Golf Club Hossegor could easily be mistaken for Wentworth or Sunningdale, and this is predominantly due to the role of the great John Morrison in its creation. The project was completed in 1930, and is highly reminiscent of the heathland gems of southern England. This style is complemented perfectly by the sandy soil of picturesque south west France, which also ensures that Hossegor remains in great condition year round.

The initial construction project saw Morrison call on the extensive knowledge of Arnaud Massey, former Open Champion, and in more recent years, the esteemed Cabell B. Robinson was commissioned to revise the layout.

The modifications carried out by Robinson were focused on reworking the shape of the fairways, as well as wholesale changes to the bunkering. The result is that Hossegor is more playable and more enjoyable than ever, ensuring that the club remains one of south west France's most desirable championship golf courses.
