Designed by the internationally acclaimed duo of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, this par-72 championship layout is a compelling blend of links-style architecture and traditional desert target golf.
Stretching to nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees, the course features lush, rolling fairways that provide a generous landing area compared to many of its neighbours. However, the challenge remains sharp, with 65 strategically placed bunkers and three sparkling blue lakes that come into play on the back nine.
Golfers will find several risk-reward opportunities typical of a Weiskopf design, such as the short par-4 sixth, which tempts the bold to go for the green while demanding precision to avoid the surrounding sand. The greens, featuring Tif 328 Bermuda grass, are known for being large, fast and true, requiring a deft touch to navigate their subtle undulations.

The Sunset Grill is an elegant clubhouse restaurant and bar that features some of the finest views in the valley. Whether starting the day with a hearty breakfast or unwinding after a round, the experience is defined by the panoramic vistas of the Estrella Mountain Range visible from the outdoor patio.
For those on the move, the half-way house is conveniently located near the practice facilities, ensuring that snacks and refreshments are always within reach.
The practice facilities at Foothills are extensive, offering a mountain-side driving range that measures over 300 yards with various target areas to help dial in your distance. A newly remodelled 5,000-square-foot putting and chipping green allows for serious short-game refinement, while a dedicated practice bunker and pitching area provide ample space to master the art of escaping the desert sand.
The value-conscious traveller looking for a high-quality desert experience that rivals the more expensive Troon-managed layouts in the area.
Players who enjoy a strategic, links-style challenge that rewards good course management while offering enough forgiveness to keep the scorecard respectable.
Fans of stunning mountain scenery and a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere as a starting point for a wider Arizona tour.
