The Diane Barrière-Desseigne course is the resort's premier championship course, built around a massive lake that is a striking focal point. The course reaches 6,888 yards from the back markers, and is a parkland layout that presents a considerable test even to highly skilled players. The wide fairways are forgiving, but the testing greens are closely guarded by strategically positioned bunkers, making accuracy an invaluable asset.
The second course at Golf International Barrière La Baule is named after the resort's founder, Lucien Barrière. It is marginally shorter than its neighbour, at 6,622 yards, but is by no means inferior. Winding through the landscape's impressive oak and chestnut trees, the course is best viewed as two distinct halves; the first nine offers up some birdie chances, but the closing stretch is characterised by narrower fairways, and is punctuated by a number of treacherous water hazards.
The golfing options don't end there; the resort is home to an excellent 9-hole executive course, and has recently unveiled its Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf, where you can receive the best instruction of utilise the cutting edge facilities to help sharpen your skills.

Wee bit of a mix up with tee times when we were booked to play on the 9 hole course for two days…. Quickly sorted it with the pro shop and all ended well. Good layout in both red & blue courses with enough testing tee shots to keep you on your toes. Pace of play was good. Would definitely return if I was in the area.

The course unfortunately very wet when we played it. It seems to sit on a clay bed so retains the water. The course meanders with a lot of walking between tees and greens. the land doesn't lend itself to a good course, it feels like it was originally farming land which they have stretched to a golf course. worth playing but it is 30 minutes from the hotel and one to avoid if it has been raining!
