The added bonus is access to the excellent Lingfield Park Golf Course, located onsite and recently improved to offer a splendid 6,487 yard test. Located within the grounds of the racecourse, the golf at Lingfield Park is the perfect complement.
As the host of numerous local PGA events, including The Surrey Open, Lingfield Park is a superb test of golf from the back tees, rewarding those who are able to drive accurately and take advantage of it's design to open up greens and second shots. With many testing tee-shots on display, most notably on the front 9 with it's tree-lined holes, those with a keen ability off the tee will be score well here. The course enjoys great views and numerous elevations so what the course lacks in length is more than made up by the natural landscape.

Yes everything was good with the Hotel. The burger on the main course was over cooked and potentially Breakfast food could have been slightly hotter however appreciate that can be hard when offering buffet arrangement. The other issue but not major was no Skysports so we could not watch the Ryder Cup. Maybe Hotel description should include whether on not it has satélite TV?

What you’d expect from a Marriott. Clean, fresh and comfortable. Restaurant food was good and service very friendly (if a little slow). The bar area was quite small though so we struggled to get a table in the evening. Bar was also expensive (£30 for 4 pints of beer).

The location was great. The staff were very helpful. The bar was nice although the draught beer was very limited. The food in the restaurant was very good apart from the prawn cocktail starter which was completely tasteless. Everything went well and without any hassle. I would definitely do it again. The agent Sam was spot on 👍🏻

Our group of 6 stayed for 2 nights in October. The staff were fantastic- so kind and helpful. I had my 70th celebrations on the second night and all the staff came out to sing Happy Birthday with balloons and a large slice of cake with candles (not 70 of them though thank goodness!) The food is excellent. Rooms spotless and super comfy beds. This was our second visit and we enjoy it so much we will return again. Many thanks to all.

Very comfortable rooms, bar and dining area. The hotel is obviously suffering from lack of staff like everyone else but those who were there could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The breakfast was excellent but the dinner was not up to scratch eg a dressing on the Tomato and Mozzarella salad would Have made all the difference. Service in the restaurant and bar was extremely slow. We all had problems with our room keys not working several times in 24 hours.

Our room was very spacious, nice bathroom with plenty of toiletries. Two double beds very comfortable. Coffee and tea tray well stocked but no fridge/minibar. Perhaps removed due to covid? The room overlooked the area where they hold events, so straight onto the temporary tiolets and was also right over the outside bar area which might have been a problem if it had been a niec day! The accoustics in the bar and dining room made it extremely noisy and unenjoyable to eat there. For that reason we would not go back there. Maybe ok for groups but not couples.

Comfortable rooms. Staff cold not be friendlier. Food was lovely, but after a round of golf, I was expecting a bigger meal. Lovely Sea Bream, but one baby leek and three tiny bits of cauliflower does not make a meal. I was still hungry after the main course, although friends wo had the lamb were stuffed. No real ales when we visited, except in bottles. The acoustics are difficult in the public areas because of all the the hard surfaces.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Marriott. We had rooms that looked over the race course which was brilliant and they were very comfortable. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The inclusive dinner was very good quality and we could choose anything on the extensive menu apart from the cheese board (£5 supplement). The breakfast offering was either full English or veggie version as obviously there wasn't a buffet option. The only gripe would be that the coffee wasn't the greatest.

Great big rooms, good spa, nice golf course, perfect for a weekend of golf, spa and the races right next door. However the restaurant is not good enough and is unable to cater for multiple people or tables. Very ordinary menu and food arriving cold, or not at all. Such a pity as the restaurant lets down the whole hotel.

Everything was great except for the beds in our room, they were both completely broken and should be thrown away. Our backs hurt after the first night, we complained and they brought some extra mattress on top of one of the beds that didn´t really fix the problem as it was really just like a duvet, way too soft to do anything for a broken mattress. The staff admitted that there were some rooms with broken beds. Otherwise the stay was really great and we would love to come back as long as we would be sure that the bed problem would be fixed.

Nice Hotel situated perfectly for the golf course and Race track, Light and airy interior and very good pool and spa facilities, Staff were all very helpful and attentive and food was good, the evening meal set menu could be a bit more adventurous and varied with maybe an option to upgrade to a la carte. Due to its location on flight path for Gatwick all bedroom windows were sealed and although no noise whatsoever from Planes it would be nice to be able to have the option of getting some freah air into the room but overall very clean well appointed and very comfortable

✓14 Jan 2015
We arrived at Lingfield Park a couple of hours before our tee-time, with first impressions being very positive, seeing the hotel situated right beside Lingfield Park racecourse. We made contact with the friendly staff in the pro shop who directed us to the nearby spike bar, where we enjoyed a reasonably priced light lunch & coffee.
At our allotted tee-time, we made our way to the first tee. The ground did seem a little wet from the recent heavy rain, but we were all keen to get started on a reasonably straight forward par three.
As mentioned earlier, the course was indeed quite wet, with the fairways being a little 'fluffy' which was certainly due to the amount of rain that had fallen & the staff not being able to cut them. The greens however were the best we had seen in a long time and although a little slow they were very 'true,' & in excellent condition overall.
On our return to the hotel, we checked in & were told that we had full access to the pool, sauna & fitness areas which was a great bonus. The rooms were excellent, looking out over the racecourse, with comfortable beds, fluffy towels & tea & coffee making facilities.
Following pre-dinner drinks at the bar (not the cheapest unfortunately!) we took our places in the restaurant where we were informed by the waiting staff that we could choose from the a la carte menu, with just a couple of the choices attracting a small supplement.
The standard of food was excellent, with everyone happy with their respective choices, particularly the belly-pork in my case!
Following dinner, it was back to the bar where, as mentioned earlier, the bar prices were slightly on the high side. We were all in a good mood following the golf & good food though, so we didn't let this spoil the evening.
The next morning we played our second round, and again found the course to be on the wet side, due to more overnight rain. The greens appeared to have had a light cut, and were again in excellent condition.
Although the course was not particularly long, just under 6,000 yards off the yellow tees, quite a few of the fairways could be described as 'tight', so accuracy is important off the tee. Following on behind our group was a European PGA junior event that allowed us to see how good we could have been at an early age had we bothered to practice just a little bit more!
At the end of the round we again retired to the spike bar where we had lunch and the presentation of the prizes. All were in agreement that we had had an excellent stay at a first class hotel, with great food, friendly & attentive staff and a couple of great rounds of golf thrown in for good measure.
This was the second time we have used Your Golf Travel and we would most definitely use you guys again...we will just have to wait for the weather to warm up first!
Thanks again for your help in arranging our golf trip.

Very slow first day over 5 hours, and second day we had asked for earlier tee time from YGT and was told no early tee times were available. But hardly anyone playing the course second day. Luckily they let us bring tee times forward, but couldn’t understand why we were told earliest tee time was 10.45am when there was hardly anyone playing.
John
✓7 Oct 2025
Great course but the bunkers were in a terrible state. Some had very little sand, some had not been raked and the blanket was showing. This let the course down badly. The level of acorns and chestnuts on the fairways was just about acceptable, but really should have been blown off the fairways. Several greens and hole positions were really challenging and we greatly enjoyed that aspect. We look forward to returning some time in the near future
Les
✓1 Oct 2025
Unfortunately the both rounds took in the region of 5 hours which we feel is a little bit slow especially in this day and age of slow play. The only other comment is they stop breakfast at 11 and dont appear to serve any food then until 12 at the earliest. Some of the group were not able to get any food before playing.
Craig
✓23 Sep 2025
Great course, good variety of holes throughout. We were lucky with weather but could see problems arising in wet conditions. Only grumble would be the bunkers - they need a lot of attention to get to level of rest of course. Overall great.
Norman
✓23 Sep 2025
Good and interesting course. Small greens which were good but the course is a little "tatty" in places, probably caused by the dry summer. Will definitely play again
Chris
✓14 Sep 2025
The course has a good mix of holes. It requires a high degree of accuracy with some big dog legs and some tight tree lined fairways but also has some more open holes. It’s not got many particularly long holes so irons were used off most tee’s. There were some greens where drainage was an issue even though the greens had been spiked but we had quite a bit of rain in days leading up to our trip. Could practice area with greens for practicing chipping and bunker play + putting. Driving range was disappointing as no rubber tee’s on the mats and quality of balls was low (about every 8th ball had a crack or lump taken out of it)

✓20 May 2024
Lovely little course. No real advantage for big hitters as a lot of holes have a dog leg or hazard meaning accuracy is priority so good for all ages and levels. Some very pretty holes, particularly the par 3’s, at the moment with the flowers in bloom!👌🏻
Jacqueline
✓12 Nov 2023
The course was fairly quiet as it was October and suffering a bit in places mainly due to the relentless rainfall that we have had. Greens were very good but course quite wet in parts. All in all we really enjoy playing here - a pretty course with some testing holes. An electric trolley is best if not using a buggy.
John
✓28 Oct 2023
Nice layout with good greens but the course it’s self was sodden and probably should not have been open. I would only play this course in the summer. Played in late October
Alan
✓19 Sep 2023
Unfortunately the weather was very poor, so we only played 15 holes on day one, and 7 holes day two. On the second day, a fourball in front of us were ridiculously slow, terrible course etiquette, driving buggies across the edge of the greens etc.
Simon
✓14 Sep 2023
Very slow round on Sunday - 5hrs 30! Monday was better but still 4hrs 40. The greens were in lovely condition. Tees a bit scrubby… Due to dry weather the ball ran well, in winter would be quite tough.

✓25 Jul 2023
Course in excellent condition a very much plot your way around course some tight fairways you do not have to be a big hitter Your golf travel made booking very easy first class service from Paul tinker top man
Brian
✓20 Oct 2022
We played two rounds via a Sunday Special. The course did not seem well maintained with the fairways needing a cut, which I understand in October is a challenge, but perhaps cutting them sooner should have been done. We lost balls on the fairway! The fringes could also do with a cut. The greens were not great either. I guess the course does not drain that well and it seems to be well used via groups and societies. It is a tight and often hilly course and using a push trolley was an effort especially in the damp long grass. Our tee time on Sunday was double booked to 'squeeze in' another group. We certainly will not head back to Lingfield Park.
Paul
✓8 Oct 2022
A little wet and muddy underfoot but the greens were excellent. Overall the course could have done with a little more TLC - the bunkers clearly had not be raked for a while. I think we believe this is a summer course to play and to be avoided when wet.
Guy

Given the current hot weather the fairways and greens were in good condition. The bunkers were not well Maintained and some needed weeding. Not all the bunkers had rakes and were full of footprints. We were unable to use the Clubhouse and the lockers only took old pound coins!! The staff in the PrShop were welcoming and helpful and really looked after us. Thank you

Really enjoyed the course, especially greens. The bunkers were variable and poorly maintained though. Quite a lot of bare patches on fairways etc, but this didn't spoil the enjoyment. Sadly, tee times weren't booked though so this caused some issues - including another group with the same tee time on Day 2. From the staff perspective, this 'wasn't the first time that YGT had not confirmed the tee bookings'.
David
✓30 Apr 2022
Course is a good tough and tight challenge and very quiet. Pro shop helpful and accommodating. Greens were bumpy and recovering from hollow tyning, needed a trim. Bunkers were not good in places with virtually no sand and unranked.i would go back when there was possibly better growth.

The course was very wet so made it a tough walk ( after a good night!!) Enjoyable variety of holes with trees, some water and the race track. Quite hilly in parts but Enjoyable. Not a great start to the day, 6 buggies reserved and only offered 2 and no range balls left at 11:30am. If you are going to accept so many peoples money (182 apparently) then use some of that money to pay extra staff to collect range balls and check speed of play.

✓26 Sep 2021
The course has not been well maintained. The greens were like the temporary greens at our home clubs and the bunkers were aweful. Either too much sand or none with weeds growing! We called to confirm our tee times beforehand and the one on the first day was not booked in! On the second day our tee time of 9 30 was confirmed by them twice but on the day a society was booked between 9 to 10, so we had to wait with everyone following us impacted also. Nobody from the club cared or took charge, hiding in the starter's hut leaving us all to sort it out.Never again at this place!

✓12 Jul 2021
thought the course would be easier but some of the par 4's are a test of accuracy off the tee for sure ! the course was in good condition though I think there is a ongoing drainage issue around the holes nearest racecourse, but really enjoyed the 2 rounds we played and would come back
Sylvia
✓30 Jun 2021
Extremely helpful starter who also dealt with bookings and very accommodating as weather forecast was not good. Have played the course before and enjoyed it, hence our return visit. Members of a very good course ourselves hence only four stars.
Johan
✓27 Oct 2020
The course itself was varied and interesting with a mixture of parkland, water features and narrow fairways. There wasn't much in way of facilities due to Covid so the Pro shop was closed and you registered at the hut by the first tee. They had our booking as a four ball rather than a two and a three ball so only one tee time but they accommodated the two groups both days. The weather wasn't kind to us so the fairways were pretty muddy. The greens were ok but quite slow due to the rain and lacked a little TLC. In drier conditions, this course would be an enjoyable one but the course need some attention.

I am afraid that I found the course in need of plenty of maintenance on both the fairways and greens. However the bunkers are great to play from. And might consider returning next year, or trying another Marriott.

Played 2 rounds in 3hrs 30 mins for a 3 ball so no complaints. It’s more a beginners course but it was still testing with tree lined fairways. Par 3’s good tests Greens although pitch marks not repaired, ran true. Overall a very good leisure course that keeps you on your toes no matter what level Would play again for a leisure break

Course was tight but in good condition despite the greens being scarified. Excellent venue as we managed to sit outside the hotel bar after golf to watch the Horse racing😀

The course was good except there was a temporary green on the 17th and we were not informed about it. There was no indication anywhere about it which was a bit annoying.

Nice golf course, perfect for visitor golf when staying at the hotel. The pro-shop is very over-priced.

The course is a lovely mature course that meanders through the countryside surrounding the Lingfield estate. It is therefore a difficult course if you are not accurate off the tees. Our group lost a lot of balls throughout the weekend, but fully accept that is our poor playing than anything else! I think those that have a handicap or more than 20 may struggle, or just accept that they will be a few balls down at the end of the day. Despite that our group of 8 were all keen to visit and play again, and all really enjoyed the weekend.

Wonderful looking course with some stunning holes. Very tight off the tee on some of the holes. A good challenge.

This is a really nice course, tree lined and very private. It is hilly so I would recommend a trolley. Greens were in good condition (bit slow but they had been spiked for autumn). There are some pretty holes. We had the course to our selves. Only suggestion to green keepers would be to remove some of the grass from "in the bunkers". Would recommend this to any golfer, great value too.

Absolutely beautiful course, difficult as it is narrow but amazing to play. Will come back any time for this course.

The course in general looked like it was being run down. The bunkers had grass growing in them, tee boxes were poor, nothing like the last time we played here. We will not be returning to this venue again.

What a shame - Lingfield Park has a great layout, with some very nice testing holes BUT..... the condition of the course is very poor - the fairways need to be cut to a level below the first cut of rough - it was almost as there was not distinction between the fairway and the first cut of rough. Greens need attention, top dressed, hollow tined and rolled. Bunkers - when you see bunkers with grass growing through you know there is total lack of attention by green keeping staff. There is no excuse for the bunkers not to have been raked - one of my fellow golfers mentioned this one of the gents at the pro shop, who looked at him as though he was from a different planet!! Get the course sorted and Lingfield will be a little gem in Surrey.

A great 3 days and passable 3 rounds!!, middle day weather was not too kind but sheltered in Buggy for a few periods so didnt get wet. There are a few water features to overcome but not too much of a problem overall a good 6500 or so yards course not too hilly or arduous and fairly wide fairways. September before the leaves start to cover the course was a good time to go and will go again
