The golf course at Etretat is a sublime and spectacular one that ranks alongside the most enjoyable of any in Normandy. The par-72 layout is perched dramatically on the edge of the classical white cliffs of the coastline, high above the English Channel.

The cliff-top location means the views are nothing short of stunning but keep those drives straight as a few of the holes run dangerously close to the edge!

The course was first laid out in 1908 and it is rumoured that many of France’s leading artists have enjoyed the atmosphere and simple beauty of Golf d'Etretat. It can get quite windy on the course but this just adds to the challenge and enjoyment of this type of links golf.

Golf d'Etretat

Like many of the great courses in Northern France, Etretat was created from the inspiration of the Britishexpatriate community, and it remains a firm favourite. From the tips, thecourse is a challenging championship layout that stretches over 6,500 yards.

The views from this historic course are well worth the tripalone, but the golf course itself is equally impressive. Stay at the DormyHouse Etretat in town to enjoy the best of this cliff top classic.
