food was very good, as with the breakfast, buffet style all you can eat, great choices and good quality. We would go again.

Trip was Valentine and my Birthday couple of days. We arrived at hotel to be told that golf course closed. We asked why we were not contacted and they said they were not given our contact details to let us know. We contacted yourgolftravel and told we could re-arrange another date. We explained that was too late as no one had contacted us and a 3 hour drive and time taken off of work. The course was open the second day for us. Can we get any form of compensation or even discount of another trip there as we would have enjoyed there had been some communication. I have had a call from your company this morning and I think your operative is getting back to me about issues.

Rooms are basic and are starting to look a bit dated. Having said that they are clean and tidy and perfectly acceptable for a short golf stay where all you want is a comfortable bed and good shower. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall very good value and would certainly go again

Potential to be amazing ! Hotel is dates and needs upgrading- although the rooms are very good with space and comfy beds. Bar needs a bit of a facelift but is functional - could do wjtb a seperate dining space. Pool table was a bit messed up and cue was broken. Good showers and beds so the sleep was perfect. With a bit of investment and tidying up this place could be amazing !! Spa is basic but effective - one big positive of this place is the food !! The food was fantastic and the meal included in the package was great value for money. Breakfast is basic and not the greatest but three course dinner was superb Location is a bit secluded which is both a blessing and a curse - some of The roads in and out are terrible !!

I set off from Sussex on the 1st September heading for a three night stay at the Dartmouth Golf & Country Club and I'm happy to report the club was really easy to find, with a lovely entrance and a long, sweeping drive up to the hotel. A warm welcome greeted me at the reception desk where I checked in and upon getting to my room I was somewhat surprised, but delighted, to find my room was in fact a suite! This made for an extremely comfrotable stay and a great start to the trip.
I chose Dartmouth because I was able to meet up with old
friends with whom I could play golf. The golf course here is beautiful, with fabulous views over the Devon
countryside. The long walks between tees were fairly steep in places and I
discovered muscles in my legs I never knew I had; a buggy would come highly
recommended from this weary golfer!
I was blessed with beautiful weather too so the course was a joy to play and I really enjoyed meeting up
with old friends for a game.
The food at the resort was delicious and I can honestly say the breakfast I had was one of the best I have ever tasted. The staff were very friendly and helpful too which made for a really nice stay at Dartmouth Golf & Country Club.
For a quite, no frills weekend of golf, Dartmouth ticks all the boxes.

The course is superb and the difficulty rating is obviously from which tees you play. So yellow tees a good test for mid range handicaps. White tees a very good test for mid-low handicappers. Gold tees 5 or below handicap.

First day it rained pretty hard for the first hour of our round (this seemed to improve my game weirdly) but all 4 of us said and well maintained the course was. Rarely saw any surface water, greens well manicured and the overall layout of the course was challenging. Our only grey error - the bunkers, some of these were flooded and the quality of the sand was poor, to the point, notable scratches to my 58 degree from the 17th green side bunker. Other than that, we would definitely come back.

The only frustration were the greens had been sanded. Otherwise, particularly for the time of year and given the heavy rain fall course was in good condition generally. It's extremely tough, but the boys enjoyed the challenge. Think due to conditions and course difficulty the best score was four over handicap. Most were around 10 over, which says a lot.

As stated above communication was non-existent and we arrived to find courses closed on 1st day. However we played the 2nd day in awful weather and only saw 2 other groups playing as so bad. Therefore no hold ups at all. However considering awful weather we have had recently the ground staff have done amazing job. Obviously buggies not allowed on fairways. But that made common sense. I have played course before and beautiful when weather good.

Fantastic course at a very reasonable price. We played off the blue tees (6173yds) both days and this provided a stern test of golf with the wind blowing hard - I'm glad we didn't opt for the longer options. The greens were fantastic, and the course is very well maintained other than the tee boxes being a bit scrappy. There was also a large putting/chipping green which was in great condition, and some practice nets. There are a lot of undulations and it's quite a hilly course, with some long walks between holes (think Celtic Manor), so although it isn't a problem walking it if you're fit, most folks would probably want to hire a buggy here, and there were plenty available. We had the course to ourselves both days and really enjoyed our golf here. Would definitely play it again.

✓10 Aug 2023
Really hard to score this one !! Tee boxes are awful and in my opinion let the course down a bit- the bunkers are also out of sorts and seem to have the wrong sand in ? Barring those two issues the potential of this course is brilliant - lots of undulating fairways - tricky tee shots - tight fairways - small greens. This really is a gem of a course in terms of layout and it’s a shame the tees were a bit ropey and the general repairing of other players pitch marks was a bit of a an issue. Played off both the blues and the whites - really does change the course up and we had two days of completely different weather - day one wind and rain off the whites brutal test- Day two sun and calm - off the blues- really enjoyable and still tricksy. Would love to go back in the future and value for money wise was amazing !!

We knew it was hilly ,we had one buggy for one of our ladies and the rest of us walked . General condition was good . Great 18th finishing hole !
