The accommodation was lovely, all of our rooms were well kept and clean. All of the staff from reception the restaurant and on both courses were great. Very friendly and incredibly helpful. Special mention to Steve and Andrew. The drinks prices were ridiculous. Way over priced. Food on the last evening was a bit of a let down. It seemed they had run out of some ingredients, vegetables were missing from one of the meals and sadly lacking in others, soup choice was changed with no notice and the pork Wellington was really a giant sausage roll.

Had a really good stay. The family twin rooms are spacious, had sky sports to watch the golf, shower was great. It was clean and quiet. One of our group had a leaky A/c unit with a drip and puddle in their room which couldn’t be fixed. But the only blemish.

A large group of us came and enjoyed two rounds of Golf and an overnight stay. We all commented on how lovely the rooms were. My room was on the top floor with the balcony looking over the golf course and the South Downs. The staff were attentive and responded immediately to our needs. We all enjoyed our three course dinner and the breakfast in the morning, where there was good selection to suit all tastes and requirements. The Ryder bar is a lovely place to relax and enjoy after golf snacks and drinks on the patio and the sandwiches were excellent. The resort is easy to access from M25 and A22 and is set in beautiful and peaceful countryside in the South Downs

The hotel at East Sussex National was very good. The rooms are excellent and the service was very good. The two courses are challenging and interesting but not in the best condition. This may have been due to the lack of rain but the golf side of the site was understaffed and the attitude of the staff that were there was not great. Overall we had a great time and have no complaints about the arrangements made by Your Golf Travel, who did a great job.

Lovely golf course - Staff were not over friendly tbh - one day at the halfway house the person was quite abrupt with us , we were ordering individually and she jumped to others asking if they wanted a drink so she wouldn’t have to go back and open the fridge - the other day at the other halfway house the sever couldn’t be more helpfull Staff were not over friendly in the bars and restaurants also and although the restaurant was not very full we were unable to get our preferred time for dinner either day

We managed to get a great deal on 2 rounds of golf, dinner with an overnight stay with breakfast which was a great deal. Positives West course was fantastic, the hotel room was recently refurbed, which was nice and dinner was great. The deal for £170 was entice me to come back as felt was exceptional value. Negatives Very rude staff particulary in the pro shop, East course extremely tired, needed some love. The practice / driving range needs drastic improvement if they want to compete against better clubs/courses.

Staff and facilities ate amazing and we have been here now 4 times. Food was lovely and the bar area and lounge is very nice. They even organised fir us to watch Anthony Joshua’s fight. Just a small thing was a few cob webs in bar area, cleaning maybe needs to be stepped up.

Accommodation was comfortable although a little tired looking. As with most venues currently, staffing numbers and experienced personnel appears to be a concern and lacking in some areas. Quality of food was good and working with large golfing groups is never easy but food came out on time and without interruption, so everyone could eat at the same time. As you would expect with these ‘locked-in’ venues, bar prices can be steep but it didn’t curtail the indulgence ! Spa & gym is very good and worth the visit.

The accommodation was the excellent. Only or criticism is that one twin room was disabled and not suitable in respect of shower etc. I am dealing with one of the single rooms the occupant aged 80 slipped in the bath twice and injured his ribs. Rooms were spacious and very clean, both single and twin, and one of the better resorts we have stayed at. Our 20% discount on drinks made prices very similar to Pub levels and Ryder Bar was good - only criticism was that Ryder Bar closed at 6pm with no “last order” shouts. Menu for dinner choice was excellent and food was very good, arriving in timely fashion - only criticism on food was the breakfast buffet - I’m not a fan of buffet style breakfasts, as food often not hot, and the fried eggs were all overcooked, so breakfast rating would be average. All staff were extremely polite and welcoming, and Spa facilities were good, and we as a group would have no hesitation in returning, even though it involves a journey on the M25!

The only thing that let it down was to really make the dinner main course into a meaningful meal, we had to purchase seasonal veg at an extra cost since no veg of any substance came with the meal. For example the pork with crackling came with potatoes and little else; without broccoli, carrots and cauliflower it wasn’t really a proper dinner. We expected the dinner to be fully included and not be required to pay extra for something as essential and fundamental as basic veg.

This is an ok hotel to stay and play. Food good enough and plenty of choice for breakfast. Staff good too and use of the pool etc a real bonus. Disappointing part though to me is the main bar which is off the main reception area and with its open plan layout and marble flooring is very noisy, especially when busy with large groups of golfers. The bar prices too are a bit high compared with local pubs. Would this part put me off going back? Possibly. Shame though as the golf courses are great. Still a good value break though for the stay and play. Just don’t drink too much!

Top organisation with top personnel! When I checked-in at the reception, the paper work was ready with the correct room distribution. The portion for dinner was on the small side but sufficient. The 20% discount for all drinks was a nice surprise. We naturally took advantage of it. Nicoleta served our table of 12 and she was courteous, quick and always served with a smile. The rooms were big, clean but the only down side was the mattresses, which was too soft.

We had a 1 night stay at the East Sussex National hotel, the hotel was beautiful, situated right on the golf course. The rooms were amazing, spacious and very comfortable. The bar was big and the staff were very accommodating, prices for drinks were a little high, but it is a hotel. The only small knock was the food, the menu for half board is limited, so we ate from the bar menu and 1 of our 3 meals wasn’t quite up to par with the others. Overal a lovely place that we will go back too.

Hotel rooms are nice but the main hotel facilities are in desperate need of an upgrade. The main hotel-bar is essentially a foyer with no real atmosphere and one tiny TV to watch the football. This was even when we were sitting outside and just wanted to order some beers. No flexibility! The overnight golf bag drop a super idea, especially where 1st day was a bit wet so avoided taking trolley clubs back to car or room.

The hotel is a very large building and is part of a very large complex. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. Bed was very comfy. Only complaint I heard from anyone in our group was that their room was warm....although rooms do have Aircon. The meal in the evening was very adequate and breakfast was fine. Overall our deal to play and stay here was good value.

The hotel is in need of a refurbishment and is a bit tired. The stay was really saved by the quality of the golf courses, but we booked a breakfast and dinner package, but in reality the dinner portion is only a very limited menu with a £25 value. I am sure most people will do what we did and order from the a la carte menu, but then our food bill was something like £250 between four of us.

Fantastic overall. Bar staff were not all friendly. In fact, one or 2 quite rude. Bar manager at the clubhouse definitely needs to improve his attitude. Restaurant staff top notch - Prashant, the restaurant manager should be proud of his team. Front desk - check in and check out was superb. Golf courses were fab and pro staff, golf staff and marshalls were very friendly and helpful. Loved the bag storage facility. Would definitely return. Big congrats to GM John. However please rectify urgently, your communications. For such a super hotel, it is a shame your teams fail to respond and getting through to various departments is a nightmare. Dont just take my word for it - test them. You will be able to establish how much business you might be losing because of this. WE WILL BE RETURNING.

The bar staff in the bar behind the 18th weren’t particularly welcoming, also we had to tell the staff every time we bought a drink that we were residents to get the 20% discount, we were never asked, this would appear to have been a directive from the management. All the other bar and restaurant staff were great apart from the bar manager in the main bar who was arrogant and rude.

Unfortunately we found the experience a let down. The staff cold and unfriendly. One member of staff in particular, I believe his name was Kevin, who worked the golf club house bar. Room is a bit dated and twin beds different height. Staff very polite and bar is nice. However when we checked out and asked front desk to call us a taxi to go Uckfield train station, it is from Green taxi - driver arrived but required a huge surcharge because he drove from Lewes, we asked the receptionist if she was notified of the surcharge and she said she did not know. I complained to taxi company and he said hotel should call a local taxi.

We really enjoyed have a winter 2 night break. The value for money for the two nights with dinner and then three rounds of golf was excellent. We also used the spa and booked some treatments there. Fantastic! Food was great. The spa facilities and changing facilities for golf, excellent. We didn’t use the spike bar, but the bar in the hotel was ok, although typical of a large event hotel. In my own view, it lacked a little character, but was large, open plan and perhaps more suited for couples on a weekend away, rather than a large golf society. Ample table and chairs but no music. The beer was reasonably priced compared to some 4* hotels I’ve been to and the Spitfire lager very nice. Bottom line - would I go back? I resounding YES.

Overall feeling of all our group, 8 of us for 3 rounds and 3 nights dinner B&B, over Ryder Cup weekend was that the hotel was quite soulless, it had no personality or atmosphere. It was clean, bright and functional for overnight stays, but that was about it. The hotels priority is clearly for weddings (2 while we were there), conferences/meetings and spa days, the golfers and golf groups appeared to be inconsequential, and even an inconvenience to them. The rooms were clean and functional, but mine I think was in West Sussex it was that far away, especially on two occasions when the door key didn't work and and I had to go all the way back to reception to sort it out. The set meals were OK but nothing special, bar prices were good and bar food was nice, but there was little atmosphere in there. Most of the staff were mediocre, the male reception staff very off-hand. The only staff member with any personality and very helpful was the restaurant manager Abdul, he was great. Biggest disappointment for us though was how little they did for the golf groups that wanted to watch and enjoy the Ryder Cup. They did nothing in the golf club bar, which closed at 5.30!!, so they wheeled out a second large tv into the hotel bar which was far from ideal and then you had a mixture of people that weren't at all interested in the golf and golfers trying to share the same space, not ideal. We would have thought a golf resort would have made an extra special effort for golfers over Ryder Cup weekend. The hotel experience didn't ruin the weekend, but it did spoil it. Our golf was really good, so would play golf there again but not use the hotal.

We had a great time as usual on our annual golf trip to England. Even though various efforts have been made due to covid. The hotel is good but I feel that the reception (locals) could have helped us more in finding a ride back to the airport, which was not easy and some of our time was spent finding it ourselves as foreigners.

Went with a group of 12 golfers. We have been several times before and keep returning as it meets all our needs and is not too far to travel. Rooms are a good size with usual beverage items, but no biscuits, so not quite back to pre covid standards! Bathrooms also a good size with both a bath and separate powerful shower. Main concern was the ambient noise in the restaurant and the area just outside the restaurant reserved it seems for golfers which did not make you feel like other guests. It was the hard floor and walls that echos the noise so that everyone had to shout to each other to be heard. We would identify a gentleman called "Lawrie" behind the bar that gave true Customer service. Overall, there seemed a shortage of staff which resulted in long service times at dinner. Food was very good as was the buffet breakfast. Hotel bar area is too open and not at all cosy.

hi unfortunately our trip was spoilt by the shambles of the waiters and waitresses. Whilst I completely understand the problems with Covid there was no excuse for our drinks bill always being wrong, orders being brought up late and again wrong. Having been away to a different hotel 2 weeks before on a similar trip where the staff couldn't do enough for us this sadly wasn't the case here. Hotel in general was ok. Staff were trying to make the best of a bad situation what with all the restrictions in place but it wasn’t the best. Quite a small area of seating to have a drink at the only open bar on the complex lead to the ordering of drinks being somewhat his and miss but I guess that is the same everywhere. Maybe a few more staff would help. Rooms were fine. Great location right next door to clubhouse so super convenient. Disappointed that the clubhouse was not open for a drink after the round though. Dinner was ok, again could’ve been better but I guess current circumstance dictates that.

The courses and the facilities exceeded my expectations. Both courses are great and really interesting tracks. I'm surprised more isn't talked about the whole complex. I think the golf is ahead of the Belfrey for example.

The room was lovely with a view of the East course. Very clean with tea and coffee and biscuits. There was an added touch of an Espresso machine and pods. Lovely. What let it down was the food. As we had dinner bed and breakfast there was a set menu. It was the worse one I have ever seen with only 3 choices for mains - pork, fish and a vegetarian option. For an extra £10 you could have steak. Breakfast seemed to have a great selection and looked good. We sat down at 8.15 (breakfast starts at 7.30) and everything was either cold or tepid apart from the sausages which clearly had just been topped up. the fried eggs were rubbery and the scrambles eggs were runny (but that is just a matter of taste). The fried bread was rock hard. All in all for a 5 star resort pretty awful. We found out that the green fees were £50 weekdays and if you went as a 4ball, £200 which was for a round of golf and ham, egg and chips thrown in. Given that the regular price to play and stay is usually £179, it just isn't worth it. The staff were some of the best staff we have ever come across. The bar staff could do with a bit more training in their measures for fortified wines. They gave me a 'double' sherry which was measured in a spirits measure. So I got a single sherry at double the price. Being as the barman didn't even know what a sherry was I was on a hiding to nothing so gave up. My advice is book a green fee and stay elsewhere. Much cheaper. Or just have a golf day if you're near enough.

Just back from a fantastic trip to East Sussex National and we got a great deal through YGT who made sure we got the best price available and arranged all tee times / rooms to our convenience.

East Sussex National is a top notch hotel with great rooms, good food, reasonable drinks prices, on-site spa/pool and excellent service (particularly from the golf staff).

The facilities were great too. There’s a decently stocked pro shop, good short game areas, practice greens and a full length driving range. We played on both courses and the West is an absolute gem of a course which has got to stand up there with the very best in the UK.

I would definitely recommend East Sussex National for an amazing golf break and of course will be booking with YGT again in the future.

We played both the East and West courses at East Sussex National and found them to be in excellent condition. Both courses were quite long (especially the East course) and challenging so choose your tees wisely. We preferred the more picturesque, tree lined layout of the West course over the East but both are excellent tests of golf.

The course Marshalls are very helpful and try to make sure that groups play at a good pace which makes for a great experience.

The inside of the clubhouse was a little bland, but the outdoor terraces were lovely and we were lucky enough to have warm sunny weather in which to enjoy them. There was a wide choice of bar meals and sandwiches which were very tasty and reasonably priced.

The Pro shop was excellent with good selections of clubs, bags, clothing and gadgetry on offer. The caddy master facilities were also very good. Our clubs were taken care of overnight and were cleaned and delivered ready for the next day’s golf which we all thought was an excellent touch.

We loved the hotel too. It was spacious and modern with a large bar area, the reception staff on our arrival were really helpful and the restaurant staff were also very keen to make sure everything was to our liking.

The menu in the restaurant was quite limited – a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts only – but we had no trouble finding something appealing and all the food was delicious, including one of the largest helpings of cheese, crackers, chutney and grapes I have ever had!  

We upgraded to a club room which gave us a beautiful view from our balcony of the golf course and Sussex hills beyond. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with everything you could wish for including some fantastic field mushrooms.

We had a brilliant stay in all respects and would definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend to others.  We would score it as a solid 9 out of 10 and once again we received great service from Yourgolftravel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the East Sussex National resort. The accommodation was excellent as were the golf courses and all staff members were very obliging. Nothing was too much trouble.

Offloading the golf clubs on arrival was another plus as it meant the Ladies only had to take their batteries back to their rooms to charge them. The Ladies agreed they could quite happily return to East Sussex National another day.

Both golf courses at East Sussex National were in excellent condition and provided a very fair test of golf for all abilities. The bar prices were a little on the high side but we had no complaints at all with the hotel staff or the facilities.

I would also like to make a special mention of the on course staff as they were exceptional. The starters were very friendly and helpful and having your clubs cleaned and looked after each night was an excellent extra touch. 

Overall I would rate East Sussex National 9.5/10.

We had a great time at East Sussex National last week. The golf courses are lovely to look at, in good condition and have challenging greens which keep you on your toes. All members of the golf team were so friendly and keen to make sure we had a good time and of course there was the bonus of having our clubs cleaned after each round and stored overnight...altogether a very special experience.

The overnight stay was excellent too, with lovely food in the hotel. 

We would definitely like to have another golf break at East Sussex National and would recommend others do the same.

We were a party of four golfers who played both the East and the West course on a golf break to east Sussex National.

Both golf courses offer up a terrific challenge. We played off of the gold tees (back) and our high handicappers played from the whites (forward) and we all agreed that the courses gave us some very enjoyable and swashbuckling golf.

It is clear that when it was built in 1990, no expense was spared in laying down the golf courses. They are both very well routed and the scale of the holes is staggeringly good. There is something for everyone here.

Undulating greens, water hazards, tree lined fairways, picture perfect par threes, demanding par fours, strategic decisions to be made, barn storming Par 5s all complemented by lush fairways, flat tee boxes and well cared for greens.

Cut through mature forest, most of the shots have a degree of pressure which is great fun. In terms of the golf alone, this place comes highly recommended from me from now on!

The off course facilities do not disappoint either. From the bar to the restaurants and into the guestrooms, everything is really nice. The spa is a welcome treat too. This resort offers tremendous value for money whichever way you look at it.

We will be back for more soon. One tip though...take a buggy if you can. It’s a long, tough walk otherwise and they are not overly expensive.

East Sussex National proved an excellent choice for a golf break. The reception on arrival was one of the most friendly we have ever encountered and this was the case for all the staff we met throughout the resort. They all appeared to be really pleased to see us and gave helpful advice when asked, going out of their way to get the information requested. The caddy master and golf staff also gave an excellent service and it was great to have our clubs retained in the store and returned cleaned the next day.

The two golf courses were in excellent condition with well maintained greens and we enjoyed playing both courses. Neither was over-crowded, allowing most enjoyable holiday golf.

The guestrooms in the hotel were a really good size, were very clean and had good facilities. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. It was disappointing to have the same meats on the carvery on two consecutive nights, particularly with an allergy to one, but an alternative was offered when this was mentioned. Good service once again.

In summary an excellent break, good value and extremely efficient admin and advice from YGT.

The East Sussex National resort made for a perfect weekend break, with two accessible (but challenging) courses offering a good amount of variety for the improving & more experienced golfer. Both were in great condition too.

The facilities at the resort exceeded expectations, with the accommodation being spacious, and a health spa offering the choice of pool/sauna/steam for a welcome way of unwinding after 18 holes.

The package was found to be very good value by all, with a host of inclusions at a very competitive price. Both myself and partner would recommend East Sussex National & YGT to friends.
