The lush, parkland-style course by Ian Woosnam at Lighthouse Resort makes the most of its position on the dramatic limestone cliffs overlooking the Black Sea. The panoramas here are truly distracting but that's one thing you can't afford to indulge yourself in too much if you want to carve out a decent score on this striking course.
Woosnam laid out this course as all resort layouts should be, with golfers of many different abilities in mind. There are multiple teeing areas on every hole and the design is challenging enough to entertain but never punitive in the way some egotistical designers like to make their signature courses.
At 6,720-yards and with a par of 71, the Lighthouse course blends challenge and playability to perfection, especially considering the fickle nature of the breeze off the Black Sea. The greens are superb; large, undulating but always true. Perhaps most surprising of all is the mature feel to the whole site. It was completed in late 2008 but you'd never guess with its strands of mature trees and the high quality of the fairways and greens.
Lighthouse is ranked as one of the best courses in Bulgaria

Really disappointed the holiday was sold as all inclusive, strictly not true its all inclusive on a limited amount of drinks, if your playing golf early breakfast early then be aware breakfast doesn't start until 7.30 so if you got 8am tee time its tight, and then if you have a 10am tee time, you get some horffic pack lunch, as the golf clubhouse isn't included in all inclusive and lunch at the hotel finished at 2pm. Staff at the hotel are rude, and for finally to add "salt into the wound" they had a our transfer back to airport they booked for 14:45 when our flight was actually 05:45 so we needed the transfer at 02:45, good job I checked!!! do not stay at Lighthouse you will be disappointed.....

For an all inclusive deal, Main buffet restaurant only had a 2 hour dinner slot. Secondly Vegetarian food choices very limited even after requesting at Reception and Chef. Bar in hotel in main foyer area which closed early so not impressed. Biting such as nuts/crisps with drinks not in all inclusive. No bottles of water provided for Golf! Had to reuse and fill from water fountains in room lobbies... Separate all inclusive tier to include foreign spirits should be offered. A la Carte not included in all inclusive

Nice personable hotel compared to the massive ones in Turkey, rooms were reasonable size, beds comfortable and bed linen of good quality. Staff friendly and helpful, food was pretty good and the all inclusive beer, wine and spirits were fine also. Spa was great and as the weather was warmer than expected we were able to also use the outdoor pool.

I was travelling with a fellow female golfer and as soon as we arrived at check-in, our clubs and cases were taken to our respective rooms without us even asking. We were both allocated very large, well-appointed sea-view rooms with a balcony. The following morning, we were taken by shuttle bus to the golf club, which was a very short transfer. We were able to leave our clubs in a secure locker room for the duration of our stay. When we decided to play the nearby BlackSeaRama course, transfer from the hotel was just 4 euros each. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and polite and I would have no hesitation in returning. We were on an all-inclusive deal, so soft drinks and alcohol did not incur additional charges. During the day, a small room near reception provided a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks for all-inclusive guests. This worked very well. All in all, an excellent stay.

Rooms spacious and very comfortable but bath towels very small and poor quality. Staff generally excellent, very helpful but staff at the lobby bar let the rest down. Food at breakfast excellent evening food not so good except in a la carte restaurant which was excellent (but not cheap). Disappointingly the pool bar and Greek restaurant closed, shivs bar only open during the day and not included in all inclusive also the golf clubhouse bar not included in all inclusive, very disappointing.

Was a great stay but the food is an absolute joke, 5 star is a standard!!! Pure lies saying 5 star. I heard them say 5 star in one country will not be the same in another… absolute bullshit. If that is there thinking. My star would be 3 star and just on the nose!!

Rooms were great for seasoned, older travellers who don't want to share. We ate twice in the evening and the buffet dinner was reasonable value. The breakfast was very comprehensive for both cooked and uncooked eaters. The reception and concierge staff were very helpful. Overall good.

The room was excellent, food was average for all inclusive but excellent in a la carte restaurant if you pay full price (our meal cost 85 euros). Minimal outdoor facilities except for the pool and nearbye Balchik town untidy! Spirits were only local and branded drinks expensive. Nowhere near as good a value as Belek hotels. We would not visit again. No black tea (English)available only scented/flower tea flavours.

Course & Greens no complaints. The clubhouse Bar was shut by 5pm. Limited Food options so had to return to the hotel for after round drinks/food. Very strange management setup - for a Golf Resort, the clubhouse was not part of all inclusive package. Not even water!

Very enjoyable to play. Challenging par 3’s . Plenty of sand in the bunkers and overall in good condition. Usual dislikes I.e. pitchmarks not repaired on the greens. . Amazing halfway house.

On arrival, the Golf Director took us around the course in a buggy to familiarise us, which we thought was really helpful. The driving range, putting and chipping areas are excellent. The course is in good condition for a hotel course, as hotel guests who are complete beginners use it and it seems that not all are aware of basic etiquette such as raking bunkers and replacing divots. The Club House is very well appointed, with both male and female locker rooms. We also played the BlackSeaRama course (about 90 euros) and enjoyed spectacular views and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't much more difficult than the Lighthouse. YourGolf had pre-booked tee-times for us before we left the UK and this is a sensible thing to do, as popular times get booked up quickly.

Very good course challenging. When it’s windy the course is completely different. Only issue was all bunkers had no real sand. They swapped all the sand out for temporary sand not great.

We played the course 3 times in different conditions. The pace of play was ok most of the time although a bit slow on first round on 3rd October. The course Marshall was helpful and informative. Collectively we enjoyed it.

We started in heavy rain so the course was practically empty. Lots of pretty decent holes but no views to speak of (think the only sea view was from the half way house deck). Good fairways and greens and a good layout. Staff at the restaurant were very good and the course ranger made a point of asking for our views and gave us a lot of background on the course’s development. Definitely worth a visit.

The Lighthouse should be played first of the three courses, it is a lack lustre course you could play anywhere in the world and not expect to pay more than £30 for a round, the course is kept well enough but boring, greens were far too slow and the clubhouse was tired and in need of some care.
