Village Hotel Herons' Reach Blackpool

The room was large, clean and bathroom modern, but the toilet kept running after flushing. My group of 12 golfers found the “village app” easy to use, but disappointing that the in-house Starbucks wouldn’t accept it for purchases. The gym was well equipped and swimming pool ideal, but both meals were delivered over an our late in the “pub and grill”, both nights and it was really noisy. Also the main screen TV kept switching to hotel village adverts in the middle of a football game on night and darts game another night (very annoying). The staff were lovely and very helpful, but on many occasions they had to step in to help guests use the checkout/ check-in terminals. Breakfast was excellent in the Helter Skelter restaurant.

All good . The only down side is the long drawn out process to get the discount code. Would be simpler just to give you a group code instead of each individual having to download the app & then requiring a unique code.

Hotel was great food was fantastic we had are meals in the pub at night reccomed the fish n chips the breakfast was great you could use all the facilities pools sauna the rooms are ABIT warm but we asked for a fan which was no problem think this is due to the heated pool

only bad thing to say was the bar closed very early and there was nowhere. to sit and chat when the bar had closed .

Very good, only let down by AC that didn't work properly and a light weight couldn't turn off! Affected the sleep. Could have told reception, but was 2am when we were going to sleep, and only found out then!

Lovely hotel with excellent facilities in a lovely setting. Unfortunately it was far to busy when we attended and we didn't get the service we were expecting when dining. The staff were working hard but there weren't enough of them and it took us hours to complete our 3 course meal which turned out to be 2 courses!

Absolutely Brilliant, the bar staff, caterers and especially the lads in the golf shop. One employee, Dan, deserves a special mention as he went above and beyond. He sorted the app for the drinks discount on peoples phones as well as sorting out our evening meal time by driving out to the course. He wouldnt even take a drink for doing this for us.

Excellent value for money. One nights stay with evening meal, breakfast and two rounds of golf for £125...outstanding! Hotel facilities are really good,spa,gym and pool areas are very good. Bar is expensive however...£7 for a beer!

Fairly basic accommodation. Rooms recently refurbished to a reasonable standard. Staff were without exception very warm, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast selection was fairly limited e.g. very little in the way of fruit.

Great venue and great course. The hotel is getting a bit tired but great value for the money. Food was fantastic. Course in the best condition we have seen it over the past 5 years.

The hotel was quite busy, hosting a gym, pool and golf facility, but that was expected. Our room was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay, but would say the clothes storage is limited if staying longer than a few days. The food we ate in the bar and grill was very good and not over expensive

The hotel was excellent, great facilities. The room was clean and really spacious, bathroom and shower were brilliant.

Rooms were good beds comfy only problem was the TV wasn’t working but as we were only there one night didn’t bother us. Food was also good and for £115 two rounds of golf bed breakfast and evening meal well worth the visit.

The staff are very helpful just not enough of them. I'm not saying it's a bad place but as golf weekends go this is definitely a place to visit. The hotel facilities pool, steam room gym etc are really good , the food however is not the best, very basic and bland and the breakfast although they have a full English choice it's very bland with scrabbled egg you need a spoon to eat, streaky bacon you could bring back to life. I would normally have a continental breakfast of buns, cold meats and cheese but there isn't any. Do not leave anything valuable in your vehicle because they get broken into, mine did as they tried to steel for ford ranger, luckily I have a back up immobiliser but they still damaged my vehicle

Hotel facilities really good along with the staff and the food had a really enjoyable stay .

We were happy with nearly everything and we would definitely stay and play there again. We had an issue with our evening meal being really delayed but the Hotel was crowded and the Euro Final was on, so understandable. We complained and by way of apology they gave us a round of free drinks. Really nice touch. So yes definitely a good experience . Thanks

The staff were excellent and the rooms were very comfortable. The food choices were good and the food was well cooked . The leisure centre was excellent

Easy to find location which is always a food start. The resort was friendly, receptive, clean and tidy. All staff were friendly and attentive and looked after us from the first moment. We ate at the bar post round and food was delicious with portion sizes just right. Prices at the bar were also good value. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable all that was needed after an enjoyable 18 holes.

the hotel was nice clean and kept to a good standard, the rooms were comfy and with the Tv, kettle shower all respectable. the only downside was when we went down for breakfast on the Sunday, due to the amount of guests that were allowed in at anyone time, we ran out of bread for the toasters, milk and some of the cutlery, some of the previous diners had left their tables and the staff were struggling to tidy them up due to the amount of folks trying to eat at that time to meet their tee-off time.

for the price very good value second day of our stayover course was closed dou to waterlogged course but the gave us all vouchers to return anytime to suit us

The value for money was rated low due to 155 advertisements on the web that jumped to 325 due to me travelling on my own… I believe it’s a miss advertisement as i never read prices based on two people! I put in 1 person travelling on the information page which still showed 155pp and this should have bee the price I feel, as that was what was displayed.

because another group pulled out we could not have the buffet dinners we were given a small set menue with a 25.00 budget same menu both nights not good enough when you have paid £275 and £375 single supplement for the weekend

Hotel was showing a lot of signs of neglect. Quite shabby in places. Food for the golf groups was in a separate area and was a very basic buffet. The hotel itself was a good size and had everything but just ran down. Staff were good and friendly and the sports bar was good for evening groups, lots of TVs with all the sports on.

A fantastic time was had by all members of our party, no complaints whatsoever, food was good, Golf corse was in excellent condition. We are a party that likes to travel around to different hotels and courses, I would definitely recommend and no reason we won't be back in for future trips

Bar food menu limited but good quality. Struggled with £25 per head limit

Rooms were tired. Sports Bar was in need of cleaning along with poor table clearances, which seemed to be attributable to staff shortages. The Restaurant is now a Buffet style, previously we were given £25 vouchers per Dinner. We had played Golf elsewhere in Blackpool and were looking to eat at 8.00 but found the new hours were 6.30 to 8.00. We managed to get everyone in just, but the quality of food was poor first night. After much complaining we were promised a "much improved" buffet which it was. Breakfasts were very good relatively.

Really nice place and a good golf course. Enjoyed the golf trip, staff very friendly and good facilities. My only criticism would be the rooms, extremely dated, so would not recommend if you stay in your room a lot, but we were on the golf course and out in the evening, but overall they did not take away our enjoyment of the trip as a whole.

Accommodation was good. The hotel staff couldnt do enough for us. The staff in the club house are some of the nicest people we have dealt with. Our party of 28 had three fanastic days golfing. The course was in great condition. The bar staff were every bit a nice and helpful. Thank you, your all a credit to your hotel

We had a good stay . We attend a 3day 2night golf break every year. On thia occasion unfortunately the shaver socket in room 448 did not work, not a big peoblem but inconvenient.

Stayed in many places and can say they have the most friendly staff I have come across. They were all so friendly and helpful. Hotel and facilities were brilliant.

The accommodation was excellent ,the pub and grill bar also good. the only downside was the evening buffet wS poor limited choice, getting a meal at the pub grill looked more appealing.

Hotel rooms were on the small size but comfortable, some of the golf society had no food left and the staff had to offer pizza etc due to the shortage of the main course on the first night but as a compensation we was served peppered steak the following evening.

Despite our request for an accessible room (wife has mobility issues) staff claimed YGT had not made the request to them so one was not available for some time so sat in reception with bags and clubs waiting for room to be made ready. The room was fine other than the bathroom which had a tiled floor which was not non slip so due to the poorly designed sink that splashed water on the floor my wife slipped and broke her right foot big toe on the wall under the sink. The restaurant previously a 50's themed Italian had been changed to a sports bar with large plasma tv's on every wall. The quality of the fare was extremely poor we were not impressed.

Room ok. Staff were great. Hotel needs a refurb. £12.50 meal voucher not transferable to bar restaurant. Me and my wife didn't realy want to have the buffet meal with a load of golfers we didn't know who were having a great time. We were here to unwind as well as play golf.

The accommodation is fairly basic but absolutely fine for a weekend away playing golf. The rooms are clean, but as our room was south facing it was very warm and no aircon.

The hotel was in a good location but unfortunately the hotel its self was very tired looking and needed refurbishing especially in the public areas. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Wifi was not very good.

Staff were great, food and drink was just what we were after!

Arrived at Herons Reach Village Hotel for 2 nights and 2 rounds of golf. The golf course was immaculate with fairways & greens pristine. Really enjoyed playing there. Accommodation was good and staff really friendly. In the restaurant on our 1st night the food was a bit bland but on the 2nd night really good and a good selection of dishes. Breakfast for both days good. All in all a great place to visit and great value for money.

Although we had confirmation of dinner times from YGT the hotel and restaurant had no booking for us. Luckily they were no overly busy. Very limited choice of menu. Food we did order was just Ok.

Hotel seemed very busy and our society was put into a side function room for our evening meal was a buffet which had been left under the heat for too long making it very dry, no cream to accompany the desert, also bar not open! Some staff very unhelpful especially at breakfast were the buffet was very limited and any additional request for something extra was just refused. Also rooms very dated and in need of a refurbishment. It has certainly changed from our last visit there.

We’re do I start I got there they had no booking for me they give me a room because they thought I was someone else they had no booking for my golf on two days they squeezed me in I was naked and two people walked into my room all my possessions could have been stolen because that was supposed to be there room I got the door knocked down 3 times whilst I was in the bath the management saying they’ve got no booking or recognition of me being there it was a total cock up they made me out to be a lier !

Comfortable though needs a bit of tidying up as some areas are worn and need updating

Everything about our stay was excellent more than what we expected. Rooms clean & comfortable, food fantastic, spa lovely. Most importantly the staff were very helpful & friendly. Well done to all.

Disappointed that we were only made aware that the restaurant was closed on arrival and we would have to eat in the bar. Food was fairly disappointing. Also we were not told about our 25% discount at the bar until the Thursday of our stay.

After playing golf 8 of us wanted to watch the match at 6pm but was booked in to the restaurant which didnt open till 7. Staff in the bar and grill were really helpful allowing us to eat in there early and even reserved the big screen cinema seats for us, food was great and good atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable and very clean, only 1 tiny negative the showers were red hot and couldnt be changed. Special mention to Jasmine on reception who is a great asset to the hotel, sorted us out, booked our taxis and even saw her giving another guest medical treatment later. Golf course in good condition considering the weather recently. Overall a great trip and will return.

Heating in room didn't work,but other than that room was clean.was not clear whether I had to use an app to get evening food so didn't bother.

Large golfing party. We did not get the 3 course meal, we had booked but had to eat in bar which was chaotic., Meal booked for 7.30 but no tables set up for us. Party scattered across bar and eventually ate at 9.30 pm Got buffet second night but only 2 courses, and a choice of chilli or chicken, nothing else

We really enjoyed our stay. However, I was expecting to eat dinner in a restaurant and be waited on and served drinks. However, we had to eat in the pub and wait on ourselves which was not what I have ever done before on a Sunday driver. Apart from the the hotel was a little dates especially the bedrooms.

My first visit to this hotel was almost 10yrs ago , we were blown away with the newly refurbished hotel then , now not so much it was looking tired as if it hadn't been touched in all that time. Check in was self service which was fine except the receptionist said we were here until Thursday I corrected her that it was Friday ( should have taken that as a warning sign) as my friend went to his room on the Tuesday for a jumper and couldn't get in long story short they had checked him out.( they blamed the error on YGT) The food in the bar was great however the bar staff did not have a clue we had bought about 6 rounds of drinks before finding out we should have had 25% off all drinks( not a cheap bar we were not reimbursed )we were also entitled to £20 a head for food that we had to constantly remind them of, the menu had all the wrong prices which didn't help when ordering , there was no table appointment for us because the receptionist had checked us out on the Wednesday. one of the dinner nights we were given a table with 2 large bird Sh%ts on the windows next to us which were still there the next night . Also as my friend and i were playing golf our wives had planned to make use of the Spa which had been taken away 18 months prior , not according to their website.. this was a major let down for them . All these issues are an easy fixes a 4 star hotel should easily meet. Although my friends didn't blame me i felt responsible as i had proposed this venue. The golf course was in good nic only some of the fairways were scorched a bit , Greens good. some of this might sound tedious but when its one thing after another it was really starting to spoil things for us all.

Hotel us fantastic in many ways especially staff and leisure facilities. Outdoor bar area is very tired and scruffy looking. Bizzare rule about £20 evening dinner , not being able to go over the allowance and pay the difference. Overall a very good stay.

We were put in basement room with eye view of outside pool which was not ideal for 2 x men as we could not open window without the feeling of us peering at people in pool ( not ideal ) We also got told nothing on arrival of what times parts of hotel where open or closed and where dinner or breakfast would be served

Have stayed here before and unfortunately due to the circumstances the hotel is operating differently so consequently the quality and quantity of food in the restaurant was very poor.rooms where ok and staff tried there best in difficult circumstances.i wouldn’t stay again until things get back to something like normality.

The accommodation was pretty good considering the problems Covid creates. Obviously no phones to handle in the rooms but that presented no problem to us. The coffee and tea tray was very sparse too with paper mugs but again that was expected. On the whole no complaints on that score. The bed was perfect lovely and spotless. The drawback for me was the bathroom which didn’t have a good shower power I love a good hot powerful shower and although reasonably hot it had very little power.

Rooms are becoming tired, we had 3 rooms. 1. The shower was hanging off the wall. 2. Tv didn’t work after numerous attempts by staff. 3. Bathroom light didn’t work and room wasn’t ready for 2 1/2hrs after check in time. Bar was over subscribed so struggled to eat and drink even with our dinner bed breakfast package & Pre booked. Hotel in a great location with pleasant staff shame there wasn’t enough staff to cope with demand.

Reception staff were good, restaurant and bar staff were surly and unwelcoming. Breakfast was extremely poor did not risk the evening meal.

Good hotel good golf course unfortunately the dinner that comes with the golf package was pathetic. Burger or Curry, really?? Didn't even stay for it, went out instead.. will look elsewhere next time if it's the same. Cheers, carl.

As a group of 32 we were completely missed off Saturday evenings meal rota. This meant that we were served late and there was only 2 choices of main course, with no vegetarian option. One of the rooms had a broken shower and toilet this was reported, but no action taken. the result was that room shared the bathroom facilities of another room.

Spa and pool are good and beds are comfy but the rooms are looking a bit tired and the restaurant is quite average...

Room was gloomy and very tired. needed an upgrade. Poor furnishings. Noisy fan in bathroom running at odd times - not controllable. Noisy at night with many children running up and down corridors and banging doors. waited too long for food in restaurant and golf bar. Half an hour for a fish sandwich at lunch time and evening meal. Food was very good.

Had an amazing time at herons reach, we were well looked after by all the hotel staff. The rooms were clean and well presented. The bar prices were what you'd expect from an hotel with happy hour running for most of the day anyway up until 7pm, then after that we got 20% off our bar bill. GREAT !!!... For our 1st nights meal we chose the 3 course buffet it was just what we needed after an hard day on the course and plenty of beer. The 2nd nights meal was chosen from the set menu, afainthis was fantastic. Ryan taco as we named him and the team of waiters and waitresses really looked after us or more like put up with us(sorry for the noise). Breakfast was again great with everything anybody could want. Only one slight moan was that the room was a bit warm but there was a fan provided in the room. We will definitely be back....

Hotel in need of refurbishment, golf course far too busy only played 9 holes Sunday and Monday , took 2 and 3/4 hours to play 9 holes on Sunday and 2hrs 25 mins to play 9 on Monday .

Breakfast buffet Food cold every single morning of our 4 night stay 2 of our 3 dinner meals very poor in quality. We arrange with reception as restaurant not open to bring our dinner time forward confirmed with reception that it was ok. Went into restaurant early only to be told that they were not aware as reception had not notified them. Water went off ton 2 days while we were there not just for minutes for hours no notification when it would come back on. Golf course and staff on golf brilliant but the hotel would stop us returning

Hotel in general was good. And pool and fitness suite very nice. Rooms were comfortable. The staff could be a lot more pro active seen some litter lying about on the carpet on the stairs early on first day and it was still lying next day. Vending machine's seemed to out of order. The worst part of the whole trip was the dinner in the restaurant sat us down at 1930 told us she would be back to take drink orders. Another person returned 20 mins later. He took our drinks order and our food order 3 starters 5 mains 2 desserts. 10 minutes later the starters came and were eaten,still no sign of drinks. So i stopped one of the waitresses on the way past to ask about drinks she said she'd chase them up. Burgers came out they were very nice. Then we sat for 30 minutes waiting on 2 desserts. All in we sat in the restaurant 1hour 45min for 2 courses each and 1 drink.

Great venue for golf or just a break

Use to be more classic But they changed make more Accessible to everyone so they have a very good sports program gym facility so great Swimming pool is well-kept

The bedroom had a great comfy clean bed but the room really does need some upgrading Kettle facilities good. Bathroom ; bath too deep to get out easily but plenty hot water and towels. We were there to play golf so we were not worrying too much about decorations in bedrooms.

The hotel looks a bit tired, could do with an update, but well good enough for our 2 night golf break. Excellent breakfast & 2 course evening meal. Facilities were very good.

The course was much heavier than we expected, but then we learnt storm Amy had passed through just a week earlier. The pro shop was well equipped and staff helpful. For golf groups there wasn’t really a quiet place to meet up for our daily awards meeting and prize giving as a speaker couldn’t be heard in the pub and grill and the heater skelter area was closed

Greens were excellent. Bunkers require more sand ( in Blackpool) Overall they a really challenging & well kept course

Great condition with perfect facilities. We were surprised how good it was for the money. Not a premier destination, but it should be. Our 16 golfing group were all knocked out by how well it played and how comfortable we all felt at the complex. But I would say that.... I won!

Brilliant 2 days on herons reach course was immaculate and the lads in the golf shop couldn't do enough for you and I would like to thank Blackpool hospice for inviting us when we got there for there golf day it was great a few raffle prizes won and I won nearest pin on par3 lovely presentation after 25 pound voucher for club shop and invited us back next year wonderful experience recommended this course to anyone

course was in great condition and enjoyed all 4 rounds . The venue could do with more buggies as lots of people including our group were trying to book them but they were all being used .

Pleasant enough course but the greens were atrocious and over aerated and unplayable - we didn't bother playing our second round and won't be back.

A great course that beggers belief that its 5,800 yards from the yellows as alot of par 4's seem to be 400 yards not really any feature holes but every hole is certainly different.

Its always nice when the weather is good and the weather for us was exceptional, its even better when you are playing well.

Scorched tee boxes were in poor condition, bit the course was okay. Ideal for a society stay. There is public access however, so you can be on a tee box and two border collies can run over to greet you 😂

greeting very welcoming, due to bad weather the staff tried to do as much as possible, only ended up playing once but can return to play second booking. caught up with 4ball that teed off 30 mins before us that made it slow. course was very wet but understandable after the rain on Wednesday

Unfortunately when we played the course was rather soft -not really surprising given it was October. The greens had been hollow core tined and dressed which we were not advised of in advance - hence the low score for the greens. Golf shop staff were very friendly & helpful. We played 2 rounds and the first on Sunday was VERY slow. Our 2nd round on the Monday was a lot better although we actually had to ask a 4 ball who were very slow (2 clear holes in front of them) to allow us to play through. It turns out they were "members" so perhaps a little reminder to your regulars about the etiquette on course would be worthwhile to ensure they invite faster players through rather than grudgingly allowing it on request. Perhaps a course warden running round in a buggy now and again to ensure prompt play and adherence to the rules would be a useful aid to improving round times. We'll probably come back to play again sometime when the course is drier to make a fairer assessment.

Great experience the course is in good condition the best we have seen it. Great set up and well maintained. Would play it again. Good to have the hotel at the venue.

Despite the breezy conditions the course was receptive to our 4 ball's wide handicap range and was thoroughly enjoyed by us all. Fairways were generous and greens receptive. we had a good all-round experience

Lovely course, in good condition, most enjoyable

Course in goood condition, greens were great. Pace of play as you would expect was slow. Overall would probably go back. 19th hole was very expensive £12.80 for a pint of magners and a glass of red, but you never paid same price twice, didn’t get it. Food was average, don’t get the chicken curry, absolutely crap. Was told we had to pay for parking, but found out it was included. Hotel average. If going into Blackpool get an uber, far cheaper than local taxi.

The course and golfing facilities in general were excellent. The shop was well stocked and the staff really helpful.

Lots of water and deep rough which led to some time looking for balls . Greens were excellent and we went round in just over four hours in hot weather conditions. I would suggest a half way house on days like that so the player’s could get a cold drink

This is a great venue even though a lot of the greens and tee boxes are a bit rough. There's lots of long grass and water so you need to stick to the fairways but there's some great holes. Book a buggie if you need one, well in advance because they only have 2o odd buggies and the course is rammed. Do not leave anything in your vehicle because its not safe, I have my ranger broke into and they attempted to steak it but I have a back up immobiliser with code but unfortunately they damaged my vehicle trying to get it started with they gadgets. Don't let it put you off I would definitely play this venue again

Played herons reach several times but this time found it disappointing especially the greens , this time of year expected it a lot better .i know we’ve had a wet winter but compared with the course I’m a member of , it was poor .

The course was in good condition. The club shop was efficient, no problems checking in or booking buggies on the Sunday. Nice drinks in the sun afterwards at the 19th hole. We really enjoyed our golfing weekend. Thanks.

The course should not have been open . The fairways were sodden and I lost 14 balls over two rounds . These were in the fairways , impossible to find in plugged lies. We were muddied up to our ankles on some fairways , the bunkers were unplayable and the greens had a lot of animal damage to them . Overall, very disappointing as it was my wife’s surprise 70 th birthday trip .

Unplayable

Well laid out course, with as the name might suggest, plenty of water hazards to negotiate. The flow was easy to follow with fantastic views as we wondered round. Overall a pleasant course, well worth the money will definitely return at some point.

its difficult to give a true report of the course, the fairways were very boggy my group thought they were bordering on unplayable due to the inclement weather a few days before, which meant a lot of my groups balls landed on the fairways plugged never to be seen again. Downside was we were not informed that the course had been closed on previous day due to its condition before we arrived and also that one hole was closed the greens were in good condition however a lot of players didn't repair pitch marks!!, which for a golfer is just lazy!!!! the course could have really done with a member of staff on the first tee making sure groups get of on time! there was a lot of groups waiting to tee-off, we started 30mins after ort scheduled start time I and the group would really like to go back when the fairways are in a playable condition which we might do in the future. last thing about the course is there is a lot of water hazards around the course which is brilliant however please take insect repellent as we all got insect/mozzy or god know what bugs taking bites out of us with wearing shirts when I say a lot of bites I MEAN LOTS!!!! we enjoyed the weekend and we accept that the inclement weather the week before played its part in what the course was like.

Really nice course and facilities. However the course should not have been open for play as it was a total mud bath on the fairways and due to weather, the fairways was not cut over grown grass, due to heavy rain… on the last day play was suspended due to this, it should have not been listed/advertised as a choice to play in my opinion… the golf course should have to you guys this.

due to the bad weather we lost all of fridays golf saturday and sunday 18 of our party played 2 of us who need buggies due to medical problems could not play so we played no golf over the weekend we are waiting to see what recompence we are getting from Herons Reach

Course was very wet and greens very slow. Very good variety of holes.

Played on a Sunday driver and the Sunday round was 5hrs, Monday a lot better. A lot of the tees were in awful condition, the fairways were way too long but I understand it’s hard for free staff to get on with that much traffic. The greens were ok, not great and for beginning of September should be in top condition. Course layout was good, par 5’s all short with our longer hitters able to reach in two quite easily. We were probably spoilt by playing at Lancaster on the Saturday which was outstanding. All in all, what you expect from a Sunday driver hotel venue where the course is packed. Unlikely to go back but overall enjoyed the weekend apart from extreme slow play on Sunday.

Excellent course, play was at a good pace, good greens, a little bumpy but recently holatined, so excusable, definitely recommend 👌

Much better facilities than the Hotel, all ran well. The course was interesting but not too hard.

We played here 3 days, the Thursday and Friday were a good pace, but the Saturday was extremely slow, it picked up a bit at about hole 10 but it took us 30 minutes to play hole 1 and wait to tee off on hole 2.

Large party of 28 everyone one loved the course the fairways and greens in awesome condition. Saturday there was another large party in front of us but we still moving at a good pace.

The course was in fantastic condition!! With the golf / hotel stay it was great value. With all the practice areas including chipping and bunker shots !!!! Would recommend to all !!!😁😁

Brilliant golf course for high handicaps. All fairways and greens were very well cared for. The layout is excellent and we enjoyed it very much.

The hazards are such that a wayward ball is often lost. The greens proved a challenge and all were in excellent condition

Beautiful, challenging course with some great water hazards to keep it interesting. Well maintained and good standard for the time of year and weather conditions. Would like to go back in the summer for another visit when it will be in top condition. Nice golf shop and helpful staff. Great.

For the time of the year course was in really good condition.

The course was a nice layout,although wet underfoot. The green keeper informed us that the course used to be a land fill clay based.

We were lucky with the weather as any rain was in the evening which made the course a bit wet underfoot leading to no buggies allowed on the course,but can't complain due to time of the year.

Our society had some really good stableford scores on the course. Greens needed to be a touch faster but overall perfect for a cross section of society golfers.

Course in great shape, little confusion regarding tee times we had to go out later than told , group in front was really slow but Marshall's went out and had a word, nice place

Large group ahead caused significant delay but the weather and course were in fine fettle so thoroughly enjoyed both rounds and shot scores significantly under my handicap.

We both enjoyed the course. Facilities were good just slow play.

Great course, really enjoyed playing it as did the rest of the lads that were on this trip. Plenty of water on the course and sand too which can make it tricky but plenty of opportunities for making progress with some short par 4’s and 5’s.

Lovely golf course in great condition considering how busy it gets with corporate and visitors. Staff very friendly. few challenging holes over water. very enjoyable

Really enjoyed the course again!

I had read bad reviews about the greens prior to our visit. But they were fine and I'm sure they will only get better. Quite a difficult course if you don't keep to the fairways. Lenty of challenging holes, but a very rewarding course.

Greens very poor didn’t see anyone working on the course during our two rounds. Had heavy showers on the second day which resulted in some greens holding surface water which surprised us as the weather had been so dry!

Course was in good nick but the green's were very poor.

Well after having no recognition of me even been booked for golf and getting squeezed in the course was fine but the greens had all had work on and it was like putting on a ploughed field so ruined my day and score

Greens need a bit of attention but it was winter golf!

Unfortunately the recent heavy rainfall made conditions soft underfoot. It did improve on our second day. It was simple to take water relief where applicable. Greens were in great condition. Golf staff very helpful & our party were welcomed on arrival by the course manager which was a nice touch. Course layout excellent with some lovely holes, also good combination of long & short holes. Thoroughly enjoyed by all

Obviously we can't control the weather. We only played 5 holes on the Wednesday and 9 on Friday due to very heavy rain.

Course in good nick considering recent weather. Greens a bit patchy and inconsistent but a good test for all abilities.

Course was in good condition considering the weather, very slow play even thought a lot of groups had buggys.

I thought some of the fairways were a little scruffy but we really enjoyed the course - it was not too challenging.

This course is flat with some nice holes i lasted played this about 10yrs ago and now some of the water features have been left to go wild its a good mixture of difficultly , i am a high handicapper but still enjoyed it

Not a forgiving course , first day felt far to busy as though to many booked to play. Let some singles or two handers play through us however hard when 4 behind and four in front.

These type of courses are always going to have a lot of traffic. Don't expect too much.

The golf course was great

It was wet which could be expected as we have had a lot of rain recently.greens were ok With lots of pitch marks

Tee times were bad due to very slow players. We had long cold waits and it wasn’t nice in the soaking wet conditions of the course. The course itself should have been closed due to the fact it was water logged and dangerous in many parts. The wheels of our trolleys were spinning in the water and turned over a few times while trying to steady them. We have had so many visits to this course in the good weather we know it to be one of our favorites but this visit was quite awful. The pathway from the 9th to the clubhouse which was where we decided to come off, almost caused a massive accident. Our trolleys both went down in the holes which were full of water. It was a very scary situation. The time it took to play 9 holes was in excess of 2/1/2 hours. So we didn’t dare to do the 18 holes when it would have become dark and even more dangerous trying to find our way back. It was such a disappointing two days for us. We love that club but there are no greenstaff or any officials on duty to keep the players on the straight and narrow .

We had 3 rounds of golf with all weather across the trip. Greens and fairways held up well with recent wet spell there was parts of the course which were unplayable with standing water (no fault of anyone’s) Greens were nice and tricky abit bobbly in places Nice course with plenty of hazards placed around.

Unfortunately arrived just after the monsoon, only managed the Monday round and there was still a lot of water on the course and then more rain in the latter part of the round. Still a good challenging course and the Pro shop staff were welcoming and helpful. Book the course but stay elsewhere.

Was ok nothing too challenging.

Despite the weather conditions the course held up for the 3 days, for the volume of golf played, i would have thought that the drainage would have been to higher standard.

Very VERY wet underfoot, but tees and greens were very good.

Played two days first day we had a bit of rain but second day they had mowed the course and was in excellent condition.

We enjoyed the course but there are so many groups and societies it is very slow and really needs a Marshall around the course to ensure a reasonable pace. We got behind groups of very slow ladies and societies of non golfers and the pace was very frustrating ...

A great course but three days playing in windy conditions with some par 3s playing up to three clubs more

The course was in great condition and the greens were really good. There are a lot of hazards on the course and water everywhere. Most of the trees were classed as red hazards, which I suspect was to help speed up play. Some of the holes were nice and easy but there was a few that were really hard. We were a 4ball of hackers but we got round the course in 4 hours on both days of our stay. The members we met all seemed friendly and told us to enjoy ourselves on the course and we did. We will definitely be back. We paid £139 each for 2 nights and 2 rounds, bed breakfast and evening meal. Great value for money and a great golfing experience.

Too many non golfers on the course , I heard one guy telling his friend he scored 1 point after 18 holes of stabledord 😡 far too slow ,

Aaron on golf was brilliant we had quite a bit of rain but the course coped with it. Would love to play again but would not stay on site.

3 good rounds managed to dodge most of the rain and the course held up well in such wet conditions

Had a fantastic 2 days with 28 players all 4 balls at a good steady pace the weather made it, sports bar and terrace on the 18ths great!!! A good test of golf to suit all

We had two days golf. Both absolutely great. Lovely friendly people on the course also. The staff in the golf shop had problems keeping young louts from causing problems on the course due to a public footpath in the area. We coped due to being good humored when we came across them. The golf was excellent and the course staff superb!

32 of us hence 8 tee times . We had great tee times and every body enjoyed the course.
