Cabell Robinson, once a key member of Robert Trent Jones Junior's design team, is the man who created this highly ranked Cannes golf course, a championship standard, modern layout with views of Grasse and the surrounding area.
The tournament tees present a challenge in excess of 6,700 yards, and Grand Bastide is a fine choice for a serious round or relaxing holiday golf alike, which is why it features in so many French golf holidays.

The course was very poor in parts. There was a lot of work going on. Very bare in places. Tee boxes were extremely poor.

Not as well kept as other courses in the area. Wouldn’t rush back to play it.

Bastide was the only disappointment. We had a voucher for an 1106 tee time, apparently agreed between YGT and Bastide (or whatever intermediary is used to manage tee time bookings)The system at Opio is for the hotel (Begude)to re-issue their own vouchers both for Opio and Bastide, also buggy tickets. After our middle day of heavy rain I thought it prudent to get Begude to check that Bastide was open. It was but they had no knowledge of us or our tee time. Bastide did however offer us a 1454 tee time which we accepted. On arrival it was evident that they were hosting a ladies Open of some sort that had started early am. There was no way they would have allocated us an 1106 slot in the middle of it so how, why and by who were we given it and a voucher that was worthless? We did play at 1454 and had to join a local elderly father and son for a 4 ball, no problem, they were lovely but Dad gave up after 6 holes and son after 9. By the time we got back to the clubhouse it was gone 1900 and the place was shut, couldn't even get a machine coffee. OK, we got the golf we paid for but this shouldn't have happened. I hope you can find out why and prevent it happening again to others.
